“Creating a City: My Values vs. Roman Values” My ideal city is called “Harmony City” and it is a modern, sustainable and inclusive city that reflects my personal values. In Harmony City, public buildings are designed to promote community engagement
This assignment requires a drawing. I am okay with just a rough draft of where things are and I will take it from there. Sources for this module are attached.
Cities show a lots about what our values are. You can see the Roman values of public culture, civic pride, and piety in its forums, basilicas, and temples. This assignment will have you create a city according to your own values and compare it to the cities of the Romans. Here is what you need to do:
Make a drawing or plan of your ideal city (it can be modern or futuristic). Be sure to include:
A. at least 7 public buildings (could be town hall, school, church, theaters, sports arena, parks… or none of these, what buildings do you want?)
B. Show the different zones: residential (where people live), commercial (where businesses are), and industrial (where stuff is made)
C. Make sure to show streets and any sort of mass transit you will have
D. Write a paragraph about why your city is the way it is. Compare your city to a Roman city. Make SURE TO MAKE THESE COMPARISONS WITH ROME. YOU WILL NOT GET A GOOD GRADE UNLESS YOU DO! -

Based on the identified needs, you will develop a collaborative care guide, including several essential elements. To create this guide, you will assess research findings to identify goals and evidence-based strategies to address these needs or gaps in services for both inpatient and post-discharge care. You will identify the recommendations you will make during the multidisciplinary care planning session, while being sure to address any financial deficits that are identified for the patient. In your work, you will incorporate appropriate medical terminology to enhance comprehension of care plan objectives for all stakeholders.
The project is divided into three milestones, each including elements of the final project. These milestones will be submitted at various points throughout the course to scaffold learning and ensure quality final submissions. Milestones will be submitted in Modules Three, Four, and Five. Develop basic strategies for addressing financial challenges faced by individual patients
Analyze the forces that have influenced the evolution of the U.S. healthcare system
Case Study
Jean is an 87-year-old woman who was admitted to Manchester Community Hospital, in Manchester, New Hampshire, after having a debilitating stroke that paralyzed the left half of her body. She is a widow, and her three adult children live in different states. She needs assistance eating, transferring to her wheelchair, and most other activities of daily living. Her medical issues related to the stroke are quickly being resolved, and it is time to begin assessing her needs for discharge and post-discharge. It is important to note that Jean’s savings have been totally depleted and her medical bills are mounting since her healthcare insurance has proven to be inadequate to cover her medical expenses. Her limited pension and social security barely covered her living expenses prior to her stroke and are unlikely to cover the escalating expenses that she will undoubtedly encounter based on her medical condition. Moreover, Jean has been clinically diagnosed with PTSD after being raped by a neighbor in her home two years ago. She is still grappling with the effects of the trauma, even as the criminal case against the perpetrator slowly moves forward. Although her family modified the home to make it more secure and less vulnerable to intrusion, her current lack of mobility is weighing heavily on her psychologically. Despite her current issues, Jean derives great comfort from her faith as a devout Catholic. She typically has a wonderful sense of humor and is highly organized, having worked as an elementary school teacher during her earlier years. She participates regularly in the local garden club and on her neighborhood welcoming committee. She has a wide circle of friends with whom she interacts. Her children are currently staying in Manchester to oversee her care and to contribute to the development of her post-discharge care plan. It is unclear whether any of the children will stay on after her discharge to help care for Jean, but this seems unlikely unless considered essential by the medical team. An interdisciplinary team is being developed to design a comprehensive plan for Jean’s post-discharge care. -

“Uncovering the Complexities of Racism in the United States: A Critical Analysis of Historical Processes and Contemporary Realities”
The History of Racism in the United States
Purpose: To demonstrate what you’ve learned from our first book-length reading and the extent to which it’s expanded your conceptual framework for understanding race.
Outcomes:
Analyze how individual and structural factors contribute to racial inequity in the United States
Evaluate your own position of marginalization or privilege within the complex social framework of the United States.
Construct a coherently organized thesis-driven essay with a clear sense of purpose.
Analyze the impact of race and socialization on expressions of social position in the United States.
Demonstrate perspective-taking and self-reflection appropriate to context.
Task: Choose one of the follow prompts and write a 4-5 page essay in response.
The text we’ve read provides great deal of historical perspective on racial politics in the United States. Describe the processes of articulation, containment, rearticulation and rollback and then examine one example of rearticulation and rollback from after the civil rights movement that previously influenced the way you understood the history of racism in the United States. Explain how it impacted your thinking and behavior.
A sizeable portion of the text is dedicated to the meaning of Race – the Ethnicity, Class, and Nation paradigms, the ocular dimension of race, and the way representation has successfully changed, at least in part, the meaning of different racial categories. Explain how the concepts of Racialization and Racial Formation refute the past paradigms, and what these theories help us understand, then examine at least one example of racialization in action and explain the political context.
What can we learn from the social movements of the past? In thinking about the mass protests of 2020, what strategies still seem to work, and which ones don’t? Explain what’s changed that needs to be accounted for: what terms and slogans have been rearticulated? What technologies (whether LRAD sound cannons or smart phones and the tension between our ability to post video on social media and the State’s ability to spy on whoever it choses).
(Bonus option): Put real critical pressure on the idea of race as master category. Must there be a master category? Does this add anything substantial to the conversation? Is it even fair to women? How does it square with the rest of their assessment of women’s rights in the United States?
Criteria for Success:
Demonstrates meta-cognitive critical thinking skills through deep reflection.
Clearly connects individual experiences to structural, cultural, and political contexts.
Completes a final product that is relatively free of typos and grammar errors.
Integrates at least two assigned readings with proper in-text MLA or APA citation conventions and includes a works cited page.

She decided to make customized wigs for patients and go into the hospitals and connect with patients. I learned that she can bring life into these patients who are going through something. Making a wig can be uplifting to someone, who loves their hair and can’t handle the situation that is going.

One brand that has significantly influenced me is Patagonia, the outdoor clothing and gear company. Patagonia’s commitment to environmental sustainability and social responsibility has shaped my personal values and lifestyle choices. This brand promotes a strong message of conservation and ethical business practices, encouraging its customers to consider the environmental impact of their purchases and activities. I have adopted a more eco-conscious mindset inspired by Patagonia’s mission.
Patagonia produces a range of creative works that promote its identity, including documentaries, books, and campaigns. Notably, their documentary “DamNation” explores the impact of dams on the environment and advocates for the restoration of free-flowing rivers. Another significant campaign is “The Footprint Chronicles,” which provides transparency about the environmental and social impact of Patagonia’s supply chain.
The cultural value derived from Patagonia’s creative works is overwhelmingly positive. They have contributed to a broader awareness and dialogue about environmental sustainability and ethical consumption. Patagonia’s initiatives have inspired other companies to adopt more sustainable practices and have empowered consumers to demand greater transparency and responsibility from brands. On the flip side, there is a challenge in ensuring that the message does not become mere marketing rhetoric, a phenomenon known as “greenwashing.” However, Patagonia’s consistent and genuine commitment helps mitigate this risk.

Hello everyone!
A brand that I fell in love with that I have worn most of my adult life during many races, including the 2023 Chicago Marathon was the Active Faith Sports Apparel company. My favorite shirt i wear is a dry fit athletic shirt that says my favorite verse on it which is also tattooed on me, Philippians 4:13 I can do all things in Christ who strengthens me. When I wore it for the marathon, I heard spectators yell out great things like “yes you can!’ and “I love that shirt” and “God is all powerful!” Not only does it promote my faith and get others to see and possibly read the verse or the want to learn more. But it keeps me close to God in my own faith. By surrounding my life with God everywhere I am constantly more aware of the way I think, speak, and treat others. to me wearing the apparel, almost feels like a shield protecting my heart, mind and soul.
Now more than ever more people are coming to Christianity, and because of putting the christian image out into the public more. Wearing the apparel from this brand and the many others brings a cool style to our everyday lives, as well as keeping God at the center of our day. It has brought a positive impact to the younger generation of students, and those who may feel like they don’t belong anywhere. The clothing brand promotes a positive message and brings a chance for a conversation starter as well.

“Exploring the Inner Workings of a Nonprofit Organization: Insights from a Girl Scout Employee”
.Hello all! I interviewed a friend of mine who has worked for girl’s scout which is a nonprofit organization
What did you learn as the result of the interview?
Through the interview I learned that the mission of this organization is to build up the confidence of girls. It is a group of likeminded people wanting to work together with younger girls to accomplish that. There is a lot that goes into building up, funding and running a nonprofit organization. Theres a lot of planning, fundraisers and ideas that goes into it and its not as simple as it may seem.
What is the role of the board of directors?
The person I interviewed opted not to answer this question. However, upon searching this question this is what I found. Along with the CEO and the Executive Team, GSUSA’s Board of Directors guides the organization in the planning, development, and execution of initiatives and resources to benefit a diverse group of girls, volunteers, and staff across the nation—and the world. (Girl’s Scouts-leadership).
What was the agency’s knowledge of current trends in human services? Do you believe the agency is meeting current trends in human services? Please explain.
The organization works hard to stay on top of current trends and works on offering programs and opportunities to educate our members and families. They previously offered a community-based program called the FAB Factor that was offered in targeted communities such as Lowell, Lynn, Lawrence. These communities were identified to have high school dropouts and high pregnancy. The program we delivered was focused on Health and Wellness, STEM, Financial Literacy and leadership. I believe the agency is staying on top of current trends by always shifting things and staying informed and involved. They seem to be open to new ideas to better the organization.
Provide one example of how the agency adheres to legal and ethical human services standards in its decision-making processes related to budgeting and/or funding.
This question was also not answered in the interview. However, she did mention that they have a CFO and Accounting department which I assume stay on top of things like this and reviews and audits.
