Vocabulary has been linked to academic, reading, and writing success in the post-secondary setting. Language and terminology development are essential to effectively reading and understanding subject-area-specific material (special education peer-reviewed journals, research, etc.). Research has shown that vocabulary development is most effective when one constructs their own meaning (even at the doctoral level) and a visual representation of terms or concepts. Throughout this course, you have explored important words, topics, and concepts and have perhaps encountered terms with which you are unfamiliar. This assignment will require you to identify and wrestle with personal meanings of those terms. As a result, you will acquire an understanding of the terminology, as well as a diagnostic self-monitoring tool. The glossary you create for this assignment will represent your journey in this course.
Instructions
Compile a list of 10 terms to explore. Five terms must be related to assessment; the other five must be related to research.
Do not include terms that are: Related to quantitative, qualitative, or single-subject research design Quality indicators
Repeated terms
Use the provided Personalized Research and Assessment Glossary Template to complete your exploration of each term. Each term’s template chart should begin on a new page.
Each term’s template chart should incorporate citations from at least two scholarly journals.
Ensure your answers for each prompt meet the minimum word count requirement noted. Provide a word count for each section where requested. If a prompt or section does not have a word count listed within the question, it does not have a word count requirement.
All references should be included on the last page of the template in current APA format
