  • The Escalating Costs of Healthcare and the Importance of Person-Centered Care Evaluation of Written Work: Completeness, Quality, Understanding, Grammar, and APA Formatting

Using what you have learned in your assigned readings and in your own experiences, craft a double-spaced essay of  2 pages (not counting title/reference pages), but no more to respond to the assignment below. In addition to your book, use one additional source for information to be included on your reference page.
Book  Yoder-Wise, P. S. & Sportsman, S. (2023). Leading and Managing in Nursing 8th edition Leading and managing in nursing (8th ed.). Mosby.
To complete this essay, you may pull from your experiences in current or past healthcare organizations or ask for input from a nurse regarding their healthcare organization and/or unit.
Without identifying that organization, describe the following:
What factors did you encounter there that were evidence of the escalating health care costs?
How are staff made aware of concerns such as costs, charges, and revenue in relation to patient services, such as a visit, hospital stay, supplies, or procedures?
How do staff receive feedback or communication related to the financial needs of the organization?
How do staff have an influence on costs, charges, and revenue? Think about staffing and productivity.
Are staff involved in the budgeting process? If so, how?
Why is person-centered care a focal point in healthcare delivery?  Describe the characteristics you view as being evidence of that model.
Describe the roles and responsibilities of nursing staff when using person-centered care. How does this model positively or negatively impact patient care? Impact nursing satisfaction?
Special Notes to assist in your success:
    YOU MAY USE FIRST PERSON.
But, understand this is an essay and should be written in a scholarly manner, not like a conversation.  When relating a real-life example, it is easy to fall into using run-on sentences, incorrect grammar, and slang terms.  So, be mindful that your essay sounds professional.
Understand you are relating real life examples for the PURPOSE of expounding on what you have learned from the concepts in your readings.  You should first describe the assigned concepts and use the examples as a means of linking the concepts in your assigned readings to real life or how the concepts apply to real practice.  Focus less on describing your account of the example and more on relaying your new knowledge.  Look into the description of your assignment for those keywords that tie back to your assigned readings.  Think of writing an essay to someone who knows nothing of the subject you are studying.  Use your example to “show off” your new knowledge.
Here is a more specific example:  If your assignment called for you to describe types of conflict and provide an example of a conflict you have observed.  You would not run on like you were conversing about the details of the conflict.  You would provide details about the concept of conflict and touch on what you have observed only as a supporting example.
    Like so:
Conflict occurring between people is known as interpersonal conflict and is the most common type of conflict. I personally observed an example of interpersonal conflict as two employees were showing visible signs of hostility towards each other(Folse, 2015).
Remember to review the instructions, the related key points on the study guide, and the rubric for the learning exercises one last time before submitting just to ensure you don’t overlook any of the required items.
Review your essay; if you don’t see the key terms from your assignment/readings and have citations/references to your textbooks – you have not sufficiently linked the example to the concepts assigned.
SUBMIT IN A WORD DOCUMENT, not a PDF or PAGES file.

research for current scholarly evidence (no older than 5 years) to support your nursing actions. In addition, consider visiting government sites such as the CDC, WHO, AHRQ, Healthy People 2020. Provide a detailed scientific rationale justifying the inclusion of this evidence in your plan.
Next determine the ICD-10 classification (diagnoses). The International Classification of Diseases, Ninth Revision, Clinical Modification (ICD-10-CM) is the official system used in the United States to classify and assign codes to health conditions and related information.
    Download the access codes.
Download the SOAP template to help you design a holistic patient care plan. Utilize the SOAP guidelines to assist you in creating your SOAP note and building your plan of care. You are expected to develop a comprehensive SOAP note based on the given assessment, diagnosis, and advanced nursing interventions. Reflect on what you have learned about care plans through independent research and peer discussions and incorporate the knowledge that you have gained into your patient’s care plan. If the information is not in the provided scenario please consider it normal for SOAP note purposes, if it is abnormal please utilize what you know about the disease process and write what you would expect in the subjective and objective areas of your note.

  • “Incorporating Evidence-Based Decision-Making Models for Person-Centered Care Planning”

During this module of study, I hope to learn how to incorporate evidence-based decision-making models in planning for the coordination of person-centered care. By using different cases and examples for study, I understood that effective healthcare management requires not only clinical knowledge but also strategic decision-making that is supported by evidence. For example, algorithmic approaches to healthcare decision-making models would differ in terms of the type and level of complexity depending on situational variables involved in care. Cultural and ethical awareness within the decision-making processes is another aspect that needs consideration, given that this is another essential modifier of patient outcomes and satisfaction. It is necessary to carefully delve into various decision-making frameworks and their applicability to different clinical scenarios to ensure that care is both high-quality and tailored to individual patient needs.
The knowledge of evidence-based decision-making models aligns with Course Outcome 1, which states that healthcare professionals should incorporate these models in planning for the coordination of person-centred care. By acknowledging these models, I aim to be able to understand how the best decision in any given situation can be arrived at, given that the process is grounded on sound evidence and practice. Moreover, identifying the roles of cultural and ethical factors in decision-making will improve my resource management and delivery of care that is culturally sensitive and suitable for patient’s backgrounds. Finally, with an understanding of these evidence-based models, I strive to increase my competency in monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of care plans in ensuring a high standard of safety and quality. This exhaustive preparation will allow me to make a positive contribution towards the formation of effective and patient-oriented health care programs.

  • Title: Annotated Bibliography on Technology in Nursing: Impact on Patient Safety, Quality of Care, and Interdisciplinary Team Collaboration “Enhancing Quality and Safety in Nursing through Evidence-Based Implementation of Technology: An Annotated Bibliography and Proposal” “Annotated Bibliography: Selected Technology in a Health Care Setting”

Please follow instrucctions/directions to the exact descripition it is imperative. I have uploaded two sample papers that go along with htis assigment. The reference guide is important that you list all references listed accorfing to the sample guide. Thank you.
    Introduction
This assessment will give you the opportunity to deepen your knowledge of how technology can enhance quality and safety standards in nursing. You will prepare an annotated bibliography on technology in nursing. A well-prepared annotated bibliography is a comprehensive commentary on the content of scholarly publications and other sources of evidence about a selected nursing-related technology. A bibliography of this type provides a vehicle for workplace discussion to address gaps in nursing practice and to improve patient care outcomes. As nurses become more accountable in their practice, they are being called upon to expand their role of caregiver and advocate to include fostering research and scholarship to advance nursing practice. An annotated bibliography stimulates innovative thinking to find solutions and approaches to effectively and efficiently address these issues.
    Professional Context
Rapid changes in information technology go hand-in-hand with progress in quality health care delivery, nursing practice, and interdisciplinary team collaboration. Technology is essential to the advancement of the nursing profession, maintaining quality care outcomes, patient safety, and research.
    Preparation
Before you begin to develop the assessment, you are encouraged to complete the Annotated Bibliography Formative Assessment. Completing this activity will help you succeed with the assessment and counts towards course engagement.
To successfully complete this assessment, perform the following preparatory activities:
Review the technologies presented in the Assessment 03 Supplement: Evidence-Based Proposal and Annotated Bib on Tech in Nursing [PDF] Download Assessment 03 Supplement: Evidence-Based Proposal and Annotated Bib on Tech in Nursing [PDF]resource and select one of the options to use as the focus for this assessment.
Direct patient care technologies require an interaction, or direct contact, between the nurse and patient. Nurses use direct patient care technologies every day when delivering care to patients. Electronic thermometers or pulse oximeters are examples of direct patient care technologies.
Indirect patient care technologies, on the other hand, are those employed on behalf of the patient. They do not require interaction, or direct contact, between the nurse and patient. A handheld device for patient documentation is an example of an indirect patient care technology.
Conduct a library search using the various electronic databases available through the Capella University Library.
Consult the BSN Program Library Research Guide for help in identifying scholarly and/or authoritative sources.
Access the NHS Learner Success Lab, linked in the courseroom navigation menu, for additional resources.
Scan the search results related to your chosen technology.
Select four peer-reviewed publications focused on your selected topic that are the most interesting to you.
Evaluate the impact of patient care technologies on desired outcomes.
Analyze current evidence on the impact of a selected patient care technology on patient safety, quality of care, and the interdisciplinary team.
Integrate current evidence about the impact of a selected patient care technology on patient safety, quality of care, and the interdisciplinary team into a recommendation.
    Notes
Publications may be research studies or review articles from a professional source. Newspapers, magazines, and blogs are not considered professional sources.
Your selections need to be current—within the last five years.

  • “Reflecting on NRSG 680: Personal Growth and Future Contributions to the Nursing Profession” “The Impact of NRSG 680: Advancing My Mindset of Growth in Research and Nursing Practice” “Advancing Nursing Practice Through Evidence-Based Care: Reflections on Goals and Mentorship”

    Megan,
The course exceeded my expectations as a continuation of what we gained from part one of this course. I anticipated further diving into our research study and constructing it; however, it was more detailed than anticipated. Working up until the last week and leaning more towards developing the research study was different from what we previously focused on. Nevertheless, I thoroughly enjoyed the class, and it provided a solid foundation for future research. One of the most valuable lessons I learned through the course was completing the institutional review board. Personally, I do not see myself conducting my own research study, but I see multiple valuable lessons within the course. Admittedly, I struggled with the presentation at the end, limiting what to share when we worked for the last sixteen weeks leading up to the final project. Ultimately, I have gained knowledge that will help throughout the remainder of our program. The ability to present a presentation boosted my confidence as I am typically embarrassed to speak in public. Each week, I found the content in the course to be well-developed and thought out; I did not find anything I was unsure about. The statistical section was a little more challenging, but with the additional resources, I was able to comprehend it. If I were to suggest an area for more coverage, I would choose additional resources or examples of the institutional review board application since I felt part of it did not apply to our project, which made it slightly confusing.
Because of this course, how have you changed personally, professionally, and/or spiritually? How can you use research to serve God and humanity in your future role?
Looking back on the last eight weeks, this course has helped me grow and change personally, professionally, and spiritually. At a personal development level, pretending I am conducting a research project and the implications into practice, completing the application and presentation challenged my critical thinking. Time management is typically something I continue to grow in when working full-time and being a full-time student. Creating a balance to allow me to excel in both aspects of my life is important. My time management improvements impact my professional and personal obligations in a positive manner as well. I have continued to completely immerse myself within the course and learning objectives, allowing me to expand my knowledge and professional growth to become a family nurse practitioner. Thinking about all the various aspects involved in conducting and creating an evidence-based practice study provides me with an appreciation for our nurse researchers and the possibility of the future of healthcare. The course ultimately will assist in helping me to understand what it takes to provide quality, evidence-based practice care for my patients. Spiritually, I have grown just as relying on him not to feel overwhelmed and validate why I am working so hard. I have grown on a spiritual level as I am reflecting more often. I can use research to serve God and humanity in my future role in multiple ways. One, I can address social issues and allow with principles of social justice when researching healthcare disparities or seeking out evidence-based solutions. I can also feel empowered to serve the underserved and advocate for vulnerable populations.
Reflect on your goals created in week eight of NRSG 679. How might you use your newly attained knowledge for contribution to the profession of nursing, advanced nursing practice specific to your track, for your lifelong learning? Identify a role model(s) and/or mentor(s) to support your professional growth as you continue through the program.
I had developed three goals for NRSG 680. As a refresher, one goal I created was to develop the necessary skills to design and implement research projects further. Another goal was to strengthen my collaboration and communication skills. Finally, the last goal was to commit to the mindset of growth. I feel like I have accomplished these goals throughout the last eight weeks. I can utilize my new knowledge to contribute to professional nursing, my advanced practice career, and lifelong learning. I will be able to contribute by understanding the rigorous protocols and effort it takes to develop evidence-based practice and disseminate quality research. On my lifelong learning journey, having mentors and role models who can support my professional growth is important. One role model I have who inspires me is a recent Olivet graduate who is an APN at my clinic. She is committed to advocating for patient-centered care, which aligns closely with my aspirations for their knowledge in dermatology. I have always admired the way she balanced school and professional work life. I plan to continue to look to her for guidance in navigating. Additionally, I am fortunate to have my physician as a mentor. Their guidance and motivation have been invaluable in providing constructive feedback and encouraging me to strive for excellence in my professional endeavors. To conclude, NRSG 680 helped provide the learning tools needed to contribute to healthcare through evidence-based practice. With the help of my role models and mentors, I am set up for success to further develop as a nurse leader and advocate for high-quality patient care.
    Ankit,
This course exceeded my expectations by comprehensively exploring research methodologies and their application in clinical settings. The practical steps for implementing a study provided a deeper understanding and advanced learning. The inclusion of real-world applications and detailed discussions on each phase of research preparation enriched my learning experience significantly. The most crucial learning experience was understanding the detailed process of developing and implementing a research study from conception to execution. Learning to craft a PICOT question and navigating through the complexities of retrospective study designs, data analysis, and ethical considerations were particularly valuable. These skills directly apply to clinical research and evidence-based practice in nursing, making them indispensable for my future role as an APN. While the course was comprehensive, a more in-depth exploration of advanced statistical methods and software tools for data analysis could have been beneficial. Understanding these tools and their applications in various research contexts would enhance my ability to handle complex data sets and perform sophisticated analyses. Overall, this course has provided a robust foundation in research methodologies, emphasizing practical application in the clinical setting. The skills and knowledge gained will be pivotal in conducting meaningful research and advancing evidence-based practice in nursing.
Because of this course, how have you changed personally, professionally, and/or spiritually? How can you use research to serve God and humanity in your future role?
On a personal level, this course has fostered a deeper appreciation for the discipline and rigor of research. It has also sparked a stronger sense of curiosity and critical thinking, driving me to continually seek evidence to inform decisions. Professionally, this course has bolstered my confidence in conducting research and applying evidence-based practices in my nursing role. I now feel more prepared to contribute to clinical guidelines and protocols based on robust research. Spiritually, contemplating the role of research in serving others has reinforced my commitment to using my skills to make a meaningful impact on patient care and healthcare systems. I view research as a means to honor God by enhancing the quality of life for patients and their families through informed and compassionate care. In my future role as an APN, I will use research to enhance patient outcomes, develop better care protocols, and contribute to the broader healthcare knowledge base. This aligns with serving God and humanity by ensuring that patient care is grounded in the best available evidence, thereby improving the health and well-being of the communities I serve.
During week eight of NRSG 679, I set goals to enhance my research skills and apply them to enhance clinical practice. This course has equipped me with the tools and knowledge to achieve these goals. I now intend to contribute to my current nursing career by engaging in research that informs best practices and supports evidence-based care. I also plan to contribute to my future APN career by applying my research skills to develop innovative solutions to clinical problems within my specialty.
