  • Title: The Issue of Accountability in Slater’s “Accountable”

Prompt: Identify one issue and conclusion that Slater raises in Accountable. Explain the issue and her conclusion. This is not an analytical essay. It is a summary essay. That means you are summarizing her argument–the issue she states and the conclusion she gives–and not giving your analysis or opinion about it.
In organized, detailed five-paragraph essay, you will state the issue she raises, then you will show her conclusion. You will use the introduction to establish the context, the overall summary of her book and how the issue is a part of her overall argument. In the body paragraphs, you will need to summarize (1) the single issue she raises, (2) the conclusion she arrives at about the issue, and (3) one piece of evidence she uses to arrive at her conclusion.
You must refer to Accountable as your main point of reference in this essay. Do not include outside research. You must use MLA format when you paraphrase and/or use direct quotes.
You must also include a Works Cited at the end of your essay, even if your only source is Accountable. If you are using an electronic version of the book, please use the page numbering in your version of the book.
The rubric for this essay is posted in the syllabus.
The essay must be 750 words (please try to be as close to this limit as possible, meaning 725-780 words). Put the word count at the end of your essay.
JUST DO THE AI TOOLS AND SELF-REFLECTION AND GRADE
NOTE: For each essay in this course, you must submit an opening “preamble” that is no longer than 6 sentences, in which you document that has the following information—without this preamble, your essay will not be graded–indicate (1) what tutoring you used, (2) which AI tools you used, and (3) offer a self-reflection and self-grade.
Tutoring: In 2-3 sentences, state: When and what tutoring did you use, if any (this is not required)?
AI tools: In 2-3 sentences, state: Which AI tools did you use, if any (it is ok if you didn’t use any AI tools)? How did you use them, and how did they improve your work and process?
Self-reflection and grade: In 2-3 sentences, what do you think are the strengths and weaknesses of this written assignment and what grade would you give yourself?
