“The Criminalization of Brown and Black People in the Post-Fordist Era: Economic Restructuring, Targeted Laws, and Racialized Discourses”
As this is now your final, please source at least three of the readings, podcasts, films, or lectures. I think the best format for this is to turn in a separate bibliography doc. Please include any other sources for outside material utilized. Chicago or MLA formatting works for me.
You must write a traditional essay: 3-5 pages.
The central question: How have nonwhite people been formed as racial subjects throughout the 20th and 21th Century, and how have
they challenged and resisted these ideological discourses and legal barriers of incarceration?
How were Brown and Black people criminalized in the post-Fordist era of late capitalism and globalization? How and why did this happen?
What were the laws and policies that emerged during this time? How did they target Brown and Black people?
What was the role of discourse and ideology in this historical moment?
My written thesis:
In the post-Fordist era of late capitalism and globalization, the criminalization of Brown and Black people was driven by economic restructuring, targeted laws and policies, and racialized discourses, which collectively reinforced social and economic inequalities. -

“The Impact of Environment on Early Civilizations: An Argumentative Analysis”
Class name / kind of history class: Global History: Ancient and Medieval World
class textbook: Patterns of World History (3rd addition) By Peter Von Silvers
Argumnetitive paper topic:The Role of Environment in the Development of Early Civilizations: Argue whether the natural environment was the primary factor in determining the success and characteristics of early civilizations. (topic was picked by chapter 1 of textbook)
Paper format: Chicago style
Additinal notes: in addition to work cited page, there must be footer citations in the
chicago style. If possible the sources must be acedemically reputable and there needs to be a minimume of 5 sources. IF YOU NEED SCREENSHOTS OF CHAPTER 1 OUT OF THE TEXTBOOK JUST LET ME KNOW, BUT THE TEXTBOOK CANT COUNT AS A SOURCE.
IMPORTANT: My instructor uses a plagerism detector, aswell as an AI writter detector, So pleaee refrain from copy and paste and using AI
Instructions and guidlines:
In 1,500-2,000 words (approx. 4-6 pages), discuss your chosen topic from your assigned paper and present your argumentative thesis in regard to that topic. Remember that you must present an argument that can be argued both “for” and “against” your stated position. A good approach would be to start with introducing your thesis with some background and context, followed next by presentation of your primary argument, then presenting a series of counterarguments that others could raise against your primary position, then “repair” any damage you did, and then end with a strong conclusion. Let me know if you have any questions about my expectations here.
Format
The final submission should have a cover page with title, your name, your course and section, and the date of submission. You are required to use at least five academically reputable sources. Anonymous sources are not academically reputable. I would recommend that you obtain your sources through the college library’s holdings. Note that many books and journals can be viewed online through the library. You will also be expected to utilize the Chicago Style of Citation to document how you used each source. Examples of this citation style for notes and bibliography entries can be found at the Purdue Online Writing Lab here. Related to this, you will be required to use footnotes (as opposed to endnotes or parenthetical citations). Finally, you should end with a bibliography page listing your sources in the proper format.
Page numbers should be located in the top right header of each page with both your last name and the page number (e.g. Seutter 1). The margins should be no larger than 1 inch in size, the font must be Times New Roman, 12-point, and the body of the paper should be double-spaced.
Any additinal question please feel free to text me 🙂 -
Title: “Virtual Attendance at the Lone Star College Board of Trustees Meeting on October 5th: A Reflection on Government Operations and Citizen Participation”
As one of the assignments for this class, you must attend a government meeting. Because of the shutdowns, you will attend your public meeting virtually. You must “attend” the most recent Lone Star College Board of Trustees meeting which was held on October 5th. Because of Covid, the meetings are streamed and the recording is available at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tlTMGH8xlso
You must watch the meeting in their entirety. You must write a paper with all the elements in the instructions below.. Please follow the instructions in the assignment completely. Pay attention to how the public is invited to participate, make sure to note which items from the agenda are pulled from the consent agenda. I will warn you that the two most common errors students make with this assignment is that they try to use the minutes to avoid watch/attending the meeting or they fail to watch until the end and their paper doesn’t cover the entire meeting. Since I attend these meetings, I will be well aware of any attempt to do a partial job and you will be graded accordingly.
Before you attend the meeting you should print the agenda for the meeting. Then, armed with the agenda, attend (virtually) the meeting. The Agenda is available here: http://www.lonestar.edu/board-agendas.htm You only need the first 5 pages. You do not need to print the minutes of the previous meeting or any of the material that follows. (Printing the entire thing will be over 100 pages).
1. Take notes of the meeting on the agenda. Note which items on the agenda were pulled out and not treated as part of the consent agenda, who asked questions about one or another action item, were there dissenting votes, who were the citizens that addressed the elected officials, what issue did they discuss and the like.
2. To complete the assignment you must write a 750 word essay that describes the meeting (what governing body and what it’s responsibilities are) and the date, time, and place of the meeting. (this may require some outside research)
3. In your essay, describe A) who was there, B) what issues were discussed, including the consent agenda, C)how citizens were involved in the meeting.
You should conclude your paper with a critical reflection of what the meeting accomplished and how citizen participation impacted the meeting if it did.
Do not simply list Board members unless they were present. Be sure to address the prompts I have asked you to address in the paper.
