Managing Change Summative Assessment: Outline & Rubric Summative Assessment Outline Managing Change Oral Presentation Competency: Managing Change Competency Statement: Demonstrate an understanding of how leaders effectively implement and manage change Summative Assessment Submission Title: Managing Change Oral Presentation Competency Objectives: 1. Demonstrate an understanding of why change occurs in organizations. 2. Demonstrate an understanding of how leaders build the capacity to change and innovate. 3. Demonstrate an understanding of the factors that impact managing change effectively such as organizational culture, communication and leadership. Purpose of this Assessment This assessment is designed to assess your knowledge and skills as a leader to effectively plan, implement and manage change. Using a scenario, you will develop a plan to successfully implement and sustain the change described. Your plan will include strategies for overcoming resistance, outline communication plans, and discuss how you will effectively lead and manage the change. From this plan you will develop a presentation that is appropriate to present to the senior management team of the organization. Item Required for Submission The item required for submission is a 15–20 minute oral presentation that describes your plan as a leader for managing a significant change initiative. Managing Change Summative Assessment: Outline & Rubric Step ONE: Review the Rubric Before starting, review the rubric to make sure you know the criteria on which you will be assessed. Step TWO: Preparation To prepare for this assignment, choose one of the following scenarios. Scenario Option 1: New Technology New technology is being adapted by your functional area to increase productivity and reduce headcount. Successful implementation requires running dual systems while employees are learning new software and work processes. Senior management is concerned that implementation goes smoothly and the new technology is fully functional within the shortest time possible. Scenario Option 2: Mergers and Acquisitions Your division is being acquired by a competitor, and although it is recognized this will generate many changes, the extent and timing of the changes is yet unknown. Senior management of both your division and the acquiring company want to ensure employees with critical organizational knowledge and skills are retained during the transition, and have asked you to lead the effort to plan and implement strategies to manage the change. Scenario Option 3: Staff Reductions Your organization has just downsized, eliminating ten percent of the staff. Retained employees – survivors of the lay-off – are being asked to do more with less. As a result of the lay-off you must manage the redistribution of work to a demoralized workforce and ensure productivity goals are met. Scenario Option 4: Significant Change from your Experience You may prepare the summative assessment using a different scenario that represents a significant organizational change you have experienced. Managing Change Summative Assessment: Outline & Rubric Step THREE: Completing the Oral Report Once you have selected a scenario, prepare an oral report for senior management that describes your plans to manage change. Use a systems thinking approach to prepare the oral report that must address the following topics: 1. Briefly describe the change, identifying the forces causing it and implications of the type of change (developmental, transitional or transformational). Support your analysis with evidence. 2. Identify potential causes of employee resistance and how you as the change leader will overcome resistance and gain all employees’ acceptance of the change. 3. Describe your communication plans, including the change message, effective communication channels and feedback loops, and rationale. 4. Discuss your leadership role as a change champion. Select one leadership practice from each of systems thinking, organizational culture, communication, and change champions (four leadership practices in total) to highlight how you will effectively lead and manage the implementation and sustainment of the change. Support your discussion with convincing evidence. The oral presentation must: • Be 15–20 minutes in length. • Use visuals such as PowerPoint or Prezi to support and reinforce key points. • Use correct grammar and spelling without errors. • Be comprehensive, interesting, and flow logically, fully addressing key points and connecting with the visuals. • Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the leader’s role in planning, implementing and sustaining change. • Accurately identify causes of employee resistance to change. • Provide viable strategies to overcome resistance and enroll employees in supporting the change initiative. • Develop a communication strategy and plan that facilitates the successful implementation of the change. • Describe the leader’s role as a change champion and how you can positively lead the change effort. • Be delivered professionally, in a way that would be favorably received by a senior management team. Although citations and a reference page are not required, the plan described in the presentation must link to best change management practices as described in the competency readings and materials. Managing Change Summative Assessment: Outline & Rubric Step FOUR: Complete Checklist for Submission Before you submit, check to see if you believe you have met the criteria noted below. Did you… Clearly and concisely describe the change, comprehensively identifying multiple forces causing the change? Accurately identify and discuss implications of the type of change and support analysis with convincing evidence? Accurately identify multiple potential causes of employee resistance? Present a comprehensive and viable plan to overcome resistance that will gain all employees’ support? Present a comprehensive communication plan that describes convincing change message(s), identifies multiple communication channels, and creates effective feedback loops, along with a convincing rationale? Clearly and comprehensively discuss your leadership role as a change champion? Identify four or more specific leadership practices, at least one from each of systems thinking, organizational culture, communication, and change champions, to effectively lead and manage the implementation and sustainment of a successful change effort, and support your discussion with convincing evidence? Use visuals such as PowerPoint or Prezi that are creative, interesting, easy to read, and emphasize critical points of the presentation? Check for grammar and spelling errors? Present in a well prepared, poised, and well spoken manner, avoiding “ums” and “ahs” and ensuring nervousness does not interfere with delivery? Ensure your presentation is comprehensive, interesting, flows logically, fully addresses key points, and consistently connects with visuals? Step FIVE: Submit Your Work The 15–20 minute oral report may be submitted in one of several ways. • Record a YouTube video and submit the link for assessment. • Submit a voice-over PowerPoint in which you talk through each slide. • Use Zoom to present and save your presentation. • Your completed final assessment documents should be submitted through the Final Assessment page of your competency.

Please take you time and read the entire instructions above….I have also put them in a word document which is attached. Feel free to print the document and review it as you complete the audit. In this assignment, you will be creating a chart audit tool to utilize in reviewing medical records for state license standard compliance. For those who have never done this before I have a document attached which describes the rationale as well as some sample audit tools.
You have been asked by the HIM director to conduct a review of 10 charts for compliance with the New York State Department of Health (DOH) standards for health care facilities. After you complete your review, this will be presented to the Board as a Compliance Study.
Here are the steps to accomplish:
1. Review the New York State licensure standards. Copy and Paste this URL into your browser. : https://govt.westlaw.com/nycrr/Document/I4ffd11dccd1711dda432a117e6e0f345?viewType=FullText&originationContext=documenttoc&transitionType=CategoryPageItem&contextData=(sc.Default)
2. Create an audit tool of your own or use the attached to determine compliance with the above regulations. As sample is in the word document I attached. Be sure to attach your audit tool with your report.
3. Use MEDITECH and the accounts are attached in item 8. If this was a true audit, 10 records would not be acceptable because it is to small of a sample to be statistically significant but this is just an exercise. Normally you would use 5 % of your monthly volume.
4. Create a written report that will be presented to the Board to summarize your findings and make recommendations for how to improve compliance. This report should be a minimum of 2 pages identifying compliance and non-compliance. It usually has a brief overview for the Board which explains why the audit was done and what it is supposed to accomplish. = 40 points
5. Submit your audit ie the raw data showing the accounts you audited including the account numbers as well as the written report. if you used excel you can submit it in excel along with the summary. If you did you audit in word, submit that with your summary. If you used a system to hide the account numbers i.e. Patient 1, Patient 2 etc be sure to include a key to determine who these patients are. If you are copying and pasting data from one Microsoft product to another, be sure no information is cut off. Turning in cut off data does not look professional. Remember this is being turned into the Board and represents your department. = 15 points
6. This is a sample of the tool for the report I removed the account numbers and I was using 20 charts from Dr Chrono. But it can give you an idea of what to do. see attached Audit Log for module 7 with graphs with accounts removed.xlsx
7. To enhance your written report, it is usually helpful for the audience to see graphs. This usually keeps the readers attention. Be sure to use meaningful graphs. = 12 points
8. Files to audit are attached.

9. Create a flow chart on how you performed the audit. Use proper flow chart tools found in Important documents folder and also attached here to create the flow chart. = 15 points

“Problem-Solving and Research in Society: Finding Solutions for Real-World Issues” “Collaborative Solutions: Mitigating Issues with Suppliers for Streamlined Processes”
I NEED ONE INITIAL POST AND TWO RESPONSES.
INITIAL POST :
In our society, it’s crucial that we develop the ability to understand context and problem-solve, whether it’s for civic or professional reasons. This is true for leaders at all levels, from those in charge of diverse industries to politicians and lobbyists. The research process is one fundamental practice that ensures individuals can develop, express, and justify solutions.
In your initial post briefly describe a problem that you or a group of people you belong to are currently experiencing. Explain the main characteristics of the problem, the obstacles you face in getting it solved, and your goal. Then, address the following:
How would you solve the problem?
What research and resources will you need to solve it?
How would you justify your solution?
In response to at least two of your peers, address the following:
What ideas or resources can you share to help your peers craft their solutions?
What are some obstacles to your peers’ potential solutions?
RESPOND TO”:
1.Hello class,
My name is Alikeisha Waters, I am newly retired from the US. Army just this past Nov. I served 26 years and am now embarking on a new chapter in my life called “HAPPINESS” I am married to my husband of 7 wonderful years, and we are a blended family of 8 (7 girls and 1 boy, I know right-poor fella) plus 2 grands (6 & 2). Needless to say, all but 3 are adults, so we have 1 in the Air Force, 1 in the Army, 1 in college, 2 in high school and 1 in middle school, the other two are in Florida living their lives. Ok, so enough of me. I am here to complete my bachelor’s degree in business with a concentration in Human Resources.
A problem that I see and have currently been experiencing is the way we now communicate with one another in our everyday lives whether it be for work, school, or family & friends’ conversations. There aren’t any more face-to-face general conversations, we as a general population have resorted to Microsoft Teams, Zoom, WhatsApp etc. Not being able to have that in person visual interaction and casual conversation causes a delay or lost in translation of communication. Personally, I do like it for a quick meeting in between other briefings that you may have gone on throughout your workday, and to be able to quickly chat if you have a burning question. However, now that telework and remote work are both widely used in the workforce, this can sometime pose a problem when it comes to having to explain to a worker they have not excelled in their job, they need to be counseled or even let go. To solve the problem, we need to get back to having those in person conversations. I believe we have to create an environment where people are more comfortable and to be heard. Alot of people having gained a bit of anxiety since COVID and have created a comforting place in their world when it comes to going back into the work environment.
According to an article from Harvard Business School, slack or similar messaging apps helped compensate for the lack of spontaneity. Moreover, the researchers suggest that this change could permanently improve team collaboration, even when teams reunite in person, by giving individual members more time to think through their responses.

2.Hello everyone,
My name is Taylor and I am working towards a degree in Operations Management. I have some supply chain experience but I want to further my knowledge and pursue a career in supply and logistics.
My current job is dealing with vendors and managing the relationship between the company and the vendor. A current challenge that myself and members of my team face daily is the negotiation of contracts. Our main focus is to get whats best for the company and to create a great relationship. Sometimes people get involved when they shouldn’t be causing issues amongst us and our suppliers. A way I have I try to mitigate these ongoing issues are to get the people that are heavily involved and gather them for a call and hash all the issues out so there isn’t a miscommunication problem and heads won’t roll when contracts are drafted. This doesn’t always work but it’s a step in the right direction to streamline processes in the future. -
