A Place to Begin: Awareness, Reflection, Critical Thinking
In our efforts to understand diversity and social justice issues and to develop cultural competence aimed at social change, we start with ourselves.  We as social workers need to conscientiously engage in a process of becoming aware of our personal values and beliefs about social justice, reflect on where those values and beliefs originated, and engage in critical thinking about the implications of our current perspective.
We often hear the expression life is not fair, especially when something bad has happened to us or to someone we care about.  The expression is perhaps a manifestation of a belief that life is, indeed, not fair.  Is it fair that our destinies are often shaped and determined by accident of birth (i.e., by race, gender, class, abilities, country of origin, etc.)?  A more relevant question, when considering issues of social justice, might be: Is life just? 
Reflection Exercises
What are rights? What do people have a right to (i.e., what should people get just because they are human beings)?
What are privileges (i.e., what do people deserve because they have earned it)?
Now consider the following more focused questions;
Is it fair to take (through taxes) from one group and give to another group?  When is it fair and when is it not fair?  Does it have to do with rights or privileges?  When is it a form of justice, and when is it an infringement on people’s freedom?
If there is a situation in which the goods and services produced are inadequate to satisfy everyone’s desire for them, on what basis or according to what principles can they be distributed justly? For example, if you believe that everyone has a right to food and there is an inadequate supply, how eo you distribute it?  If you believe that having food is a privilege, then what do people have to do to earn it?  And what should be done when people who have not earned it get it and those who earn it do not get it?
The assignment should be a minimum of one page, typed in APA format.

This assignment is a culmination of all the work that has ALREADY been completed. I just need you to combine into ONE paper (capstone assignment) ALL the work that has already been completed. You can use the sources that have already been used in previous papers:
Like all of the other written work completed in this course, the Capstone Paper is expected to be typed and formatted according to APA style. Each paper must incorporate relevant literature, including peer-reviewed articles and MSW course texts. Incorporate relevant social work values and ethics. A minimum of 20 sources is required for the overall paper. In addition, visual aids such as tables and figures should be included within the paper to illustrate the work completed with the capstone case.
The Capstone Paper is comprised of two sections. Section One focuses on the selected capstone case and incorporates content from the three mini-papers completed earlier in the course. Section Two contains a reflective synthesis of learning gained through coursework, field seminar, and clinical placement and incorporates content from the three reflection papers completed earlier in the course. The requirements for each section are described in more detail below.
The entire paper must be at minimum 32 full, double-spaced pages and no more than 40 pages; separate reference page(s) are required but do not count toward the required page count for the Capstone Paper.

Review the following scenario based upon the Barnes Family, and then complete your first CTE. You may find it helpful to also review the Barnes Family Timeline to gather the appropriate information about the family. Answer all of the requests noted in the scenario, and be sure to discuss the brain, learning, and behavior in your CTE. 
CTE Scenario
You are a social worker in a mental health treatment center for adolescents. Your client is Samantha Barnes, a Caucasian 16-year-old female who was sexually abused by her biological family members for several years in early childhood. She was adopted at age 5 by a racially diverse family, whereupon the adoptive mother died approximately two years later from an illness. Your job is to talk to her adoptive father to provide insight into and guidance on how to help his daughter manage impulsive behaviors and poor academic performance. He is especially concerned about his daughter’s ability to succeed in school, her reckless impulsive behavior, and her future. (The adoptive father is well-educated, but he does not understand how childhood sexual abuse and stress from grief can affect the brain, and subsequently learning and behavior.)

For this assignment, you are to reflect on the readings from this module. Respond to the prompts below as you consider how theory and practice shape social justice.
1) Identify one or two examples of injustice or oppression that you see in our overall society. How does it appear at the broadest level of society? In specific social institutions (schools, health care, housing)? How does it affect a person’s own well-being?
2) Consider what you have learned in this module, what concepts help you create a vision of a “socially just” society, and to understand the levels at which change would be needed to achieve that vision?

For this assignment, you will review 4 peer-reviewed journal articles, exploring sexual abuse of children within Child Maltreatment written in the last 5 years. The articles may focus on policies, historical material, child welfare practice, therapy modalities, etc. The paper should utilize the headings that are in bold on the rubric: Insight and Ideas, Application and Advocacy, Integration and Evidence, and Interventions, for each journal article. The paper must be a minimum of 5 full pages and a maximum of 8. A minimum of one of your articles must be about a specific intervention for your maltreatment category, but no more than 2 of them total should be solely related to intervention/treatment. Headings for paper: Insight and ideas: 3 points per article, for 12 points total
• Provide analysis of the key points of the article. What is the article about? If it is a research article, what are the main findings? Is there anything interesting or significant about the population demographics, or research methods? If this article is about an intervention or treatment modality, did they find the intervention was successful? Application and Advocacy: 3 points per article, for 12 points total
• Explain what you learned from the article that can benefit you as a professional working with children and/or families. Integration and Evidence: 3 points per article, for 12 points total
• Address how this article integrates with the course material and connects to child maltreatment. Provide specific examples from course material, readings, lectures, videos, etc. Technical Skills: 4 points total

Research/find 2 scholarly articles with research evidence to support ongoing treatment with Mr. Morgan.
Then, write a short essay (1-2 pages at most) about this evidence as to what interventions are found to be effective in preventing relapse of substance use or promoting recovery from substance use disorder in older adults. Make sure to cite both articles.

Research Question -What are the immediate mental health effects and job performance outcomes for veteran crisis intervention first responders following repeated exposure to traumatic events? 

My paper is complete so I need it to reflect off of that  and the notes and study I took at team wellness center the notes can all be on 1 slide with info all on other slides
