For this assignment, you are required to write research paper.
Requirement: Using the terms, concepts, and theories learned in this course, write a 5 to 7 page (not including cover and reference page) research paper focusing on one topic that we have studied over the past seven weeks. I would like you to go into detail as to how this topic can be incorporated into the career that you intend to pursue after earning your degree. You should avoid writing in the first person (using the “I” statements). Your paper is required to be written in APA format. The Purdue O.W.L. can be a very useful resource.
Your essay will address these items:
A specific organizational item covered in the past seven weeks. (Decsion Making and Commuincations)  Give examples using the terms and concepts in the readings, APUS Library, and/or from the weekly Discussions.
Save your paper in a Word document with your name included in the file name.

Paper Format:
A. Title Page – Include a title page formatted using APA style. Include the APA formatted Header.
B. Executive Summary (We use Executive Summaries in business, not Abstracts).
C. Introductory Paragraph – Include an introductory paragraph that includes your thesis sentence.
You should support your thesis with supporting paragraphs and a concluding paragraph, using APA style and section headings. Be sure to include theories, models, terms, concepts, and principles, with examples, learned throughout the course.
D. Reference Page – Include all sources on a Reference page formatted in APA style.
Five references are required with a minimum of three coming from the APUS Library. Wikipedia and other wikis are not allowed as sources. Online encyclopedias, dictionaries, etc. may be used, but will not count in fulfilling your required number of references.
Punctuation, grammar, and documentation count toward your grade.

Part 1: Reference Sheet
Using your school’s budget and CIP/SIP, develop a reference sheet that identifies a total of 7-10 school budget line items across three or more budget account categories and align them to the school’s vision, mission, and CIP/SIP. Remember the CIP/SIP should drive the budget.  
Use the “Reference Sheet Template” to complete this assignment. If you are unable to obtain a copy of the school budget, use the “Arizona Chart of Accounts,” as a resource for account codes and line items.
Part 2: Reflection
On the “Reference Sheet Template,” write a 250-500 word reflection that explains how the budget line items and categories align to the school’s vision, mission, and CIP/SIP. Reflect on why it is the principal’s responsibility to ensure that the budget aligns to the school’s mission, vision, and continuous improvement initiatives.
This assignment uses a rubric. Review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion.

Knowing the difference between applied and basic research is necessary to develop an effective research study. The difference between basic research and applied research lies in their respective aims. 
Basic research refers to research aimed at acquiring new, fundamental knowledge and theoretical understanding of basic human and other natural processes without any particular application in view. 
Applied research also is conducted as an original investigation to acquire new knowledge, but it is primarily directed toward practical objectives with the aim of providing relatively immediate solutions.
This assignment has two parts. Complete Parts 1 and 2 below. 
Part 1: Article Analysis
Locate an applied research article on a topic in your program of study (e.g., DBA, DHA, DM, EDD) from the University Library. To familiarize yourself with the different applied designs, review the qualitative and quantitative research designs in the CDS Dissertation Guide on CDS Central.
Key words to use while searching for an article in the library might include action research, program evaluation, etc. 
Write a 350- to 525-word analysis about what makes the study discussed in the article applied versus basic research and do the following: 
Identify the article topic (e.g., education, business, health care) and provide a link to the article.
Explain how the study in the article addresses a real-world, practical problem.
Explain how the results of the study could impact people’s lives, work, health, and/or general well-being.
Part 2: Access and Permission Considerations
An important aspect of choosing a topic is access or the ability to conduct your study. For example, you may want to know how leaders in a particular company use social media to increase sales, but they are unwilling to talk to you. If you are not able to gain access to the leaders, then you will not be able to gather the data you need for your study.
Additionally, when selecting a topic for your study, consider whether conducting the study would involve talking to protected classes of people or vulnerable populations. Federal regulations require protecting the welfare of vulnerable subjects who may not be of age, have the authority or ability to speak for themselves, or are vulnerable in any other way.
Protected classes include the following:
children or minors under age 18
prisoners
pregnant women
people with cognitive impairments or mental disabilities
people who are educationally or economically disadvantaged
If you are considering conducting research with any of the protected classes of human subjects, consider options for completing your study in a different way. For example, instead of talking to minor children, talk to their parents. There are many creative options!
Write a 250- to 500-word summary in which you:
Identify what permissions will you need to access the people, organizations, and/or data to conduct your research.
Identify who you might need to consult to gain permission to conduct your study.
Explain what potential issues you might encounter.
Explain how you might address these potential issues.
Compile Part 1 and Part 2 into one document for submission.

Please answer the following questions to demonstrate your understanding of evaluation concepts, the purposes of evaluation, and various evaluation models. Explain the primary purposes of evaluation. 
Distinguish between formative and summative evaluation. Provide examples of when each type might be used.
How does evaluation support evidence-based decision-making within organizations? 
Part 3: Evaluation Models (40 points)
Describe Kirkpatrick’s Four-Level Model. What are the four levels, and what does each level assess? 
Provide an overview of the CIPP Model. Explain what each component (Context, Input, Process, Product) represents in this model.
Briefly explain the Logic Model and how it is used in the evaluation process.
Name and describe one additional evaluation model not covered in the module.

For each scenario, identify whether formative or summative evaluation would be more appropriate, and explain why.
Scenario 1: A company has just introduced a new training program for its employees to improve customer service skills. They want to ensure the program is effective and make necessary improvements before rolling it out to all employees.
Scenario 2: A non-profit organization has been running a literacy program for three years. They want to assess the overall impact of the program on participants’ reading abilities and determine whether it should continue to receive funding. 
Scenario 3: A government agency is implementing a new environmental conservation policy. They want to evaluate the policy’s effectiveness in reducing carbon emissions over the next decade.

Grading Rubric:
90-100 points: Excellent understanding of evaluation concepts and models.
70-89 points: Good understanding, with minor gaps in knowledge.
50-69 points: Adequate understanding but with significant gaps in knowledge.

Part 1: All Students
Write a brief statement indicating your degree program and the research topic you are considering.
If you are in the EDD or DM programs, include in your brief statement your intended elective track for your program. For example, if you are currently in the EDD with an Educational Leadership (EL) elective track, you can choose an elective track in Curriculum and Instruction (CI), Education Technology (ET), or Higher Education Administration (HEA).

Introduction: Begin your essay with a brief introduction that provides a general overview of climate change and the importance of political leadership in addressing this issue. You should also include your thesis statement in this section, which should clearly state your main argument or perspective on the role of politicians in climate change.
Background: Provide a brief background on the issue of climate change. Discuss the scientific consensus on climate change, its causes, and its potential impacts.
Role of Politicians: This is the main body of your essay. Discuss the role of politicians in climate change in detail. You can discuss how politicians can influence policies related to climate change, how they can raise awareness, and how they can lead by example. Use specific examples of politicians who have played a significant role in combating climate change.
