“Exploring Concepts and Their Portrayal in Social Media: A Critical Analysis of a Video on the First Half of the Semester’s Topics”
For this journal students are expected to:
1. Choose a video from a social media source that depicts advice or discusses the topics/concept we cover during the first half of the semester. Students should not choose a video longer than 5 minutes.
Questions to keep in mind while watching the video
What implications might this video have on its audience? For example, if the information provided is inaccurate, how can this misinformation influence its audience? If accurate what are possible benefits for the targeted audience of the social media source? Is the video only targeting a certain population or community? What information should the author of the video include to better inform their audience? What did the author of the video do well to engage their audience? What would you have done differently given the information you have learned? Is the author of the video credible (e.g. a psychologist, doctor, expert)? (**Note: The answers to these questions could help you write section 3 and 4 of your paper)
2. Discuss what concept is being explained on the video, why the information the author is sharing is important for their audience, and how the concept and its sub concepts are applied throughout the video (e.g., Is it from a credible source?).
3. Lastly, compare how these concepts are explained by the source versus how our book discussed it. How can this media source be problematic or helpful for the audience?
4. This journal should be two full pages, double spaced, and in APA style. Students will receive feedback from a peer a week before the final paper is due (Student will post a rough draft of their paper to our “Discussion Board 6” where each student will provide feedback to one peer paper). Be sure to site all sources.
You are encouraged to organize your paper the following way:
Description of the source
What is the video about? What concepts are being discussed?
Description of the concept and life period
How is the concept explained in the book
Compare your chosen concept and life stage in our book to how it was discussed in the video
What aspect of the concept were discussed on the video that are not discussed in the book or visa versa? How was the concept portrayed in the video compared to how is presented in your book.
Conclusion
Why is the information shared by the author important for the intended audience?
What implications might this video have on its intended audience? For example, if the information provided is inaccurate compared to what our book says, how can this misinformation influence its audience? If accurate, what are possible benefits for the targeted audience of the social media source?
What information should the author of the video include to better inform their audience?
What would you have done differently given the information you have learned in this course ?
Is the author of the video credible (e.g. a psychologist, doctor, expert)?

“Evaluating SBSHS: A Critical Analysis of a Social Service Organization”
Write your SBSHS evaluation essay.
What is an evaluation?
Evaluation essays are, in essence, reviews. They pass judgment on whether something is good or bad, better or worse than something comparable, and how so.
For SBSHS, write an essay that evaluates a social service, app, or organization (for example, review a local charity, a dating app, or a club).
Use 3-5 criteria to develop the evaluation.
Judge how the organization, app, or organization meets that criteria.
Offer evidence to support that judgment.
The evaluation essay gives a writer more practice with the concept of the “I” as a researcher and gives the opportunity to gain experience conducting field research. Because this evaluation essay requires that the writer take and incorporate three relevant photographs, it also encourages the communication theory of multimodality (the use of media to create a text). Additionally, this essay continues to give the student writer an opportunity to further practice the recursive writing process (planning, drafting, revising, etc.) and gain a better understanding of the overall basic essay format (introduction, body paragraphs, conclusion) and essay development.
Finally, consider the value of crafting evaluations in the workplace. For example, employees are often asked to complete self-evaluations as part of completing a performance review. -

the focus is on the delivery system rather than specific services and treatments. Behavioral health impacts the health care delivery system as 20% of the population globally have a diagnosis of a mental or behavioral health condition. The focus of this assignment is not on a specific diagnosis but rather the health condition’s impact on the system. The financing for behavioral health care services is different than with physical health and has higher burden of disease related to premature mortality (DALY). You have some of the components in terms of stigma, cultural factors impact access to care. Listed below are references which may be useful.
