Overview
There are six videos that you will need to watch and react to when writing the paper.  The names and links to the six videos can be found in this module. 
Objectives
In a 3-page paper, explain your understanding of the current diagnostic criteria for Autism Spectrum Disorder by applying this knowledge to your written observations of videos of 6 different individuals
Instructions
Please review all six videos.  Then, write a total of 3 pages (double spaced, 12-point font, 1 inch margins) describing what you watched and heard and relate the information to the DSM-5 (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorder, 5th Edition) diagnostic criteria for Autism Spectrum Disorder.  You should be able to find a significant amount of information on the internet and/or articles that discuss the DSM-5 diagnostic criterial for Autism Spectrum Disorder.  As this is such a short paper with much to cover, please do not list all of the DSM-5 criteria as a part of this paper.  Instead, make reference to the DSM-5 criteria in the content and with the use of citations.
You will need to submit your assignment to me electronically as a .doc or .docx file. Please do not send your assignment to my e-mail account. I will not read it or grade it.  It will only be read and grade the paper when submitted through the Canvas system.  This paper will be graded using the rubric in Appendix D of your syllabus. It is important that you review the rubric prior to watching the videos and writing your paper.
Your paper will be checked using TurnItIn SimCheck.  TurnItIn SimCheck checks your work against other student papers from current and prior courses to determine similarities

Overview
The Wilczynski  book addresses many current issues related to understanding and working with those with Autism Spectrum Disorder.  After choosing two chapters and reading them, complete the following assignment to achieve the following objective.
Objectives
Describe your knowledge of two contemporary topics of your choosing from the Wilczynski text.
Instructions
For this assignment, decide which two chapters in the text, “A Practical Guide to Finding Treatments that Work for People with Autism” you find the most interesting or that you think would be most relevant to your current/future professional work situation. 
After you select and read the two chapters, you then need to write a one-page double-spaced essay that addresses what you have learned from the chapter and/or how you might use what you have learned. To be clear you will need to write two essays, one for each of the chapters you choose. The assignment needs to be submitted as a single .doc or .docx file. There is no rubric for this assignment.
Please include the title of the assignment, your name, and the course and section number on your submission, at the top or on a title page.  Also, make sure you identify which chapters you read for this assignment. 
Success Criteria
This assignment will be evaluated for the extent to which it demonstrates your understanding of the concepts and/or issues presented in the chapter and your description of how you might apply this knowledge and understanding.
