The focus of this project should be directed toward applications to your work, and career. Your project may include some or all of the above. Additional information should include case analyses, quantitative data, qualitative data, and other material that help support your mastery of this material. Suggested assignments to include are 2.2, 3.1 and/or 3.2, 4.2, and 5.1 (DO NOT copy and paste the assignments into your final project! The material should flow well). Please see Week 6 Assignments for more information. This project will be due in the last week of this course. 
This week, you will research and select a SCLM topic that incorporates one of the bullet points mentioned above.
Select a topic that you are interested in. Write a 1 page (double-spaced) essay explaining your project.

Deliver a video presentation. Drawing content from LOG401’s discussions, cases, and SLPs, craft your video based on the most important lessons about the industry and trends for the future.
You may use visuals to deliver the message.
Write a 200- to 250-word document that is the basis of your presentation. The document must include references and citations or attributions. (Research Required)

You can talk about the same content that is written but don’t read it. Impromptu speaking has a different impact than reading from a screen or paper.

Select an article based on supply chain management. Focus on supply chain disruptions that have impacted the supply chain for automobiles or electronic products. Resources contained in the Bellevue University Online Library Database System are highly recommended. After reading through the article, review the article using the following format with the headings indicated in bold below:

Summary: The article should be summarized (using your own words) in two to three paragraphs and focus on the author’s main points.

You will prepare a distribution improvement strategy for the Hunt Company.  Recently, the company began outsourcing its manufacturing to overseas companies.  Due to this recent change, they have suffered various issues and problems with their distribution processes.  
Instructions:  Read the Hunt Company case study on pages 85-88 of the Hugos textbook for additional information pertaining to the challenges, issues, and problems facing the company.  In a 3-4 page written paper, address the following items in your distribution improvement strategy:
1.     The major facts of the case study.
2.     The main problems or issues facing the Hunt Company.
3.     The possible solutions to these problems or issues (1-3 solutions).
4.     Rationale for these solutions using concepts, terms, processes, procedures, and/or real-world examples discussed in the course materials.
5.     The main steps to implement the new strategy or plan.
Please remember to include a title page, in-text citations, and reference page in APA style.  The title page and reference page are not included in the page count.

This assignment asks you to draw on your learnings from the unit to demonstrate that you can effectively analyse hazard risks and risk responses; use bowtie analysis; analyse risk prevention plus cost containment along with mitigation strategies; understand and formulate business continuity plans and processes; control for financial risks; and understand the importance of internal organisational risk culture. Ultimately, you will communicate all of these learnings in the form of your report.

Within your main discussion, you will need to include three sections:
The first section assesses your knowledge about risk responses to hazard risks with the use of a bowtie analysis to focus on before, during and after responses.
The second section aims to evaluate your understanding of concepts of business continuity using a business continuity planning model, plus an understanding of the importance of planning for business continuity.
The third section assesses your analysis of financial hazard risk controls, and how to implement them. You are also asked to consider the effect of internal culture and how a poor internal culture may lead to internal fraud.
Section 1 (approximately 750 words)
You are the new risk manager based at a rural university campus called Alpha University in Victoria. Due to its rural bush setting, bushfires are an ongoing major threat to the campus. You are required to:

– prevent bushfire risks and associated losses before they happen (Loss prevention)

Unfortunately, weather reports indicate that the Alpha University campus is about to be flooded sometime in the coming week.

(Hopkin, 2018, p. 207) of your eText to formulate a business continuity plan for Alpha University’s campus based on the specific oncoming threat of flooding.
Provide a brief justification to the Chief Operations Officer of Alpha University why you believe BCP is very important.

Section 3 (approximately 1000 words)
It has come to your attention that there has been some internal fraud on-campus at Alpha University. You discover that two staff in the Accounts department have been paying money into their own bank accounts based on paying false invoices they fraudulently created. You discover a large number of false invoices that detail companies that do not exist for work that was never done for Alpha University. This fraud has been carried out over the past four years and payments based on these false invoices now amount to $50,000 each stolen by these two staff members.
What are some of the hazard risk controls specifically related to fraud you can implement to prevent/detect/correct/minimise this type of fraud? The Case Study link below is for the Case Study 3. Read and study the case and address each of the questions at the end of the study. In addressing each of the questions, create a Power Point presentation to include the following:
– Problem
– Identify and describe alternative solutions
– Justify your recommendations for EACH question
Part II: In addition to the Power Point presentation, a 10-15 minute video will be required using Kaltura. In this video you will summarize your findings from your Powerpoint. This part of the assignment will provide the visual presentation of the case study. 
Instructions: Attach two files to the Case Study #3 assignment: 1) Power Point presentation (.ppt or .pptx file) and 2) Kaltura video. To access Kaltura, click on the “Insert Stuff” icon on the toolbar of the Comments Box at the bottom of this screen.
Now, if you have trouble with Kaltura, you can use Youtube of any other video method. The point is to show you presenting your slides to the class. And just don’t read the words on the slides. Talk about what each slide means.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS 
Please read the attached Automotive Spare Parts Ltd Case, put yourself in Jacobs’ place and write a report (maximum 2000) to your boss, Ollie Prout. Specifically: 
You are required to do a manual MRP explosion for the sidelamps and headlamps of the next six weeks (beginning with the current week). Assume that it is now the start of week 11. (30%) 
Fill in the Start Assembly/planned order release form provided in Table 4. It should show the Start Assembly/planned order releases for all items for the next six weeks. Include it in your report. (10%) 
Your report should identify the good and bad points of MRP implementation at Automotive Spare Parts. Supplement your report with worksheets on the manual MRP explosion indicating where adjustments must be made for start assembly/order releases and scheduled receipts. Conclude by making suggestions for change. (20%) 
Your boss wants you to use the data provided in Table 5 to create the HEADLAMP as a new product in SAP Business ByDesign. You MUST follow the instruction shown in Table 5 about the Product ID which is highlighted in RED font. After creating the product successfully, you are required to snap shots the SAP Business ByDesign screens for the HEADLAMP product after creation (at least 4 screen shots are required).
