“Examining Ideology and the Role of Government: A Reflection on Contemporary Issues” EFO Model and the Role of the Federal Government EFO Model and the Role of the Federal Government: Exploring My Ideological Placement and Views

This essay covers material from throughout the class. Unlike the final, it is not timed, but is due BEFORE the deadline for the exam (since I need time to grade them). It should be around 2 pages (about 400-500 words), but you can go a little longer if you feel you need to. Feel free to use bullet points/numbering if it makes it easier, but be sure that you use complete sentences and proper grammar in your answer.
The goal of this assignment is for you to relate your values to what you learned in this class. Students will analyze the role of government in contemporary issues and demonstrate understanding of how political ideology shapes our views of the role of government.
You will not be graded on your ideology, but you will be graded on whether you can explain how your ideology (and your understanding of class material) relates to your views of government. This is the last assignment that I grade before submitting final grades, so be sure to do well, and answer all parts of the assignment. If you are borderline A/B or B/C, your grade on this can make the difference.
You may want to re-take the Ideology quiz, sinceLinks to an external site. you haven’t taken it in a while, but you can also just use your results from earlier in the semester.
You should only use the material from this class (such as the ideology lecture) to do the assignment, since outside sources often don’t explain the EFO model very well. However, if you use outside sources, be sure to cite them.
How much should the federal government do?
One of the big questions we’ve discussed in this class is the role of the federal government.  The Coronavirus (COVID-19) has brought this question to the forefront of American politics. Answer the following questions about ideology and the role of government.
After re-taking the EFO quiz and reviewing the ch1 module, explain the EFO model (remember to use the definitions from the lecture and cite slide #s; don’t use outside sources, since they often use the wrong definitions). What are the 4 ideologies and what do they believe? Be specific. (6 points; paragraph)
Insert a picture/screenshot of your placement on the EFO model in this assignment (Word is free for students and makes it easy to insert graphics into an essay; contact the helpdesk if you have difficulty with Word). You MUST include a screenshot of your placement or you will NOT get credit for this assignment. Reflect on your placement. What does it say about how much you care about Freedom, Order and Equality in general.  (6 points; short paragraph plus screenshot of your placement)
Review the ACA lecture from Public Policy (Economic & Domestic Policy) module. Explain one provision of the ACA from the lecture and explain why you favor or oppose government involvement in that. Be sure to cite the slide # of the lecture in your answer (3 points; short paragraph)
Does your placement on the EFO model fit your views on the federal government involvement in either healthcare, Covid or gas prices? Referring back to part 2, discuss your placement in the EFO model (what it means for Equality, Freedom and Order), and whether your views were consistent with your placement? Be specific (explain).  Note: It’s okay not to be consistent all the time (recall Emerson’s quote from the Courts lecture). (4 points; paragraph)*** (see note below)
Thinking back on Lasswell’s definition of Politics, what does Roesler mean when he says that there often isn’t a “right” answer in politics?  How does it relate to this discussion of “choices over conflicting values” as                 illustrated by the EFO model? (4 points; paragraph)
***note:  The point here is to reflect on your ideology and your response to the role of government. There’s no right answer here, but you do need to correctly relate your ideology with the role (or lack of role) you wish to see the government play in these issues. How much the government should do will depend on your priorities in the EFO model. You need to explain where you fit and how that relates to your view on the role of the federal government. However, if your placement on the EFO model doesn’t fit your answer in this   specific question, you should acknowledge that it doesn’t fit with the model. It’s okay to be inconsistent sometimes (you can invoke Emerson), but I want you to explain why you think it was inconsistent.

“Journey of Self-Discovery: A Poem and Short Story Analysis” “Enhancing Readability and Emotional Appeal: Strategies for Effective Writing”

attached is the instructions, including the short story and poem. please read directions carefully. and below is the feedback to the poem and short story. poem: 1. What imagery or lines in this poem are the most powerful to you?
The lines that are most powerful to me in this poem is,
“Here, within this holy inner part is where I feel totally rejuvenated.
I am my happiest when I am alone.
And the murmur of my thoughts seem to wane.
Moreover, I rekindle a sense of determination.”
This stuck out to me because of how much this expresses the peace the narrator feels alone. This gives the audience a look into how at-peace the narrator is with themselves as a person and a soul. It is very powerful and conveys self-love and confidence. 2. What imagery or lines in this poem are the least powerful to you?
The line that was the least powerful to me was,
“However, the sound of the town slowly starts to deminish.”
This line was the least powerful because it just seemed like it was an add-on to the stanza. In the first stanza, the comparison between the bustle and loudness of the city to how the narrator escapes to their inner self to get away from that, already suggests that the sounds have began to deminish. 3. Do you see any particular rhyme scheme (this will probably be the shortest answer)?
There seems to be no specific rhyme scheme or pattern to this poem, which illustrates how flowy the poem is, as the narrator seems to just speak their mind.
    4. Are any parts of this poem confusing?
There were no confusing parts of this poem, as the message of being at peace with oneself and escaping to the mind to get away from the chaos was deepy conveyed. 5. What suggestion can you provide for improvement on this poem? (You MUST suggest something. ALL drafts can be changed somehow, even if just for experimentation.)
The only thing I believe should be changed is the line at the end of stanza two. The beginning of the poem already suggests that the sound of the city is silenced as the narrator dives into their thoughts. The only thing that I would suggest instead is maybe a few more lines on just how silent and free the narrator feels within their own presence and thoughts short story: The narrative centers on Thomas, who, upon finding an antiquated key and a cryptic note in his grandmother’s attic, is drawn into the enigmatic depths of a moonlit forest. This key is the gateway to a secret nestled within a venerable greenhouse, unveiling a mesmerizing tableau of his grandparents’ cherished recollections. This tale is an odyssey of self-discovery, delving into the ethereal nature of familial ties. As the story states, “Thomas was filled with the sounds and images of the past,” highlighting the central theme of memory and connection.
The narrative’s most compelling aspect is the lucid portrayal of the greenhouse and its enchanting metamorphosis. The depiction of the rose bush, bathed in the glow of the key’s enchantment, is especially evocative: “One rose bush was highlighted… shining as the spell touched it.” This moment captures the enchantment of the setting and the emotional depth of Thomas’s experience, making it a memorable and impactful part of the narrative.
Conversely, the narrative’s potential shortcomings include the scant development of Thomas’s persona and the story’s succinctness. Despite the richly detailed magical elements, Thomas remains an enigma, defined solely by his actions. Furthermore, the redundancy in the concluding segment may be perceived as superfluous, failing to contribute fresh insights or emotional depth to the narrative.
To elevate the story, enriching Thomas’s character would instill greater depth and engage the reader’s empathy. Introducing dilemmas or hurdles could infuse the tale with suspense and vigor. For example, Thomas might grapple with the choice between lingering in the beguiling past or confronting the starkness of reality. Additionally, honing the narrative to eradicate redundancy and enhance coherence would bolster its readability and emotive impact.

Leadership and management, compliance and Title IX, Academics, Eligibility, and Life Skills, Media Relations, Financial Operations, Marketing, Sponsorship, Facility and Event Management, Alumni Relations and Development, and Support Services.
Be specific and provide detail. Incorporate 4 sources (1 can be your textbook).
NCAA Division I university, FBS, with a 2-10 football team, commuter campus (students aren’t around much to attend games), and is on probation due to an NCAA violation in recruiting.
NCAA Division II university with a history of success in women’s volleyball and men’s wrestling, but lack of athletic success in football and women’s basketball. You are short staffed in your athletic offices
NCAA Division III university which is a powerhouse in men’s hockey, cannot provide athletic scholarships (obviously) and sponsors 24 different sports.

“Financial Analysis of Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (BMW): A Comparison with Competitors” “Effective Report Writing: Tips and Guidelines for a Professional Presentation” “Improving Writing Through Grammar Checking and Manual Proofreading”

It’s a group project about a chosen company and my groups chosen company is Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (BMW)
my role as a group member is to perform
Member 2: Data Collection & Analysis
Task: Handle the data collection and analysis portion.
    Subtasks:
Gather financial reports of the chosen company and its competitors.
    Perform cross-sectional and time-series analysis.
Focus on one aspect such as sales, cost, or fixed assets and provide a line-item breakdown.
Please read through and follow carefully these instructions as well as all the other documents that i have atahced because following is vital for me to do it correctly
    Accounting 978 Spring 2024
The term project is a group project. Students should form groups of from three (3) to five (5) people and submit reports on Luiss Learn. Reports will be graded based on both their analysis (contents) and writing (presentation) from 0 to 10 points (no decimal) and count toward 20% of the course grade. All members of a group will receive the same grade for the project.
Each additional member beyond the cap (5) will result in two (2) points of penalty.
    Eachmemberbelowtheminimumrequirement(3)willresultintwo(2)pointsofpenalty,
e.g., if you do the project solo, you will get at most 10 – (3 – 1) × 2 = 6 points. The group project aims to expose you to:
    • teamwork,
    • data collection,
    • data analysis, and
    • academic/business writing
Excellent report should show accomplishments in these aspects.
    1 Requirements
Write a report about a listed company of your choice. The company of your choice should be a merchandiser or a manufacturer. There is no additional limitation such as where the company is listed, etc.
Your report should enhance the reader’s understanding of the company and help the reader to decide whether it is financially rewarding to invest in the company.
In so doing, your report must include cross-sectional (against competitors) and time series (against the company’s past) analysis. The number of competitors should be at least as many as the number of group members.1 Time series should be at least five (5) years and ending in 2023 the earliest.
Contents The analysis must be based on the company and its related companies’ financial reports. You do not need to cover all aspects of the company. Focus on just one aspect (sales, cost, fixed assets, etc.).
Your analysis must break down at least one line-item on either the income statement or the balance sheet (according to the aspect you are focusing on).
Line-itembreakdownisoftennotreadilyavailableonGoogle/Yahoo!Finance,etc.,which means you must consult the notes to the original financial reports.
You are allowed to use Google/Yahoo! Finance for other general-purpose analysis.
Not always possible, but performing a value-chain analysis (on suppliers and customers)
    is a major plus.
    1
Hint: Competitors can be identified from proxy statements.
    1
Choice of subject Despite that there is almost no limitation on choice of subject (company you would cover), I strongly discourage crowding around a few star companies. I will rank reports covering the same subject, and no two reports on any subject will receive the same grade. Different aspects of the same company are considered as different subject.
    • Suppose, in an extreme case, 11 groups decide to cover Apple’s sales, then the worst report will receive 0 point regardless of absolute report quality.
I encourage you to choose Italian and European subjects and test whether what you’ve learned in the course is applicable internationally. Smaller and more focused companies are often easier to analyze.
Submission You should submit either a Word or PDF file on Luiss Learn. Deadline is at 11:59PM on May 8, 2024, regardless of which final exam you are registered to. I will not grade before the deadline, so you may submit revisions. Regarding the document—
    2
The electronic document should be formatted on A4-sized pages, with page margin of 2–3 centimeters on each side, font size between 11 and 12, and text double-spaced.
The text should not exceed 10 pages. There is no minimum page limit. Tables, figures, and list of reference do not add toward the page count.
The file should not exceed 10 megabytes.
    Recommended practice
The title Although not always easy, entitling your report with a catching phrase can help you communicate your findings and make a good impression before your reader gets to the text. That said, a plain title such as “Group project on Company X” is still better than no title.
Put your names immediately under the title. Do not withhold your names until the end or even forget to put them into the document. Do not include your professor’s name.
When submitting your report electronically, include your (last) names as part of the file name.
Text formatting Choose a conventional typeface with serif. If you cannot decide, use Times New Roman.
Once format choices are made (typeface, font size, page margin, and line spacing), use then throughout the entire documents.
Use bold fonts or italic shapes sparsely if at all.
It’s okay to center titles, section titles, and captions. But do not center blocks of text (para- graphs, even entire sections).
Tables and figures Use tables and figures when they communicate better than text. All tables and figures should have captions and short explanatory notes and be numbered consecutively. Tables and figures should occupy the full width of the page. Do not use a table and a figure to show the same set of information. Instead of inserting tables and figures into the text, consider putting all tables and figures at the end of your report.
    In tables:
Format numbers in a suitable and consistent way within the table and align them to the
    right side of each cell.
A single number should not run over one row no matter what.
Do not use vertical rules at all and use horizontal rules sparsely.
Do not copy-paste tables as images.
    In figures:
    • Always specify what are on the x- and y-axes in the notes.
    2
    • Do not include random imagery in your report.
Screenshots The most common and offensive mistake is to bloat your report with screenshots. Do not use screenshots unless the screenshots per se are what you intend to show. (You don’t need to screenshot the financial reports to prove that you’ve consulted them.) Instead, extract and process the information from the source and re-tabulate the data properly; this is
    part of the exercise.
Report structure Breaking your report into sections to highlight its structure helps you orga- nize your report in a logical way. You may find the following layout useful:
Introduction Provide basic information about the subject you chose (1 paragraph). This can
be extended if the subject is not a household name. Also explain why you are interested in the subject in the mode to convince your reader to share your view. Briefly summarize what you’ve done and what you’ve found.
Main body Describe your method and your finding in detail. Focus on what you do, (when necessary) justify your research choice, and most importantly, what you’ve found. You often need more than one sections here.
Conclusion The conclusion should be based on your work. No one can perform the most comprehensive analysis, so it is important you acknowledge the incompleteness of your report.
Reference An itemized list of sources you’ve consulted.
Reference Each item in the reference should contain at least the name of the author(s), the year in which the source is published, and the title of the source.
Sources can be journal articles, working papers, books, book chapters, news articles, maga- zine articles, web pages, etc.
You shall not list financial reports as your source. It suffices as long as you mention in the text that you used the financial reports. The same applies to websites, such as Google finance, SEC EDGAR, etc.
For online resource, you should provide the Uniform Resource Locator (URL). Check if URLs can be shortened and make sure they work after shortening.
Review your report Run your document through a grammar checker and review issues it raises. You don’t have to accept every change it suggests, but you need to have a reason not to accept a proposed change.
Manually proofread (read out) your report before submission.
    3
