It should utilize all the elements of playwriting as discussed before. It should not be “cinematic” like film. It should be only be in a couple locations and have minimal stage directions. (Remember, plays are dialogue based.) The number of characters should be kept to a minimum.
3. The play should have a protagonist, antagonist and have a beginning, middle, a climax and an end.
4. You MUST use the format for playwriting I gave you. Make sure you double check the example: 12point Courier, etc. -

“The Power of Female Empowerment: A Review of Phyllida Lloyd’s ‘Hamlet’ on Broadway HD”
You are to write a PLAY REVIEW on any of the PLAYS available to you ONLINE from BROADWAY HD ( when hired I will give you access to BROADWAY HD)
Your PLAY REVIEW should be 2 full pages, typed properly (MLA, make sure there are no spelling and grammatical errors- MAKE SURE TO SAVE IT AS A PDF BEFORE UPLOADING) for each. I DO NOT want a synopsis – do not tell me what the play is about. I want your specific criticism, what did you think about the play, be specific, you are to cite the names of the actors, director, producer, and designer… tell me about whatever you liked and disliked. Talk about the design (lighting, sound), or production value, the writer (did his/her theme connect to you), the director’s concept (did his/her tone drive the central theme, what did you not like, why, and how would you have done it… I want everything we learned in class and from Cohen’s book. The last paragraph should be as if you’re a New York Times critic, is the show worth my time and money, highlight the good points and the bad.
THERE ARE A LOT OF PLAYS TO CHOOSE FROM, IT HAS TO BE A LIVE-STAGE PRODUCTION! Not an AUDIO RECORDING or a FILM – Must be a recorded LIVE PLAY.
YOU MUST WATCH THE PLAY IN ITS ENTIRETY!
