Fax Procedures
You work at the headquarters of Prudent Development Corporation. Your supervisor, Dalila Waters, asks you to prepare a well-designed one-page list of common procedures to be followed for successful fax transmissions. The procedures list is to be faxed to the office manager at the Denver branch. She also wants you to compose a short memo to include with the procedures.
1. Compose and key a document using Microsoft Office Word that lists procedures for successful fax-to-fax transmission. Follow effective document design guidelines including bullet or numbered lists. Save the document as Fax Procedures and submit through this link. This information is listed in your textbook. You must use the exact steps listed.
2. Create a memo (you must use the correct memo format we learned in class). Compose a memo to Edwardo Cruz, Office Manager. In the memo, explain that this list is to be distributed to all fax users at the Denver location. Also ask him to write any additions or comments on the list and return it to you within three days. The memo should be in proper format (refer to figure 4-13 if necessary to review format of memo). Save the memo as Ch. 6 Memo and submit through this link.
3. Create a fax cover sheet to send with the memo and the fax procedures document. Use the cover sheet in Figure 6-1 as an example, or use a fax cover sheet template from Microsoft Office Word. Save the file as Fax Cover Sheet and submit through his link.

The small business for which you work has decided to purchase smartphones for the five employees of the company. You have been asked to do research and report on the features and services of three smartphones.
1. Use the Internet or local service providers as your sources of information. Prepare a table in Microsoft Office Word that compares the three phones. Include the phone brand or maker, model/name, phone features or services, and price for each phone. That equals four columns. Consider both the purchase price for the phone and the cost of service plans.
2. Prepare a memo from you to the company manager, Helen Patel. Use the current date and an appropriate subject line. Let Ms. Patel know that you have completed the research she requested on smartphones. Tell which phone you think would be the best choice for the company’s employees.
