  • Title: “Exploring Germany’s Federal System of Government: An Analysis of its Impact on Political Stability”

    My research question is ”
How does Germany’s federal system of government contribute to its political stability?”
I already have most of my paper written but I need more sources. Preferably from google scholar.
I need the introduction to lead off with something interesting about my topic.
Needs to have cited source page
    The research question
Over the course of the quarter, you have, or you will, think about something you want to understand more about your state. Perhaps it is why are there so few women who serve in party leadership, or why the state has embraced democratic socialism, or why are coups frequent. In this part, the sky’s the limit. By May 19, I expect you to share with me your initial question, so I can review and help refine the question you propose to research.
    The hypothesis
A good portion of your paper should provide background information about your question. If you are looking at women in the legislature, I would want to see you write about the history of women serving in your nation’s legislature. You may also want to look at how the rates of women serving in similar or neighboring countries. You may want to look at candidates. Whatever you do, I want to see sufficient information that leads you to a well-developed, well-informed hypothesis.
I do expect you to do some research to get this background information. Google Scholar is your friend. The databases I have introduced you to over the course of the quarter are your friend.
    The research method
Finally, I want you to think about which research methods you would use to answer your question. Would you do a single case study? Would you compare one or two states? Would you want to compare many states? Would you use existing data? Do you need to conduct interviews? Do you need to analyze primary source materials? I want you to both describe the method and respond to the methodological questions and concerns that you read about in chapter 1 of your text and we talked about in week 1.

  • “Civil Rights Case Analysis: [Title of Chosen Case]” Summary of the Case: The case of [Title of Chosen Case] originated in [State] and was eventually heard by the United States Supreme Court. The case involved [brief Title: Court Case Presentation Outline

    Instructions
This assignment is comprised of 2 parts, the first of which is due this week. Part II will be due in Week 7.
In Part I this week, choose a Federal Supreme Court case that originated in your state that involves civil rights or civil liberties that was heard by the United States Supreme Court, and a decision was rendered. If your state does not have a case that was decided by the United States Supreme Court, choose a civil rights case from another state for which the United States Supreme Court issued a decision.
Here is a brief description of civil rights and civil liberties: Civil rights refers to equal social opportunities under the law. It gives you these freedoms, such as the right to vote, the right to public education, or a fair trial, among other things, regardless of your wealth or race. Civil liberties mean freedom of religion, equal treatment and due process under the law, and the right to privacy.
You should be able to go online and look up your state and famous cases decided by the Supreme Court. For example, Brown v Board of Education (1951) started in Topeka, Kansas, and ended up in the Supreme Court of the United States. Another example would be Calvary Chapel Dayton Valley v Steve Sisolak, Governor of Nevada (2020), which started in Nevada and ended up in the United States Supreme Court. A good source of information about cases decided by the United States Supreme Court is www.scotusblog.com, www.justia.com, or www.oyez.org.
Some other examples of cases include Lau v Nichols, State of Missouri ex. Rel. Gaines v Canada, University of Missouri, Terry v Ohio, Regents of California v Bakke, Michigan v Bay Mills Indian Community, Arizona v California, California v Cabazon Band of Mission Indians, Choctaw Nation v Oklahoma, Ysleta del Sur Pueblo v Texas, Korematsu v United States, Obergefell v Hodges, and Loving v Virginia.
Other sources can be researched online using search terms for “civil rights cases decided by the U.S. Supreme Court.” Be sure to use a case actually decided by the United States Supreme Court, and not a case decided by your state’s supreme court or a different court. A case that is still pending before the United States Supreme Court should not be used. If you are unsure, please contact your Professor BEFORE you pick your case and submit the assignment as this is a significant part of your overall grade.
Research your court case and write an outline of the case that you will be using to prepare a presentation, which will either be a narrated PowerPoint, a Kaltura Video, or some other format as approved by your instructor. If you are unsure, then verify the presentation format with your instructor before starting work on this assignment.
This week’s assignment should include (a) summary of the case; (b) a case outline; and a summary.
    Summary of the Case
In one or two paragraphs, provide a general overview of the case that serves as a snapshot of what the case is about and how it ended up in your state high court. A summary is using your words to write a brief history of the case. Do not give your opinion or your interpretation but stick to the facts only.
    Case Outline
Your court case outline should include:
    Title: Name of the case
Facts of the case: Provide key facts involving the case.
History of the case: What legal action was taken based on what your state laws say about this case?
Legal questions: What were the legal issues the court had to decide?
Decision or holdings: Did the court decide for the plaintiff or the defendant? Explain the reason behind the decision?
Verdict and opinion (judgement): What were the concurring and dissenting opinions? How many judges decided for the defendant and how many justices decided against the defendant? What was the final verdict from the judge or the jury, if it was a jury trial?
    Conclusion:
What was the resulting impact of the ruling? How did the citizens of your state benefit from it? Was this a good decision?
    Requirements
The length of your outline will vary. Usually an outline is anywhere from 1-3 pages long. Make sure to write full sentences to explain your case. It is a concise list to be used as a reference for you during the presentation.
Using the outline, you will be describing the court case in your presentation and the scenario around the court case. The use of Wikipedia as a primary source of information is to be avoided – it is not a reliable source of information.
Search for an example of a case outline in the Internet. Without going into much detail at this state, each of the items listed above has a subject sentence with 3-6 bullet points that can help you expand on the topic.
For Week 7, you will be creating a narrated PowerPoint, or a video as approved by your instructor, from this week’s outline.
This assignment is worth 200 points.
    1-inch margins
    Double spaced
    12-point Times New Roman font
    Title page
References page (minimum of 2 scholarly sources in addition to textbook if cited)

  • “Exploring the Relationship between Economic Inequality and Political Instability: A Quantitative Analysis” Introduction: Political scientists have long been interested in understanding the causes of political instability, particularly in developing countries. One theory that has gained significant attention in recent years

Write an introduction. It needs to, at minimum, include the broad theory in which your research question is situated, and your thesis statement (based on the research question you posted in our earlier assignment)–(this is not a copy and paste of your earlier assignment, you will use that assignment to inform your final write-up). By now, you should be familiar with how thesis statements are written in political science journal articles. Use that approach in your thesis statement. Our focus is on quantitative analysis. Label the section “Introduction” e.g.,: Introduction:
Here, you write your introduction. Include your broad theory, thesis statement, engage readers.
Then, write a “Data and Methods” section (label it). In this section, you will discuss what datasets you would use. (You do not need to collect the data or analyze it). You need to clearly describe the data sources, these must be real existing sources.
You need to cite these sources in the “Works Cited”, and to clearly explain what variables you would use and how you would use the data to measure those variables, explain how you would recode those variables in Stata and how you’d clean the data. The data for those variables need to be in the data sources you propose to use. Write this section in the following manner:
Discuss and describe the data source and data you would use.
    State your hypothesis.
Describe the variables and how these are measured using the existing data sources, along with any data cleaning details.
Explain how you would test your hypothesis using regression analysis. Why are you using this methodology? What are the advantages and disadvantages of using this methodology? How would could your model be improved? Explain. Your submission must be no longer than 700 words. Professional writing is concise. Edit your document to stay within the limits. This is one of the challenges of the exercise.

  • “Exploring the Use of Qualitative Research in Dissertation Proposals: A Comprehensive Guide”

I will be using Qualitative over Quantitive.
    The Research Proposal
The research proposal is an important working document and which over the next few months becomes transformed into the dissertation. The research proposal shows that you have thought through what the main research objectives are to be, that you have identified the main sources of primary and secondary data and that you have given thought as to the research methodology. The Proposal should provide your dissertation supervisor with a ‘detailed skeleton’ of the whole dissertation; the fine details are added when the literature review is completed, and the primary research has been undertaken.
    The research proposal should include:
    a) A working title
Your title can and probably will change but using precise wording even at this early stage will help to keep your dissertation properly focussed.
    b) An Introduction to the Topic
This will include a brief description of the topic, the aim, research objectives and research questions to be addressed
You will find that moving from research aim to research objectives, to research questions is quite a difficult task. This, however, will provide a clear focus to your research and help you structure both this research proposal and the final dissertation.
The aim of the research provides a description of what you want to achieve from carrying out this research.
The objectives of the research outline the particular issues that you need to address in order to achieve the aim above. They are more specific than the aim, in that they outline the particular dimensions of your research topic, which are relevant to the overall aim of your research.
The research questions are more specific than your research objectives and specify the various insights/information that need to be collected in order to achieve the objectives. Keep in mind that the research question often starts with a Why, How, or What.
    c) A Preliminary Literature Review that indicates:
    (i) That you have studied the work of the major authors in your research field
(ii) That you are familiar with the major themes relevant to that subject area
(iii) What further investigations you intend to pursue as part of this dissertation.
You should bear in mind that you are reviewing the literature in order to develop sharper, more insightful and focused research questions about your topic. Therefore, your literature review should lead to and justify your research objectives and questions.
    d) The Detailed Research Methodology which you intend to employ. The methodology section should discuss what methods you are going to use in order to address the research objectives of your dissertation. You need to justify why the chosen methods were selected as the most appropriate for your research, amongst the many alternative ones, given its specific objectives, and constraints you may face in terms of access, time and so on. Reference to general advantages and disadvantages of various methods and techniques without specifying their relevance to your choice decision is unacceptable. Remember to relate the methods back to the needs of your research question.
    e) Timetable detailing how you anticipate completing the dissertation by the submission date and, if a company-based project, the means of liaising with the company to ensure the specific objectives are achieved.
