the essay HAS to be on the book “We Meant Well” by Erum Shazia Hasan. It should have 1 introductory paragraph, 3 body paragraphs, and a conclusion paragraph. each body paragraph has a topic:
– first body is on the contrasts between the affluent and the disadvantaged
– second body is on the pressing need for identity
– third body is on the problematic elements that come with being an aid worker
I have provided a doc with further instructions on how to write the essay. PLEASE READ IT. I did not write it all down here.
I have also provided another google doc which I used for a bit of brainstorming, which includes elements that need to be in the essay. I did not finish the brainstorming, so if you find a quote that works better for a topic rather than what I have, or if you can make something I wrote down sound better, that would be amazing. for the 3 sources, each source needs to relate to ONE of the topics in the body paragraphs. These points are to be done with an initial/transitioning sentence that introduces the idea, the evidence which is a quote or combination of quotes from the play, and then the analysis which connects the evidence to the point and the thesis.   
Use the character of Krogstad as the focus of the second body paragraph. Mainly talk about his experiences with marginalization and stigmatization, desperation and the pursuit of social acceptance, and how he later on questions the validity of social hierarchies. 
These points are to be done with an initial/transitioning sentence that introduces the idea, the evidence which is a quote or combination of quotes from the play, and then the analysis which connects the evidence to the point and the thesis.   
Use the character of Torvald as the focus of the third body paragraph. Mainly talk about his experiences with his obsession with his and his family’s social image, fear of social rejection, and how this all impacts his relationships.
These points are to be done with an initial/transitioning sentence that introduces the idea, the evidence which is a quote or combination of quotes from the play, and then the analysis which connects the evidence to the point and the thesis.   
Then the concluding paragraph will serve to summarize and unify the points made in the body paragraphs, show the outcome of my arguments, and emphasize why the essay’s message matters.
