“Interactive Storytelling in Spatial.io: Creating a Dynamic and Immersive Narrative Space”
This project aims to harness the power of Spatial.io to create a unique, interactive storytelling space. Your objective is to develop a digital environment that not only tells a compelling story but also engages users through various multimedia elements and interactive features. This project will enhance your skills in digital asset creation, interactive design, and immersive storytelling.
IMPORTANT: Note that with the free version of Spatial you have an upload limit of 500 MB. Therefore, you might only be able to add a few photos, an object or two, and maybe one video. That is enough. The idea of this project is for you to have the experience of creating a 3D space in VR.
Project Assets:
You should a selection of assets (images, videos 3D assets etc) which help to define the story of your space. You do not need to fill the entire space with assets. What is important is to make a careful selection which helps to build the unique story of your space.
Project Goals:
1. Create a Story-based Narrative: Develop a compelling and coherent storyline that can be experienced through your Spatial.io environment. This could include a personal space which shows off your personality, skills, or personal story. It could be a gallery, a museum or an educational space. 2. Multimedia Integration: Incorporate an assortment of images, videos, three-dimensional models, and other digital assets that enhance the narrative.
3. Portals: Create portals that lead users to other related or thematic spaces, expanding the story’s universe and providing a deeper immersive experience.
Project Components:
1. Story Development: – Concept and Theme: Decide on a central theme or concept for your story. Ensure it is clear and engaging.
2. Multimedia Assets: – Images: Source or create high-quality images that align with your story’s theme. Incorporate these images into your space. – Videos: Produce or curate videos that provide dynamic visual and audio elements to enhance storytelling. Incorporate the videos into the space. – 3D Models: Design or obtain three-dimensional models that can be used within the Spatial.io environment to add depth and realism to your story. You can sources these from webpages such as Sketchfab and others. – Sound and Music: Integrate sound effects and music to create an immersive atmosphere.
3. Interactive Design: – Hotspots: Implement hotspots within the space where users can click to reveal more information, view images, or watch videos.
– User Navigation: Ensure the space is easy to navigate and that the flow of the story is intuitive.
4. Portals to Other Spaces: – Design Portals: Create portals that transport users to different spaces within Spatial.io, each related to a part of your story or expanding on the narrative.
Evaluation Criteria:
– Narrative Coherence: The clarity and engagement level of the storyline.
– Multimedia Integration: The use of images, videos, and 3D models.
– User Experience: The overall usability and immersive experience of the space.
– Innovation: The originality and creativity of the storytelling approach.

“Roman Numerals and Change for a Dollar Game”
Program 1 Roman Numerals: Design a program that prompts the user to enter a number within the range of 1 through 10. The program should display the Roman numeral version of that number. If the number is outside the range of 1 through 10, the program should display an error message. Program 2 Change for a Dollar Game: Design a change-counting game that gets user to enter the number of coins required to make exactly one dollar. The program should ask user to enter the number of pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters. If the total value of the coins entered is equal to one dollar, the program should congratulate the user for winning the game. “Exploring Java’s Built-In Classes and the Controversy Surrounding Violent Video Games” Exploring Java’s Built-In Classes and the Controversy Surrounding Violent Video Games
The discussion assignment provides a forum for discussing relevant topics for this week on the basis of the course competencies covered.
For this assignment, make sure you post your initial response to the Discussion Area by the due date assigned.
To support your work, use your course and text readings and also use the South University Online Library. As in all assignments, cite your sources in your work and provide references for the citations in APA format.
Start reviewing and responding to the postings of your classmates as early in the week as possible. Respond to at least two of your classmates’ initial postings. Participate in the discussion by asking a question, providing a statement of clarification, providing a point of view with a rationale, challenging an aspect of the discussion, or indicating a relationship between two or more lines of reasoning in the discussion. Cite sources in your responses to other classmates. Complete your participation for this assignment by the end of the week.
Tasks
Java supports many prewritten classes such as Math and the Gregorian Calendar. Explore the Java documentation at http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/index.html and find at least three other built-in classes you think would be useful. Describe these classes and discuss the types of applications in which you would employ them.
Most computer games today are very complex. If you are not familiar with them, find descriptions of the games Grand Theft Auto and Stubbs the Zombie. Why are some people opposed to these games? Do you approve of playing them? Would you impose any age restrictions on players?
