“Assessment and Evaluation Strategies: A Guide for Parents/Caregivers on Supporting Their Child’s Learning”
As a teacher, you must understand the relationship between assessment, planning, and instruction in the cycle of effective teaching. Having a toolbelt of assessment and evaluation strategies provides you with the ability to describe the types of assessments available, analyze their reliability and validity, and evaluate the data that they generate.
For this assessment, you will research assessment information and create a presentation of your findings.
Scenario
Assume you are the lead teacher of your grade level, and you are preparing a presentation about assessment and evaluation to share with the students’ parents/caregivers during your school’s Curriculum Night.
Preparation
Choose a grade level you want to teach (K–6th grade) and use it as the basis for this summative assessment.
Research the common types of assessment and how they may be used in the classroom for your selected grade level.
Assessment Deliverable
Use the Assessment and Evaluation Strategies Presentation Template and create a 12- to 15-slide presentation in which you communicate important assessment information to students’ parents/caregivers during the school’s Curriculum Night. Communicate the assessment information in a way that your audience will be able to understand.
Include the following information for each corresponding slide in the template and provide supportive examples from your research for each section. While 1 slide is provided in the template, you can add additional slides for each header, as needed.
Title slide
Role of assessment: Explain the role of assessment and evaluation in the practice of teaching, including:
Relationship among curriculum, assessment, and state standards
Difference between testing and assessment
Difference between assessment and evaluation
Reliability and validity: Explain the significance of reliability and validity in assessment, including:
Definition in relation to assessment for each
Examples of evidence for each
Use of technology: Describe how technology will be used by teachers and students in classroom assessment, including strategies for maintaining compliance with FERPA.
Assessment types: Describe the following types of assessments, including a description of the assessment type’s purpose, when and how it is used in the classroom, and at least 2 examples of the assessment type.

“Selecting Safe and Developmentally Appropriate Toys for Young Children” Selecting Safe and Developmentally Appropriate Toys for Young Children When it comes to choosing toys for young children, it is important to consider both their safety and developmental appropriateness
Research the appropriate guidelines for selecting toys for young children. This information is available on the Internet and in many early childhood publications. Then, write an essay of at least five (5) fully developed paragraphs, summarizing and explaining at least fifteen (15) guidelines regarding toy safety and developmental appropriateness. As you conduct your research you’ll likely find that there are more guidelines available on choosing safe toys than on choosing developmentally appropriate toys for young children. For this reason, it is recommended that students choose ten (10) guidelines on choosing safe toys and five (5) guidelines on choosing developmentally appropriate toys to discuss within their essay. Keep in mind that the essay should not simply be a re-statement of the researched information. Instead, it’s important to demonstrate your understanding of the information and how it should be applied in selecting toys for young children. This will be written in essay format and will not include any bulleted or numbered lists of guidelines. Each paragraph must consist of 4 to 6 fully developed sentences. Refer to the course resources available on the Early Childhood College Programs and Courses Learning Resource Center for additional guidance on completing this assignment: https://pflibrary.pennfoster.edu/earlychildchoodcenter/ECE130
In your essay, you must include in-text citations in APA format to indicate where the information originated from. -

Title: Integrating Technology into Elementary Language Arts: A Comprehensive Action Plan
Design a plan for integrating technology into an elementary language arts program. This plan should include a format for utilizing computer hardware, computer software, databases, as well as electronic networks for gathering and sharing information with other elementary educators and students. Select and read reference articles on integrating technology into the elementary language arts classroom with ESOL/LEP. Citations from electronic journal articles would be particularly appropriate. Also, national, state, or local school district documents outlining goals and objectives for technology integration should be reviewed and cited as references.
The action plan for integrating technology into an elementary language arts program should be in proposal form. The components of the proposal should include the following:
· Needs or problem statement, i.e. a description of whether the proposal is addressing a need or solving a problem and a description of the target student population ( grade or age levels, ability levels, learning styles, developmental needs, ESOL/LEP) that the proposal addresses;
· Project description, i.e. a narrative description of goals, objectives, activities, timeline, and materials and a summary table;
· Role description, i.e. a statement of role and responsibilities of the proposal instructor and developer;
· Support needs statement, i.e. based on school data (e.g. School Improvement Plan), a description of what school support is needed (equipment, software, training, teacher and staff collaboration) as well as community support that is needed (parental involvement and community mentors);
· Evaluation design, i.e. a narrative describing the method used to determine if learning goals and objectives have been achieved; narrative describing method used to determine if the state’s curriculum standards and the state’s Elementary Education Competencies and Skills in Language Arts and Reading have been met.
· Budget, i.e. a narrative explaining item costs and a budget outline listing instructional materials and equipment needed for proposal implementation;
· References, a listing of journal articles or other documents that support the proposed ideas. (Minimum of 3 references, one of which can be the course textbook. -
“Emergency Management Plan Review: Analyzing the Components of a Local Plan for a Medium to Large City/County”
Search and select from the internet a local emergency management plan from either a medium (100,000 people) or large city (200,000 plus) or county from any state in the United States. It is recommended to find a plan in your local community if that is available since it will be more relevant to your experience. Write a 3-page paper that reviews the components of the emergency management plan that you selected. Critique the plan for its ability to address important components of an emergency management plan. Try to be concise and follow the outline and paragraph parameters as seen below. Use the following sections as Level I headings: Overview of the Selected Community, Demographics, and Locality (one paragraph) Overview of the Plan’s Inclusion of Special Needs Populations and People with Disabilities (one paragraph) Critique of the Local Plan (one paragraph for each Level II heading) Use Level II headings under Critique of the Local Plan: Note: use the headings below to address the local plan’s ability to address the following in their local plan Planning Faith-Based and Public Partnerships Preparedness Response Recovery Mitigation Efforts Level I heading: Conclusion (two paragraphs)

Title: Evaluating the Quality and Impact of a Report on Services for Children and Families: A Critical Analysis
i will attach the report in which for the essay you are required to use only the report.
(PART 1) Evaluate the quality of the report.:
Part 1 (approx. 500 words)
In the first part of the EMA, you should introduce the report and critically examine its quality using learning introduced during the module such as the PROMPT criteria. You are not describing the content of the report but giving your assessment of whether it is a good report in terms of showing whether the service is making a difference.
(PART 2) Critically discuss how the different research methods and kinds of data mentioned in the report are used to evaluate services and/or practices:
Part 2 (approx. 800 words)
In Part 2, you should critically discuss the methods and types of data that were collected and referred to in the report. Discuss some of the strengths and limitations of different approaches to evaluation that are being demonstrated in the report, making connections and comparisons with other methods of evaluation that you have been introduced to. You can also be critical of the way the report evaluates the service, again drawing on your knowledge from the module
(PART 3) Identify issues raised in the report and discuss how they relate to the wellbeing of children and young people, drawing on your learning from KE206.:
Part 3 (approx. 1200 words)
The report focuses on issues that relate to families and children. You should briefly identify some of the key issues within the report, and then show your understanding of how these issues relate to children or young people’s wellbeing, drawing on your learning from across the module.Start by discussing wellbeing more generally (which may include use of Topic 1: Wellbeing), then use your knowledge and understanding of the module to make specific links to two other topics (i.e. from relationships, society, health, learning, safety, rights, identity, or culture) and consider these two topics in more detail.
Conclusion (approx. 250 words)
As you have done with your TMAs, use a brief conclusion that draws all key points together to ensure that all parts of the EMA question have been fully addressed.
