  • Title: “The Impact of Bilingualism on Reading Comprehension: A Literature Review and Exploratory Study”

There are three general parts to a proper Introduction section:
    1. Establishing the importance of your study
    2. Writing the literature review
    1. Establishing the importance of your study involves defining your concepts (variables).
First, introduce and define your variables.
Second, present at least two sources that make your definitions of variables reliable and valid.
Third, explain why these variables/concepts are important to study using three methods: prevalence, relevance, and precedence.
Prevalence: using statistics about your variables that are gathered from appropriate databases
Relevance: how are your variables of study relevant to SFCC, Spokane, America, the world? How are these variables present in the real world? Will problems be solved by this research? What is intended, objective application? Is this different in different cultures?
Precedence: present other researchers on your topic.  Present how long the concept/variable has been of interest to the Social Sciences.  Document past research to present research.  Not only current but all types of research.  Do not be afraid to include both sides of the variables of research if there is a debate or contradictory research.
    2. Writing the Literature review:
There are several reasons to write a literature review, and your literature review will include all parts.
These parts are: summarize the research conducted on your topic/variables (what are the researched findings about your topic/variables/hypothesis?), show how your research will build on previous research in the Social Sciences (did other researchers request research like yours?), address weaknesses and strengths in previous research on your topic/variables (look at other people’s research and question their validity and reliability in variables, method, statistics, etc.), and why it appears the hypothesis will be supported based on this exploratory research (is it a well explored hypothesis?).
The study I am doing is on whether or not being bilingual incrases your reading comprehension. Feel free to refrence other papers or studies that have been done on this topic. You do not need to write the hypothesis. I have done everything else for this paper just dont have time to write the introduction. Feel free to reach out with questions.

  • Ensuring Patient Safety: A Systems-Level Recommendation for a High-Reliability Organization

    INTRODUCTION
Patient safety is an integral part of value-based healthcare. Ensuring patient safety can lead to faster recovery times, which, in turn, leads to lower costs of care. When combined, these factors result in improved patient satisfaction. Ensuring patient safety requires professional nurses to be proactive in identifying potential safety concerns and proposing evidence-based solutions to mitigate those concerns across the healthcare continuum.
Your goal for this task is to clearly and concisely propose a recommendation that addresses an identified systems-level safety issue that affects patients within a healthcare setting, such as your practice or a colleague’s practice, using convincing evidence to promote the necessity for change.
    REQUIREMENTS
Your submission must be your original work. No more than a combined total of 30% of the submission and no more than a 10% match to any one individual source can be directly quoted or closely paraphrased from sources, even if cited correctly. The similarity report that is provided when you submit your task can be used as a guide.
You must use the rubric to direct the creation of your submission because it provides detailed criteria that will be used to evaluate your work. Each requirement below may be evaluated by more than one rubric aspect. The rubric aspect titles may contain hyperlinks to relevant portions of the course.
Tasks may not be submitted as cloud links, such as links to Google Docs, Google Slides, OneDrive, etc., unless specified in the task requirements. All other submissions must be file types that are uploaded and submitted as attachments (e.g., .docx, .pdf, .ppt).
    A.  Discuss a systems-level safety concern in a healthcare setting by applying the situation, background, assessment, recommendation (SBAR) format by doing the following:
    1.  Describe a healthcare-related situation (S) prompting a systems-level patient safety concern that has the potential to impact multiple patients.
    2.   Analyze background (B) information about the concern by doing the following:
    a.  Describe the data that support or would support the need for change.
    b.  Explain how one or more national patient safety standards apply to this situation.
    3.   Assess (A) the impact of the safety concern on the patient(s), staff, and the organization as situated in the identified healthcare setting.
    a.  Explain how the safety concern affects value for the patient(s) and the healthcare setting.
    4.   Recommend (R) an evidence-based practice change that addresses the safety concern.
    a.  Discuss how this recommendation aligns with the principles of a high-reliability organization.
    b.  Describe two potential barriers to the recommended practice change.
    c.  Identify two potential interventions to minimize the barriers from part A4b to the recommended practice change.
    d.  Discuss the significance of shared decision-making among the healthcare setting’s relevant stakeholders in implementing this recommendation.
    e.  Describe an outcome measure that could be used to evaluate the results of the recommendation.
    f.   Describe the care delivery model currently being used in the healthcare setting.
    i.  Explain how the current care delivery model in the healthcare setting identified in part A4f would be impacted by the recommended change in part A4.
    B.  Acknowledge sources, using in-text citations and references, for content that is quoted, paraphrased, or summarized.
    C.  Demonstrate professional communication in the content and presentation of your submission.

  • “Meeting the Challenges of Nursing Education: Exploring the Complexities of Curriculum Development”

In the 21st century, nursing faces numerous challenges, including a growing population of elderly and critically ill patients, rising healthcare costs, shortages of nursing staff and educators, and an aging nursing workforce. To meet the evolving demands of healthcare, nurse educators must continuously evaluate and update curricula, teaching methods, and programs to adequately prepare new nurses for practice. Quality education depends greatly on skilled and capable faculty members. Faculty development and vacancies pose significant challenges in nursing education. Factors such as limited resources in nursing schools, greater demands for participation in non-academic university activities, and comparatively low salaries contribute to the shortage of nurses. This shortage, in turn, limits the capacity of nursing programs. Educators require practical experience to effectively integrate theory into practice, align theoretical concepts with practical courses, employ evidence-based educational strategies, and equip nursing students with the skills needed in the contemporary healthcare environment (Fawaz et al., 2018).
Within this course, we are exploring the complex field of curriculum development in nursing education. A critical aspect of this study involves examining the historical forces that have shaped nursing education to its present state. As noted by Billings and Halstead, nursing education has undergone significant evolution, influenced by changes in society, advancements in healthcare, and the evolving role of nurses in the healthcare system. This historical context offers valuable insights into the current challenges and opportunities in nursing education (Billings & Halstead, 2019).
A major influence on nursing curriculum development is the broader societal and higher education context. The importance of aligning nursing curricula with societal needs and trends, ensuring that graduates are prepared to meet the evolving demands of healthcare. Additionally, Keating and DeBoor highlight the impact of legal, economic, and global health issues on nursing education, emphasizing the need for curricula that address these complex challenges. Given these influences, it is evident that nursing education curriculum must be adaptable and responsive to the changing healthcare landscape. This necessitates a thorough understanding of both the theoretical foundations and practical applications of curriculum development in nursing education (Keating & DeBoor, 2018).
In summary, this course offers a comprehensive examination of curriculum development in nursing education, including historical influences, societal and higher education considerations, legal, economic, and global health issues, as well as nursing-specific factors. By engaging with these topics, we can deepen our understanding of curriculum development and contribute to the advancement of nursing education.
