This is for my English 1102 class. A lot of feedback I received is that I am not specific enough in my writing. I need to have evidence for my assertions. Also, I lacked to provide quantitative data.  One more thing you can add is that I would add more quotes in my writing. Reflecting, I need to quote more frequently from my sources. I would fix my in text citations and make them mla. I need to learn how to do proper in text citations. Another feedback I got is that I don’t have anything from the scientific consensus. I need to find the ‘bone of contention’.  Also I need to watch out for AI as one of my papers had a high detection percentage.
I’ve learned that the writing process is complex and takes time, including multiple revisions. I learned that a rewrite is so crucial as it maps out the structure for a paper. Reflecting I would start my assignments earlier and plan out more. I would also research properly and find more credible sources.
So what the assignment is one page reflection and one page research plan.

    Planning the Speech
    Section 6: Draft an introduction
(Use complete sentences to draft your working introduction.)
In March 2020, the world stopped and changed forever, especially within the higher education setting.  This was due to what we now know as COVID-19 and it shifted all face-to-face learning to online via Zoom from high schools to colleges and universities.
Due to this learning had to be adjusted from face-to-face to the online setting, which impacted many involved, including teachers, professors, students, administrators, and even parents.
More importantly, new ideas were realized, and new technologies and strategies were developed to bring about an engaging online learning experience and overall college education and degree.
Now almost three years later, it almost feels like normal and online education has been a popular choice to get an education rather than attend face-to-face.  Just as important, it has brought about a positive change in learning experiences for students and the ways professors can teach on a specific lesson.
    (change to next slide)
    Section 7: Main Body–Minimum 3 Points
    Reminder: Use complete sentences!
Main Point #1: Online education allows for creative ways for instructors and students to interact in a new, engaging format.
Once COVID-19 hit campuses and face-to-face classes, instructors became creative with lesson plans, video formats and strategies to adapt to these emerging trends.
One professor at Rice University decided to engage in his creativity outside the classroom by recording video experiments of his science lectures to students to show a specific demonstration (Fitzgerald).
Due to this new innovation, and instructors adapting to these online learning modalities, students have experienced a new way of learning along with gaining a unique perspective of topics (Fitzgerald).
    (change to next slide)
Transition: Instructors and students have embraced the new normal of learning online and the possibilities going forward.
Main Point #2: Online education is much more advanced than it was 10 years ago, especially from a technological perspective, allowing for a more enriched learning environment.
More instructors are getting trained in multiple learning management systems, making it more accessible and easier for them to teach online today.
Also, technology has made it possible for instructors to use a number of different teaching styles since students learn differently now more than ever, thus making it possible for more quality resources (Villasenor).
    (change to next slide)
Transition: Another benefit of online learning has come out of the pandemic, which has been a direct result of the effective and emerging technologies present today.
Main Point #3: Due to the emerging technologies and comfort level using these, some students seem more comfortable learning online than in a face-to-face setting.
According to the article, Online college classes can be better than in-person ones. The Implications for higher ed are profound, the author John Villasenor states that some online environments elicit more enriched conversations from students than in a F2F setting (Villasenor).
Villasenor also states that some students in an online setting while learning are more prone to converse more in a discussion than in a F2F setting, adding perspective and a deeper understanding of the topics being discussed (Villasenor).
    (change to next slide)
Transition: Since more students are seeing the benefits of online learning and a college online education, along with becoming more comfortable with the different platforms, is it time to re-think the college process as a whole?
Main Point #4: Due to the emerging trends and accessibility within higher education it’s a great time for traditional colleges and universities to invest in the online education setting.
According to Villasenor, there is another viable and effective option to learn in college today and that’s within online learning, and the pandemic made us aware of this reality (Villasenor).
Instead of the physical college classroom, students are now better equipped to succeed in the online environment due to the advancements of technology. Due to this, we can effectively reimagine the online college classroom going forward (Villasenor).
(change to next slide – conclusion)

    Section 9: Conclusion
As you can see, higher education has drastically shifted in the last 20 years, especially within the online setting due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  Even though there are still some negative perceptions of online learning, there have been many strides made and advancements in technology to prove its worth and quality going forward for aspiring students looking to get an education.
The pandemic has made it a reality for some to strictly learn and gain an education online, while actually performing better in the class and overall setting.
Instructors have also realized the true emergence and impact online learning can have on students going forward as well, along with becoming more creative in their own teaching practices.
Going forward, this is the new normal and with the advancements of technology, all students have the resources to succeed in the virtual classroom.  Thank you.
    Section 10: Presentation Aid Planning
Note: Your final speech will have a visual aid requirement.
For this presentation, I will be using PowerPoint slides for my content and visuals.
I will be screen-sharing with classmates each main point with my content on this specific topic.
My information/content will consist of resources I’ll be using to assess this topic and to provide credibility as a speaker. My slides will consist of content related to this topic, along with graphs and visuals to add perspective.
