An ethical decision-making model is a tool that can be used by professionals in psychology to help develop the ability to think through an ethical dilemma and arrive at a responsible and ethical decision. This assignment assesses your application of ethical decision-making by requiring critical thinking and analysis through your recommendations to an ethical dilemma.
Read the following scenario:
You work for a large corporation in human resources as a psychologist. In that capacity, it is your job to select and administer psychological tests that measure intelligence and cognitive ability as part of the employee selection process. The company has been hiring engineers and you notice that in the next group of prospects, many are recent immigrants from Pakistan, Korea, and India. You realize that the standardized tests you have been using do not seem to be culture-neutral and are biased toward native English speakers.
Develop an 8- to 10-slide Microsoft PowerPoint® presentation to corporate managers with detailed speaker notes on the selection process of a culture-neutral assessment. The cover and reference page is NOT counted.
Address the following questions or objectives:
Should you use different tests that are less culture-bound?
How would you select assessments that are culture-neutral?
What criteria would you use? What, if any, ethical issues are involved?
How and why would using culturally biased tests be an ethical issue here?
What does the APA Ethics Code say about the importance of culture-neutral assessment?
Include examples of ways in which culture-biased assessments have been problematic.
How would you select tests that are culture-neutral?
Include examples of when culture-biased assessments have been problematic.
Explain the consequences of not following the selection process for both the client and psychologist.
Describe how the APA decision-making process facilitates more ethical professional behavior.

For this assignment, I would like you to watch a movie or episode from a series of your choice that presents a psychological disorder discussed in Chapter 14. As you watch the video, take notes that reflect examples of the criteria/symptoms for the disorder that are represented in the movie or episode.
1. Give a short description of the psychological disorder you have chosen; include detailed information of three main signs or symptoms associated with this specific disorder. You may use your textbook or the website for the National Institutes of Mental Health as resources.

Be sure that you use your own words for all text that is not in quotations, and that you adequately cite sources you use when referring to specific details or claims.
2. Give a short synopsis of the chosen video, including the main plot and who are the main characters. Make sure to describe why you have chosen the specific video. Please summarize the video IN YOUR OWN WORDS, not using a synopsis from the internet; this would be considered plagiarism.
3. Provide at least two examples describing in detail how the signs or symptoms for the psychological disorder (that are mentioned in step 1) are represented in the video.
Here is a list of movies that might help you in choosing, although you don’t have to stick to this list.

Title: Exploring Lifespan Development Through Media, Research, and Theory: A Comparative Analysis Title: Integrating Findings from Various Sources: Understanding Developmental Processes in Real-World Contexts
INSTRUCTIONS
Introduction: This final paper invites you to delve into a specific aspect of lifespan development and analyze its portrayal in popular media, empirical research, and review articles. By comparing and contrasting these sources, you’ll gain insight into the application of developmental theories and their depiction in real-world contexts.
Instructions:
Choose a Topic: Select a focused topic within lifespan development that interests you. For instance, you might explore “Adolescent Identity Formation” or “The Impact of Parenting Styles on Child Behavior.”
Find Articles: Locate: one popular media article, one empirical research article, and one review article related to your chosen topic (3 in total), and your book Bio (chapter), Psychosocial, (chapter), and Cognitive (chatper). Ensure that each article offers comprehensive insights and analysis.
Find one popular media article, one empirical research article, and one review article that all focus on your chosen topic.
Ensure that the empirical research article presents original research findings and includes a clear methodology section.
Summarize and review the 3 chapters related to the developmental time period in your paper. Highlight majoy concepts themes and definitions
The review article should provide a synthesis of existing research and theoretical perspectives related to the chosen topic.
Paper Structure:
Write a paper that includes the following sections:
Introduction
Literature Review (divided into subsections for each article and textbook)
Comparison and Analysis
Real-Life Examples
Conclusion
References
Content Guidelines:
In the literature review section, provide a summary of each article, including the specific developmental time period discussed, methodology used (for the empirical research article), and key findings.
Compare and contrast the findings, conclusions, and theoretical perspectives presented in each article.
Include real-life examples related to the chosen topic and analyze how they align with or diverge from the findings and theories discussed in the literature review.

Consider how each source emphasizes theories such as Erikson’s Psychosocial Development, Piaget’s Cognitive Development, or Bronfenbrenner’s Ecological Systems Theory.
Accuracy and Depth: Evaluate the accuracy and depth of information provided in each source. Assess whether the popular media article oversimplifies or misrepresents developmental theories compared to the empirical research and review articles.
Relevance: Determine the relevance and applicability of the information presented in each article to real-life developmental processes and outcomes.
Identify Developmental Time Period: Specify the developmental time period relevant to your topic (e.g., adolescence, early childhood). Highlight major theorists associated with this period and their perspectives on the topic. For example, in exploring adolescent identity formation, discuss Erikson’s theory of Identity vs. Role Confusion, Freud’s Psychosocial Development, and Kohlberg’s Moral Development. Compare and contrast the articles to the theory. Students must compare 3 theories.
Provide Real-Life Examples: Describe real-life examples or scenarios that illustrate the concepts discussed in the articles. Relate these examples to the developmental theories presented, demonstrating how they manifest in everyday experiences.
Conclusion: Summarize your findings, emphasizing the importance of critically analyzing information about developmental processes from various sources. Reflect on the significance of understanding developmental theories and their implications for real-world contexts.

Title: Exploring Literacy-Rich Environments in Preschool Classrooms Summary: As I searched for pictures of preschool classrooms and outdoor spaces, I used the Literacy-Rich Environments Checklist to assess the presence of various literacy elements.
Use the Literacy-Rich Environments Checklist, linked above, as you search around the internet for many pictures of preschool classrooms (or even preschool outdoor spaces). Check off the boxes in the checklist or just keep notes as you find or don’t find items.
Then write a standard “Summary & Reflection” (like you do for Reading Assignments) and submit it here.
For the Summary, write about some of the interesting things you found or didn’t find. Then, for your Reflection, write about your opinions: Which items were common? Which were not seen in pics very often? Why do you suppose this is? What do you think would be important to include in a literacy-rich preschool classroom environment if you were the teacher? -
