This assignment asks that you do the work of a historian and analyze some aspect of Minnesota’s history. This requires that your project move beyond the typical report format (beyond just telling a story) and provide an analytical interpretation of the topic you are investigating. In doing so, ask questions such as “Why is my topic significant in history?” and “Why should we care about it today?” The structure of the project should include an introduction introducing your topic and explaining your thesis; a body that works to advance and/or provide support for your thesis; and a conclusion.
