Your project for this course is to create a transformational implementation plan for an area of an organization.
The organization must be part of the public sector.
You may use the organization you are employed in or another organization that you have information on.
Your plan should identify the issues that need to be transformed in the organization, the framework/model of the organization, the mission of the organization, your vision for the organization and the appropriate leadership styles and theories required to implement the change.
Additionally you should identify the goals, and the various components of the plan such as diversity management components, the managerial and leadership strategies required for plan implementation, necessary feedback mechanisms and if the framework of the organization will undergo a change what will the new framework become.

“The Impact of Occupational Cancer on the Fire Service: Challenges and Solutions”
Final Project Topic Proposal
This week you will be submitting your topic proposal. Your topic proposal is meant to ensure me that your research topic is relevant, and will be enough to complete an 8 page final project paper. https://myclassroom.apus.edu/d2l/common/dialogs/quickLink/quickLink.d2l?ou=188292&type=coursefile&fileId=Assignments%2fFSMT498+Required+Research+Topics%2fUSFA+2022+Summit+on+Fire+Prevention+and+Control+Roundtable.pdf
USFA 2022 Summit on Fire Prevention and Control Roundtable
Fire Related Challenges 6 Topics (pp. 13 – 25)
Impact of Climate Change (p. 15)
Fire Service Apprenticeship Program (p. 17)
Impact of Occupational Cancer (p. 19)
Impact of Behavioral Health (p. 21)
Parity with Law Enforcement in Federal Policy Development (p. 23)
Impact of Codes and Standards (p. 25)
Title Page: APA 7th Edition formatted title page.
Introduction: Your first paragraph is the introduction. The introduction must accomplish the following:
Introduce your topic
Provide a summary of the problem your paper will address
Discuss the main ideas or points you would like to present in your Week 8 paper
Relevance: This section of your topic proposal is where you explain why your research is necessary, the literature available on the topic, and how it relates either to the fire service as a whole or to your own fire service organization and community. Arguments: This section of your topic proposal is where you will discuss the main arguments and counter arguments on the topic, and where you will try to convince the reader to support your position. A compelling position paper will have arguments for and against the topic. A strong position paper takes a stance on a topic where people can disagree. Without arguments, the position paper would be boring.
Conclusion: The conclusion will briefly summarize your topic proposal and reinforce your research’s stated purpose.
References: This is the last page of your proposal. It serves as a listing of all references that you mentioned in your paper. Please use APA 7th Edition style when completing this list.
Assignment Requirements:
1. Two (2) Full APA Formatted Pages (This does not count the title page or the reference page)
2. APA 7th Edition (Guides located at the bottom of this page) 3. Word Document (Use Microsoft Word only) (Do not submit a PDF or a Pages document)
(Note from client: This is a research paper. I have added the pdf document for you to go over. It is broad and should give you a good topic to go over. You only have to choose ONE topic from the pdf document. This paper is to be written like an essay.) -
“Satire and Politics: An Objective Analysis and Recommendations for a Hot Topic Issue”
As the youngest member of an editorial staff (President’s speech writers, magazine, newspaper, online news source, social media PR, etc.) who is preparing for an upcoming press conference/publication, you are tasked with providing an objective perspective/position on one of several current hot topics that are the focus of satirical commentary/publications. You must research both sides of the issue, present your findings, and give a personal recommendation as to which side has the most defensible stance based on available public information on the issue. Because satire is often used to reflect on political and social issues in order to inspire change the staff wishes to make sure that they have a clear understanding of the topic so that they can have a significant impact on the political/social landscape.
Now that you have completed your research on your political cartoon, it is time for you to form a stance based off that research. Take the articles you have discovered and formulate the position you think has the most merit based on your research.
-Be careful that your position is based on research and not personal bias. (Every claim needs to have evidence and you don’t express opinions as facts).
-Come up with 3 recommendations as to how the company/party that you are representing should proceed. What stance should they take? Why is the event in question good or bad? What actions should they take in response to it?
-Every claim you make MUST be backed up with evidence from your research.
-Each piece of evidence you use must have an explanation for your reasoning as to how it proves your claim(s).
-You must have an introductory paragraph and a conclusion paragraph.
-Your introductory paragraph must have a thesis that tells what your official stance on the issue is and what steps you recommend for your company/party to take in response to it.
-Each body paragraph should explain your reasoning for why you think your company/party should take certain steps.
-Your conclusion paragraph should summarize each of your main points and reiterate the next steps you think your company/party should take. -
“The Need for Change: An Analysis of California’s Medicinal and Adult Use Cannabis Act of 2016”
Over the policy brief California medicinal and adult use cannabis act of 2016 Executive Summary (Overview & Findings) (5 pts): 1 page maximum – The executive summary aims to convince the reader further that the brief is worth in-depth investigation. A) Single-spaced description of the problem addressed;
B) Statement on why the current approach/policy option needs to be changed;
C) Your recommendation for action.
Context and Importance (5 pts): 3 pages minimum – The purpose of this element of the brief is to convince the target audience that a current and urgent problem exists which requires them to take action. As such, it usually includes the following: A) A clear statement of the problem or issue in focus; B) A short overview of the historical, root causes of the problem; and C) A clear statement of the policy implications of the problem which clearly establishes the current importance and policy relevance of the issue.
Options/Alternatives (10 pts): 4 pages minimum – The aim of this element is to detail shortcomings of the current approach (i.e., laws, legislation, programs) being implemented and therefore, illustrate both the need for change and focus of where change needs to occur. In doing so, the critique of policy options usually includes the following: A) A matrix of the policy option(s); B) An argument illustrating why and how the current approach is failing as demonstrated by data (see list of databases under recommended resources); C) opinions of both sides in the debate of the issue.

Title: “Strategic Human Resource Management: The Key to a Successful and Harmonious Workplace”
Rewrite the following paragraphs about Strategic Human Resource Management using best practices for formal writing. Also include in-text citations and quotes from readings links attached as part of your re-write.
Imagine your company is like a rock band, but instead of instruments, you have people! A strategic HR plan is like the band’s setlist – it tells you who needs to be there, what role they play, and how they’ll all jam together to rock the crowd (aka, achieve your business goals).
First, you figure out what kind of music you want to play (growth spurt, steady rhythm?). This helps you decide how many band members you need and what kind of skills they should have. That’s where recruitment and training come in – finding the right guitarists, drummers, and maybe even a keytar player (diversity rocks!).
But just hiring rockstars isn’t enough. You gotta keep them happy and motivated – think backstage passes, killer merch, and maybe even a pizza party after every gig (perks, recognition, and a healthy work environment). And let’s face it, even the best bands have occasional off-key moments. That’s where conflict resolution comes in – helping everyone get back in tune and avoid any band breakups (drama!).
Finally, you gotta track how well your music is going over with the audience (performance reviews). Are you selling out stadiums or just playing to your grandma in the garage? This feedback helps you adjust your setlist, maybe add a new song or two (new initiatives), and keep the crowd rocking long into the future.
So there you have it – a strategic HR plan in a nutshell! It’s all about having the right people, keeping them happy, and working together to make your company’s music a chart-topping hit!
