This is my first writing assignment for the class, I do have a child with a serious condition severe Hemophilia. I possibly want to go into the nursing field but I’m unsure. I also want to work within the Hemophilia organization some how as an advocate.

The diversity of both students and faculty poses important considerations for teaching and learning. Reflect on the characteristic differences in gender, race, and culture, as well as the differences among the diverse generations in today’s nursing education classroom. When considering your personal philosophy of teaching, discuss how you might use these characteristic differences and diverse backgrounds and experiences of today’s nursing students as a teaching tool to connect students to nursing content and increase their understanding. In other words, how might you incorporate the background and experiences of your students into your teaching methods to enhance the ability of all students in your classroom to think critically and problem solve patient-care issues?

Purpose of Assignment
This assignment will help to identify the normal growth and development by topic for each age group. In the final column of the assignment, you need to observe a child and apply the information you gathered and document your findings in comparison by the particular age of that child.
Competency
Compare principles of growth and development when caring for pediatric clients.
Explain the topics in the worksheet by age. Identify one milestone and one expected norm for each category by age group.
After you fill out the milestones and expected norms for each category by age group, observe a child of any age for 30 minutes to an hour, and apply the knowledge that you learned to the child you are observing and record this information in the purple Observation Data column.

The Adolescent Patient: Building Trust and Rapport
David is a 15-year-old male who presents for his annual physical exam. When the provider asks if there are any issues or concerns, David’s mother states that he is irritable all the time, has occasional outbursts, and recently began spending more time alone in his room and less time with his friends. She also states that she has noticed that David is staying up later and is difficult to awaken for school. When asked, both David and his mother admit that his grades have gone from A’s and B’s to mainly D’s. When interviewing David, you noticed he does not maintain eye contact and gives you short answers, mostly, “yes,” or “no,” responses.
Answer the following questions in 2–3 pages, excluding title and reference page.
How will you approach taking a more detailed medical and psychosocial history?
When obtaining the social history, what are the important questions to ask?
When obtaining the family history, what are the important questions to ask?
What if anything in David’s medical history is important to know?
What other information about David’s recent behavior should be obtained from his mother?

Assignment Overview
Select one low- or middle-income country, and investigate the health disparities experienced by people living in that region. Identify one disparity as the topic for this assignment, and investigate that disparity to learn more about the contributing factors and the impact of the disparity on the health of people living in that region. Consider how this issue is similar to and different in a high income country of your choosing, and investigate interventions to reduce the disparity.
In a 10 – 14 slide PowerPoint presentation, address the following elements. Include a minimum of 4 scholarly sources, current within 5 years, to support your work. See rubric for specific, required content criteria within each section of the presentation:
Provide an introduction to the presentation.
Provide an overview of the selected health disparity, the factors that contribute to the disparity, and the overall impact of the disparity on the health and well-being of people in that region.
Describe how this issue is similar and different in a selected high-income country, and explain the reasons for those similarities and differences.
Discuss at least two interventions to reduce the disparity, and explain how international health collaboration can promote health equity.

Formal, scholarly writing style with complete sentence and paragraph structure should be used to create the speaker notes.
Scholarly literature support should be integrated within the speaker notes.
Speaker notes assure that all assignment expectations and key points are covered.

The media portrays many images of nursing, some favorable and some unfavorable.
Does media portrayal of nursing affect how patients perceive nurses as authority figures? Why or why not? Think about nursing stereotypes and discuss the ways you can influence the public image of nursing.
Discuss the various roles nurses can play that support the real image of nursing. Think about community health care and preventive services for all, but especially the underserved.
