Final Project Part 3: Current Developments
In this part of the project, you need to submit your first weekly log summarizing the main points from a journal or newspaper article. For additional details on grading, please refer to the Course Syllabus which has a link to the Final Project Rubric which contains rubrics for Parts 1-4 of the Final Project and the Logs. Your log should adhere to the following guidelines:
Please use provided template to submit your weekly log (download the file below)
Your entry should be at least 300 words
It should include a complete citation of the newspaper article or journal
It should summarize the main points of the article
It should include your opinion of the article

Length: 250–300 words (research proposal), and a minimum of 10 entries (annotated bibliography)
Due: at the end of Unit 2 (approximately week 5)
Research Proposal
This is the first stage of your research paper/report. Submit a one-page document (approximately 250 to 300 words), using point form where appropriate. Outline and describe the process you went through to choose your research community, topic, and question. Explain why you decided to do research on this particular community, topic, and question. Describe your role in the community, whether you have permission to do the research, and the methods that you plan to use. Contact your tutor if you are unsure about how to proceed.
Annotated Bibliography
In addition to your research topic, submit a bibliography of grey literature and academic literature that you have collected to date (include 10–15 entries). Use the Chicago Manual of Style’s author-date format, as is used throughout.
After each bibliographic entry, provide an annotation, or brief descriiption, of what you have found and how it pertains to your research project. Here is an example of an annotation in a bibliography:
Agrawal, Arun. 1995. “Dismantling the Divide between Indigenous and Scientific Knowledge.” Development and Change 26: 413–439.
Although this article is over twenty years old, it is useful because it challenges the dichotomy of Indigenous and scientific knowledge. The article reminds the reader not to make assumptions and create “us and them” separations when defining terms.

Due: at the end of Unit 3 (approximately week 7)
Choose one of the sets of ethical guidelines provided in the Unit 3 readings and commentary. Describe your proposed research project and the methods you plan to use. Address how you will follow each of the given principles in your research project. Be sure to include an informed consent form. You may adapt and use the sample form found in Unit 3.
Upload your completed assignment as a single document for marking and approval from your tutor. YOU MUST RECEIVE PERMISSION FROM YOUR TUTOR TO PROCEED TO THE NEXT ASSIGNMENT. Failure to do so will result in a zero in this and subsequent assignments.
Assignment 2 Grading Criteria
Completeness of application (all principles considered, consent form included, etc.): 70%
Clarity and formatting: 30%

Length: 15–20 pages
Due: at the end of Unit 7 (approximately week 21)
Provide a written product that is the result of your community-based research project. It should be as long as it needs to be to answer your research question and to fully represent the information that you have gathered. Be sure that your formatting allows for the paper to be easily read. Reference any grey or academic literature that you use following the Chicago Manual of Style’s author-date format, as is used throughout ANTH 390.

Assignment 5 Grading Criteria
Clarity (grammar, sentence structure, format): 30%
Content: 50%
Creativity and reflection: 20%

In this discussion, you will consider interconnectedness as it relates to cultural systems, or shared cultures, and the role they play in addressing sustainability issues. 
For your initial post, address the following:
Explain what interconnectedness means to you.
How do you connect within your culture, local community, career field, or other contexts?
What is one popular culture example that relates to interconnectedness and sustainability?
Consider a song, television show, movie, video game, or fashion design that portrays connections with the earth, the environment, or other sustainability topics.
How well does your chosen example show the relationships between cultural systems, community, and sustainability? Explain.

Create a one-page news article about the death of a famous person. It has to have been caused by addiction (including steroid abuse) and its consequences. Please describe the substance abuse history of the person, the impact on the person’s life, any attempts to be treated for chemical dependency, and the precise cause of death. Be sure to consider Race, Gender and Class and their intersectionality. How did they attribute to the individuals abuse as well as any treatment (if any) that they received.
Feel free to be creative and include photos, graphics, etc. Besides MS Word you can also use MS Publisher or create a (readable) PDF.
You can write the article tabloid-style but have to make sure that the information is medically sound and that you include at least 2 references so that I can verify the information in your news report.

Q2. There are more learning theories than we discussed this week. Research one that we did not cover in the lecture; write a summary of it; and tell us how you would apply it in developing training.

Part A
Students will analyze each of the three different levels of the healthcare pyramid: i.e., primary, secondary, and tertiary care. In your analysis, contrast with the previous level of care. The analysis should include an example of each type of care.
Part B
For each level of care, describe one or two types of professionals that provide care at each level.
For each professional describe:
The type of education required
The types of services provided
Any type of certification/licensure needed to practice
Part C
For each level of care, cite two (2) examples of local institutions that fit the description.
For example, Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center would be an example of a tertiary care provider.
Format
Students should use the following format for their written assignment:
Your paper must be 1000–1200 words
Include your word count at the bottom of your paper. 
Use APA format and cite sources, as necessary. If you need a refresher on APA, reference the APA Library Guide  (located in Student Resources in the Course Orientation). Make sure that your paper is not plagiarized and includes all the appropriate citations and references.
Use Times Roman—12-point font.
Use double spaces.
Use professional objective, language.
The paper must include:
Cover Page—include course information, your name, and assignment name
Introduction/Purpose of assignment (one paragraph)
Content of Assignment (Part A, B and C)
Summary (What you’ve learned from the assignment/increase in your knowledge base)
