It helps

    When answering the
questions, you may need research and/or refer to support documents to gain
evidence.  When doing so it is important to put all researched
evidence into your own words and reference quotations
    accordingly to avoid plagiarism.
    Further guidance on
academic referencing can be found in the resource section on Ecordia
    Ensure all answers
are written in paragraph format, do not used bullet points, lists or indents to
answer questions. In addition, you will need to provide full explanations and
include examples of your working practice where required. When including
examples from work practice describe what you have done personally by using
terminology such as ‘I have’ or ‘I do’
    All questions
answered should be theoretically based (from research) to confirm application.
    Word count – although
there is no definitive requirement, this is a level 7 award, therefore, we
would expect approximately 300-600 words per question. Where
asked to research and compare theories or models of practice it is essential
you use at least 2 sources of research for each question.  These will
include research evidence, organisations information and examples of your
contribution or situations you have dealt with or deal with daily.
    Please note
when analysing, you need to explain about the concepts and
identify your thoughts on them and make a case for your reasons.
    When evaluating,
you need to reflect and include what works and/or can work well, what does not
work well and/or might not work well, and future thinking.
    Guidance on
expectations for the content of the answer has been provided in italics below
    the question.
    1.1 Using
sources from research explain the following concepts below, and
make a case on their implications for different types of organisational culture
and, relate to how you see their benefits or dis-benefits
(positives/negatives/areas of improvement) within your organisation
    a)Empowerment
    b)Authority
    c)Responsibility
    d)Accountability
    e)Delegation
    1.2: Evaluate the
advantages and disadvantages of centralised and decentralised structures
    (Using evidence from
research, you need to distinguish between centralised and decentralised
structures; explain their advantages and disadvantages; then discuss which
structure works best for your business, which one does not work well and any
    modifications going forward).
    1.4:Analyse the
    principles of business process re-engineering
    (Here you are
expected to explain from research what you understand by ‘Business process
engineering’. Make a case on its pros and cons (advantages/disadvantages) and
how this process can or cannot support your business going forward.
    1.5: 1.7:Evaluate
the application of project management techniques to include the advantages and
limitations to monitor the execution of a strategic business plan.
    (Here, you need to
research and explain different project and evaluation techniques that can be
used to ‘manage a project’ then refer to which ones can best be used to monitor
the process of your business plan. Finally give reasons why you feel they can work
well, in your organisation/a business; explain areas of concern and additional
information you can provide to eliminate concerns).
    1.6: Evaluate
the scope of tools for monitoring strategic performance (include
examples from your organisation and your role in it)
    3.1, 3.2: 3.3 Justify
an evaluation approach that is appropriate for the nature of your business /organisation
and the purpose of the evaluation and then evaluate the extent of the success
of the strategy against evaluation criteria
    (Explain what
evaluation approach you use within your organisation for your business plan and
why this meets your needs, make an evaluation of the success and failures of
the strategy identifying where it has been successful or failed to meet the
    criteria of the evaluation)
    3.4: Identify the
degree of fit between an organisation’s strategy and its structure
    (Here you need to
explain reasons why an organisation’s structure needs to link with its strategy
and the advantages and disadvantages of this link and your views on this).

  • Discussion Topic One: Best Burgers According to a recent article from Business Insider, the best burger in America can be found at JG Melon in New York City. This iconic burger joint has been serving up their famous “cheeseburger

For this discussion, you will compose two initial posts on two of the topics listed below.
    Topics
    Topic One: Best Burgers
Need more detailed instructions from Dr. Joiner.
    Topic Two: Elasticity
If you were working in a gas station and the manager wanted to increase the price of gasoline 5%:
What would you tell them about future revenue? (Consider the theory of price elasticity and the specific value of the price elasticity for gasoline provided in this module’s lecture.)
What strategies would you recommend with the price of gasoline and the prices of other products sold at the gas station?
Topic Three: Principle of Diminishing Marginal Utility (Chapter 10)
A local restaurant offers an “all you can eat” ribs special. If a person pays $11.95, they can eat as many servings as they desire at no additional cost.
Do you think the local restaurant will go bankrupt because people will eat much more than what they are paying for? Why?
    Topic Four: News and Microeconomics
This week you were introduced to key concepts like elasticity, sunk costs, diminishing marginal satisfaction, fixed costs, variable costs, average costs, and marginal costs. All these concepts relate to the Demand and Supply of your firm of interest, and these concepts are quantitative in nature. Research and find articles that discuss demand elasticity values or costs for the firm you are interested in.
    To start this topic:
Provide a link to a recent business news or journal article.
Add a provocative comment/question for others to continue the discussion and build the empirical evidence needed for your paper project.
    Grading
For each discussion topic, you are to write an original post that represents the findings of your research into the topic and provides a substantive summary of what you discovered.  This original post should contain at least one reference and in-text pointers to indicate what came from that reference.  Your original post should be a paragraph long—at least six sentences.

  • “Addressing Performance Issues: A Radical Honesty Conversation”

Suppose that you manage an employee who is spending too much time using social media at work and has missed three important deadlines in one week as a result. You are planning a face-to-face conversation to address this performance problem, and your goal is to communicate with radical honesty. How would you begin this conversation?

  • “The Importance and Impact of Ethical Considerations in Interviewing Practices”

Instructions: In this course, we look at a verity of different interview techniques and styles. We also look at the different kinds of perspectives on ethical issues and how they fit into properly conducting interviews.
For this paper, you will pick a course related topic to discuss, but one that is not a specific topic addressed in our readings. Be creative! I do not want you to reiterate the readings, but choose a topic and expand on it. Some examples are given below, but it is recommended that you choose to write on a topic you have already encountered or you have thought about previously. Of necessity, the instructions for this assignment are somewhat vague. Each student will have to explore different resources and will need to develop an individual approach to the subject. The goal is a brief but detailed exploration of some narrowly defined aspect of Interviewing Practices.
Identify, specifically, the strengths of your topic and what some weaknesses are. Drawing on various sources, explain the details of your topic. Assume I know nothing about this topic and share your research on it with me. Why is it important? What have you learned? What are the Pro’s and Con’s? When would this be used? What is the history on this topic?
Research papers are generally divided into two main categories: informative or argumentative. Informative papers generally demonstrate your understanding of a subject, simply reflecting what information is out there. Or you can choose to write an argumentative paper. You could information, offering commentary and opinions though taking no clear position, or you may offer a solution to a problem or argue that a law is having an unwanted effect.
The more specific you can be the better, and feel free to include examples that will strengthen your account.
    Possible Topics
