“Reassessing Philosophical Perspectives: Critiques of Capitalism, Justice, Morality, and Virtue Ethics” “Maintaining Focus and Formality in Argumentative Writing”

    Requirements:
1000 word minimum (the word count does not include either the Works Cited page, or titling information).
A Works Cited page that follows proper MLA Guidelines. Papers that fail to include a Works Cited page will incur a 10-point penalty.
Direct textual evidence (utilized in the form of quotations with correct citations) must be used to support your position. Papers that do not use direct textual evidence will incur a 20-point penalty.
All papers must be submitted in a Word (.doc) file format and uploaded to SafeAssign. Google Docs submissions are not accepted. If I cannot open your file attachment, I cannot grade your paper which means it will earn a zero.
All of the sources you use should be scholarly. The following sources are not acceptable for use: Wikipedia, YouTube, Diffen.com, Quora, SparkNotes, Philosophy Now. If you have a question about whether or not to use a source, a good rule of thumb is to either ask or not use it.
    Choose ONE of the Following:
1.) Are Marx and Engels Right?* : In the first section of The Communist Manifesto, Marx and Engels give a long series of indictments of bourgeois society, lists its abuses of power, and tells how it exploits the working class (the Proletariat). Argue one of the following positions:
A.) Marx and Engels are correct in their criticisms of capitalism/the bourgeoisie; offering reasons and evidence why, of course. Please note that supporting this argument by simply restating what they say is insufficient.
B.) Marx and Engels are incorrect because capitalism does have many redeemable qualities you will show evidence for in your paper.
*Note this paper topic is only referring to Marx and Engels’ criticisms of capitalism, and whether the criticisms are correct. The topic at hand is not what Marx and Engels proposed regarding a communist revolution, general strike, etc. In other words, a paper that asserts “Marx and Engels are wrong about their criticisms of capitalism because communism/socialism is bad” isn’t on topic and will be graded as such. To further clarify: let’s say Marx and Engels were doctors, it is possible that they’re correct about their “diagnosis,” but wrong about the “cure” or “treatment” they propose…which is why we should keep the discussions separate, for this paper topic, and only focus on the “diagnosis.” After all, if they’re wrong about their criticisms, there’s no point in a “revolution.”
2.) Rawls v. Nozick: John Rawls’s publication of A Theory of Justice revitalized Anglo-American political philosophy through a robust defense of something like a “welfare state” (used without a negative meaning). Robert Nozick, on the other hand, takes issues with the redistributive measures such a Rawlsian society would need to undertake. Given these things, which of the two views of “justice” is more defensible and why?
3.) A Re-evaluation? Nietzsche is often read as offering powerful criticisms of traditional or commonly held beliefs of morality. To what extent are his criticisms valid and, more importantly, what does this mean for us? Are ethics and morality a waste of time, or is there still hope in a “re-evaluation” of values?
4.) A Feminist Virtue Ethics? While certainly very important, Aristotle’s articulation of the virtues and their roles in our lives seem to be inherently lacking because they fail to provide a consideration for a multiplicity of viewpoints. In other words, discussions of “virtue” are typically done with masculine/patriarchal/exclusivist overtones. Annette Baier and other feminists offer a powerful and productive way of reformulating our “normal” views of what these things (virtues) actually are. Do you think, therefore, that Aristotelian virtue ethics is improved upon by care ethics/feminist virtue ethics, or was it doing alright on its own?
    Miscellaneous Caveats:
Merely having an opinion does not make said opinion justifiable, defensible, or even good. As such, your paper would need to advance reasons you hold your position.
Do NOT give personal examples and other anecdotal evidence when writing argumentative papers. I do not mean to suggest your relationships or experiences are trivial, only that we’ll need to keep the papers focused on the prompts.
In academic writing it is generally advisable to write from a position of near-certainty regarding one’s own position, meaning you should avoid language that implies hesitancy on your part. In other words write, “I assert…” “It is my position…”; NOT “I hope in/feel/believe.” The latter implies you aren’t sure what you’re arguing, or that your position is too wishy-washy.
Finally, because this is a formal assignment, please use formal language throughout the course of your paper. Do not use contractions and Internet lingo.

“Reexamining the Body: A Critical Reflection on the Impact of Course Materials on Personal Views and Understanding” “Reflection on My Experience as a Physical Therapy Aide and Receptionist at Vibrantcare Rehabilitation” Discussion Board 3: Role as a Physical Therapy Aide Discussion Board 4: Multitasking as a Receptionist at Vibrant

    Website: Canvas Login – CSUEB (csueastbay.edu) www.csueastbay.edu/online/CanvasLogin/
Log into this website and go to “Critical Issues of the Body” and find 3-7 articles that are on Canvas and follow directions listed below to complete the essay:
    FINAL ESSAY
First draft due for peer review on 11/29/22, 11:59pm
    Final draft by 12/6/22, 11:59pm
    100 points
NOTE: Before starting to write anything, make sure you outline your answers to these questions in bullet point form or using a visual word map (it helps to use a big piece of paper or a blackboard here). Then, discuss your ideas with a friend, classmate, family member, or colleague before re-organizing the outline for your paper.
    PROMPT
    Explanation of Issues
Using your own definitions of the body, mind, spirit, and soul (Unit 1), and using your self-perception of your body at the beginning of the class as a baseline for comparison, critically reflect on how your views on the body changed/stayed the same throughout this course.
This essay should be at least 2000 words, 12 point Times New Roman font, and double-spaced. No late submissions will be accepted.
    Statement of Position
Make sure your paper is organized around a clear thesis.
Following are some questions that you should consider in the process of your critical reflection. You do NOT have address every single question listed here, but you should address enough of them to demonstrate not only your comprehension but also mastery of the ideas therein. Sample papers from former students, and which illustrate what I mean by comprehension and mastery, can be found under the appropriate link on Blackboard.
    Use of Evidence
What course materials in this class spoke to you most, and why?
Given what you now know, what do you think the body means/symbolizes/signifies in society? In your own community, how do you see the body being used/abused and/or alienated from its “species essence” (Marx), and how can the body be a force for liberation from pain (Scarry) and the pursuit of a quality life (“flow”, Nakamura and Csikszentmihalyi)?
What do you think of the gendering (Fausto-Sterling, Wacquant, Knapp), racializing (Hartmann and Wiggins) and “disabling” (Wolff, Benshoff and Griffin, Rubin and Zupan), of bodies, as well as the future cyborg-ing of bodies? How do you think these different ways of understanding the bodies of others may impact your future professional practice, particularly in terms of the treatment of bodies?
    Alternative Viewpoints
Choose at least 3 but no more than 7 course materials to draw on deeply to answer these questions and support your thesis. Next, in a “refuting the potential counterarguments” section of your paper, imagine how at least 2 contrasting theories might have impacted your definitions of body, mind, spirit, and soul and how your views have changed/stayed the same throughout the course. Why didn’t you choose these two contrasting theories? For example, if you chose to draw on Marxism, but didn’t draw on ideas of “flow”, say why/. How would your perspective be different if you had? Be explicit about what you are arguing against, and why.
Note: If you choose fewer sources, I will expect more depth than if you choose more sources. I grade primarily on how your paper coheres – that is, how each part of the paper fits with the other parts of the paper, not necessarily that you answered every question on this list.
    Context, Assumptions
What assumptions did you have about the body, mind, spirit, and soul before you enrolled in this course? What assumptions do you make about the body, mind, spirit, and soul now that you have finished it? Now that the class has finished, and you have digested the course materials, how do you “see” the body, mind, spirit and soul, and how does that view compare to when you started the course?
    Conclusions, implications and consequences
How did our history of the “normalized body” (Unit 2) impact your understandings and assumptions?
How did our cross-cultural and sociological studies (Unit 3) impact your understandings and assumptions?
How will you view your body, and the bodies of others, going forward? Will you take a more or less scientific perspective of the body, and why?
What does the expression “quality human body movement” mean to you now? What do you think future students in KIN 305 should know about the body, mind, spirit and soul, and what should know about this course?

I was a physical therapy aide at Vibrantcare Rehabilitation.

“Addressing Climate Change: A Financial Plan for Sustainable Solutions”

Please edit my paper “Assignment B”
i got a B-  for the draft . Professor said : Overall Feedback
Fairly good effort to start with. Remember to review the requirements very carefully, as the concepts of climate change are very weak in the submission. How are you using the budget and explaining the impact of climate change based on the resources provided. Use the excel sheets provided to develop the financial plan.
General Feedback from professor to whole class  :Please note that your first stage is reviewed and graded. These are your preliminary grades, and they will be changed once the final submission is made. All changes must be in YELLOW highlight. Some comments have been given. Most of the submissions have been attempted fairly well. Some of the general weaknesses are the lack of data, and proper use of the excel sheets. Many of the statements require validation by use of in-text citations and data. Additionally, some submissions have high use of AI. That must be fixed before the final submission. Use the textbook to build your principles in submission.

“The Importance and Impact of Victim Impact Statements: An Analysis of Current Literature and Future Implications”

Identify, define, and discuss the most important idea/topic/concept/theory you learned as a result of this class. Further explain what you learned and why you regard it as the most important.  Recall, when basing your discussion on the ideas of others (which is the expectation), you will need the required in text citations and complete reference page at the end (see APA Manual 7th ed.).  Avoid quoting; paraphrase as necessary.  I am looking for your ideas as informed by the published scholarly literature and data on the matter, and not simply what someone else thinks.  Please include a title page.  APA 7th ed. formatting is REQUIRED.  Please name the file: yourlastnamefinal.doc.  Submit Microsoft Word Documents ONLY for GRADE CONSIDERATION!
According to the National Center for Victims of Crime (2012), victim impact statements provide victims an opportunity to express the impact the crime has had on their lives.  These statements may be used by a judge in determining sentences and/or by parole boards when making determinations regarding parole approval.  For this question you will discuss the nature and extent of victim impact statements, their purpose, use, and future implications.  Additionally, you will (1) conduct a search on, (2) locate and (3)analyze a victim impact statement.  Discuss the details of the case, the victim impact statement, the judge’s sentence, and whether or not you agree with sentence based on crime seriousness and victim impact. Include: Criminal (s) involved, victim(s) involved, crime committed, apparent impacts, and other relevant information to provide contextual support for your decision.
Writing Format Example (Required for EACH Question) (APA 7th ed. format REQUIRED)
    Title Page
Introduction (2 substantive paragraphs): Introductions do not begin with answering the question, rather provide a backdrop into why or how the problem is a problem being addressed at all.  Introduce victimology and why it is needed.  Discuss the nature and extent of crime in America or from a world view,  how many people in society are impacted, and it’s importance to the field, research, practices, policies, etc.  Your exam should have supporting scholarly in-text citations demonstrating the published extant literature upon which your knowledge is drawn.
Literature Review => Body (6 substantive paragraphs Headings Required)
Here you will discuss the published literature including any studies conducted within the last 5-10 years on the topic you select in EQ1.
Organize in a logically consistent manner
    Use headers and transitional phrases
    Future Implications (2-3 substantive paragraphs)
Here discuss what the next steps are in research, policy, practices, etc.
    Conclusion (2 substantive paragraphs)
Here discuss in summation what you have presented from introduction, literature review, and future implications.
No new content should be included here if it was not discussed previously.
