As a Sales Representative and a I/O Psychologist you will finalize your presentation by including points from your memo, a summary of your micro intervention from Week 5, and an outline for a macro intervention.
After completing this assignment, you will be able to demonstrate motivational improvements and HR strategies to leadership.
Take some time to polish your presentation’s job characteristics and SWOT analysis sections. Read through them carefully to determine if you want to make any changes based on your learning experiences in this course. Document these changes in your presenter notes. Open your presentation with a title slide, followed by a slide with the goals of the presentation and a slide listing the topics you will cover.
Use the memo you drafted in Week 3 to add 2 to 3 slides to explain the alignment of your plan and interventions with organizational vision, mission, and goals.
Merge your presentations from Weeks 2, 4, and 5. Make sure to add a title slide and a segue slide between them. A segue summarizes how the topics are related to each other and how it benefits the organization.
Finally, select an event, law, policy, or legal issue that would:
Benefit the organization and another that challenges the organization
Create 10 to 15 slides that outline HR activities that provide:
Tailored motivational responses that benefit each level of the organization
Preparation for the organization for potential changes
Instructional and policy activity that insulates the organization
Provide a 2- to 3-slide summary emphasizing the improvements to productivity stemming from the motivational benefits of your planning.
Note: You can use national events, lawsuits, technology innovations, security events, and so on.
Format your assignment as follows:
Your slides should only contain essential information and as little text as possible. Do not design a slide presentation made up of long bullet points. Your speaker notes convey the details you would give if you were presenting.

Instructions: The purpose of this assignment is to help you identify a topic for your research project and
consider your search strategy in the library database. Without exception, you will complete the
remaining Research Project assignments using the topic you identify for this Topic Proposal assignment.
1. Topic Statement (5 Points)
Describe your proposed topic and briefly discuss what aspects of this topic you plan to investigate in
your literature review. For example, if you’re interested in depression, you should specify what aspects
of depression or what populations or what treatments, etc. you are going to study. You may include
citations if you’d like but you’re not required to.
Here are some samples:
Sample 1: I want to look at the depression rates in athletes who have participated in contact sports over
the course of their life. Specifically, those who participate in American football are at risk of sustaining
multiple concussion and/or mild to moderate traumatic brain injury. As such, they are at greater risk of
developing post-concussion syndrome, neurocognitive issues, and depression.
Sample 2: There is a great deal of data that reveal with increasing Internet use, discussion networks
shrink and feelings of social isolation rise, thus leading to feelings of loneliness. Moreover, loneliness
may impact our perceptions and behaviors in self- defeating ways. My topic will explore the effects that
online communication has on helping behavior in a subsequent face-to-face social encounter. More
specifically, it will explore whether the mode of communication (face-to-face or online communication)
will have an effect on helping behavior in a subsequent face-to-face social encounter. In essence, to
what degree does time spent using the Internet versus face-to-face interaction affect the degree of
prosocial behavior in a face-to-face encounter?
2. Background (3 Points)
How did you get this idea for your project? Why is this topic interesting and important to you and to
others who might have an interest in this topic (e.g., therapists, clients, policy makers)?
3. Literature Search Strategy (8 Points)
Describe your proposed strategy for finding journal articles, books, and other sources for your literature
review. Please be specific and discuss how you will use Pepperdine’s library resources and databases to
select and document your references. Also comprehensively respond to the following questions: What
keywords do you plan to use? What journals might be most relevant to your topic? What challenges do
you anticipate?
4. Informational Resource Brainstorm (4 Points)
An informational resource is an original resource you could develop to share information about your
chosen topic with an intended audience. A fact sheet, pamphlet, infographic, informational video,
webinar, etc. are examples of informational resources. What are some ideas for an informational
resource you could develop related to this topic? For this portion of the assignment, (1) state 2 specific
resource ideas, (2) provide a rationale for each idea, and (3) describe how you think an informational
resource could convey information about your topic differently than a literature review.

TOPIC PROPOSAL GRADING RUBRIC
Topic Statement

The Case Assignment for this course will be a 3-5 page essay (excluding cover page and references). You should use a minimum of 3-4 sources in your Case Assignment.
Begin by completing the following Big Five test: https://sapa-project.org/. You will want to save your results for this assignment. Begin by describing the Big Five theory. Then discuss your results. Be specic and provide an example from your life that does, or does not, support the results. Then discuss your reaction to the results. Do these traits dene your personality? Discuss the results with someone close to you (a close friend, relative, or spouse). Do they agree with the results?
Outline Suggestion:
1) Introduction (1 paragraph)
2) Describe the Big Five Theory (1/2 page)
3) Share your results (1/2 page)
3) Provide one example of each trait from your own life (1 page)
4) Do you disagree with any of the results? Why or why not? (1/2 – 1 page)
5) Talk to someone close to you. Do they agree with the results? (1/2 – 1 page) 6) Conclusion (1 paragraph)

INSTRUCTIONS
The proposal for your research paper is a very important step toward the success of your paper (details about the requirements of the final paper can be found in the Content/Lessons area – link in the left side menu).
The Proposal should be one document, containing the following:
Part 1: Provide your selected topic for the Research Paper that is due in April, and describe your reasoning for making this choice. (Note: this proposal will not be very lengthy, it merely needs to address the items in the previous sentence. It will likely be only a paragraph or two in length and may just be a few sentences.)
*You must also include a statement to acknowledge if you know how to access the Library databases or not. If you do not know how to access them, you must include a statement that you will connect with the Library in person, online, or via phone. The Research paper can be any topic contained/related to the text (excluding Chapter 1). Select a topic that interests you – there are several topics that many students have found very interesting. Please remember to pick an area in which at least 1800 words can be written for your research paper that is due later in the term.
Keep in mind that you must go into much further detail than what is presented in the text. So do not pick a topic that an entire chapter or several pages are about. You will want to select a topic that is a very small section (maybe a paragraph or two) or perhaps is just mentioned in the text. Avoid topics from Chapters 1 & 2 – Chapter 1 is an overview and Chapter 2 covers the theories – most topics are discussed again later in the course in much more depth
It is also not advised to select a theorist or particular theory as the topic – many will not have current research as support and it will be a struggle to find the required current sources. You should also do some preliminary research to make sure you will be able to find adequate sources. The Research Paper Instructions page (in the Content/Lessons section) has a ton of info about sources and their requirements, be sure to read that carefully before selecting your sources.
Students will lose points if:
1) The proposal is submitted late.
2) The proposal is not submitted.
3) The proposal is not well written.
4) The proposal does not contain your reasoning for selecting the desired topic. 5) The proposal does not contain the acknowledgement about using the Library Databases as stated above. Note, if the topic is too broad or too narrow, your instructor will work with you to select a more suitable topic. Do not let this upset you – it is the best way to make sure you are on the right track. Check your grade/comments after the deadline to see if your proposal was accepted, or if an edit needs to be made. If your topic is not approved – you will need to resubmit. Be sure to read the comments with your score and make adjustments, then resubmit. Do not let this step of the paper be a roadblock for you – see suggestions below. Proper grammar and college level work is expected. Not sure what topic to pick?
Here is a great starting point: open the textbook to the table of contents. Next, locate a section or two that seem interesting.
Go to the pages of each of these sections and start to skim through the information.
Look for something that really grabs your attention but is only covered in a paragraph or two (or even just mentioned in a sentence). Do a few quick searches at the library or on the library’s online database to see if you will be able to find adequate sources for the paper. Message your instructor if you still have questions or concerns, or submit the topic as your proposed topic and check to see if it gets approved. Sample Proposal:
I would like to research the topic of XXXXXXXX for my Research paper. This is mentioned on page 345 in our textbook, but only covered in a paragraph. I am interested in this topic because my sister is affected by this and has dealt with it throughout her entire life. I would like to know more about XXXXXXXX so I can better understand what she has experienced. I have never accessed the Library databases, but I just looked at the website and sent an email to ask a few questions.

Choose a Case Study:
Select a well-documented case study involving a clear behavioral issue (e.g., child with tantrums in public settings, adolescent struggling with academic procrastination, individual with anxiety exhibiting avoidance behaviors). You can find suitable case studies in ABA journals, clinical reports, or with your instructor’s guidance.
Analyze the Case:
Using the framework of stimulus, behavior, and response, analyze the chosen case study in detail. Consider the following questions:
Stimulus/Antecedent: What environmental factors (antecedents, triggers) seem to be associated with the target behavior?
Behavior: What is the specific behavior of concern? How is it defined and measured?
Response/Consequence: What are the immediate consequences (reinforcement, punishment, extinction) following the behavior?
Assignment Requirements:
Written communication should be free of errors that detract from the overall message.
The submission must be APA 7 formatted.
The assignment should be a minimum of one page.

Overview: 
As a provider working with families who have a child on the autism spectrum, families rely on you to help them navigate this new world they have entered. Physicians are often the first provider a family encounters when learning their child has developmental delays, but as a therapist (speech, behavior, autism, occupational, etc.), psychologist, case manager, special education teacher, or family advocate, you are likely to be the family’s ongoing service provider with whom they have come to rely on for information.
You are to develop at least 10 recommendations for a family who has just learned their 24-month old son or daughter has autism. The family has not been in contact with any services up to this point, and is asking your help in finding what they need to provide the most comprehensive service plan for their child. The focus of this assignment is to point the family to the resources available in their community, not develop specific behavior goals or treatments. The purpose is for you to learn about the resources available in your community so that you are better prepared to help a family who has just received a diagnosis. Remember that not all families can afford private services and must rely on the federally funded services from the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, IDEA, thus finding these resources for the parent is very important.
Recommendations are typically several sentences long and provide an explanation of why it is recommended and where the family can go to find the service. Provide phone numbers, websites, and addresses when necessary (i.e., providing a family with contact information to a local ABA clinic). Recommendations should include all of the following:
1. What is it? Include a description of the service. Put the description in your own words and do not copy off the internet.
2. Why is it important? Include a reason why this resource is necessary for the family. Make this personal to the family and validate their needs and feelings.
3. How can the family get in contact with the agency/sign up for the service? Include contact information.
Sometimes, you find helpful handouts on the Internet that correspond to a specific service. If you find one, attach it to your assignment.
Of the 10 recommendations, you must develop recommendations for the following services:
Your local 0-3 intervention service (Part C services). Consult http://ectacenter.org/contact/ptccoord.aspLinks to an external site. to help you determine the correct early intervention provider in your area.
Preschool services under IDEA (Part B services). This would be through the local public school system in your area
Financial aspects of autism treatment (waivers, supplemental insurance, etc.).
You are not limited to these topics, and I expect you to gather information from this module’s readings and videos to help you determine what other services are needed for this child. Be sure to personalize the recommendations to the family. Let them know why it is important.
Don’t use jargon or acronyms without explaining it.
Don’t copy and paste description of resources directly from the internet.
Even though you might know classmates who have completed this assignment in the past, don’t rely on the fact that they got it right even if they received a good grade.
Give the family enough information about the resource so that they don’t have to go searching for more.
If you want to recommend several centers that provide the same type of service (i.e. ABA clinics) then that only counts as one recommendation with multiple contacts. It is great to give the family options, but they need to be separate ideas.
Don’t copy and paste contact information from websites. This tends to mess up your formatting.
