DIKW Paradigm in Healthcare Informatics
In the era of cloud computing bringing patient information from paper to electronic has opened avenues of collecting an intensive amount of data. Healthcare data involves a variety of complex steps to extrapolate valid data that supports evidence-based practices. The complexity of extrapolating data from multiple disciplines and interprofessional collaboration builds that foundation that contributes directly to the coordination of care. The disciplinary approach for understanding informatics is the data, information, knowledge, and wisdom (DIKW) paradigm, which is the knowledge of the core elements of informatics.

To make analytical decisions concerning health care information the data must be retrievable, accurate, relevant, verifiable, and timely. Informatics allows data to be extrapolated from different platforms providing the knowledge and giving insight to the wisdom when making decisions that support improved patient outcomes.
Before you begin, be sure you review the following resources:

Discussion Topic
For this week’s discussion review the two videos and discuss the process of DIKW to the following scenario.
Mike P. is a medical assistant who works in a small clinic providing patient check-ins, immunizations, and laboratory procedures. Today, Mike P. is screening a patient who has multiple health challenges – asthma, multiple sclerosis, kidney disease, and auditory deficit. The patient lives with his parents and presents today without hearing aids. Mike P prepares for screening the patient by review the patient’s record through EHR. He notes patient has not had a flu vaccine and needs an updated medication reconciliation. The clinical decision support system (CDSS) lists him as having an auditory deficit and requires sign language. As Mike P prepares to screen the patient, he calls the patient back to the screening room using sign language. Mike notices the patient is showing signs of respiratory difficulty and consults with the physician.
In your original post, answer the following:
Apply the DIKW to the above scenario, explaining each step in the DIKW paradigm.
How is this applicable to informatics and evidence-based practices?

“Decision Making in the Workplace: Strategies for Success”
Background
This module’s topic focused on Decision Making. You were exposed to framework, processes, and offered applied lessons.
Reflect upon the message and themes learned from the assigned reading materials. In particular, focus on how your current or prior work environment includes decision-making as a managerial experience, process, and procedure on a daily basis. Think through the impact of decisions, from the minor to the major decisions on the organization. Decision Making can be straightforward, completed collaboratively, come from a top-down approach, or conducted in a very linear way. Knowing your stakeholders, your audience, and the externalities involved in decisions is key to understanding the impacts while also choosing the right process to follow. Surrounding every decision is the need to communicate the issue(s), the process, and the results or impact to others. Assignment
For this assignment, you are tasked with crafting an Infographic.
Infographics are visual communication tools that use pictures, minimal textboxes, sometimes hyperlinks, space, and color to effectively and efficiently spread a message. Infographics are tailored to the experience, crafted for a specific reason, and are used to reach multiple audiences.
You will craft an infographic based on Decision Making and applied to your organization (or one that you are familiar with). Put time, effort, and your creative mind into developing an infographic that effectively communicates one of the concepts of Decision Making that has been discussed in this module. For example, you may want to highlight bounded rationality or depict how the brain processes information for decision-making or craft a flow chart for improving quality decisions. You may choose any concept of Decision Making that we have reviewed in this module.

Title: Disseminating Evidence-Based Practice: Strategies and Barriers
*********PLEASE MAKE SURE THERE ARE IN TEXT CITATIONS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LATEST APA FORMAT AND ABSOLUTLY NI AI USE TURNIT IN WILL DETECT IT WHICH WILL RESULT IN TERMINATION FROM THE UNIVERITY*****
As your EBP skills grow, you may be called upon to share your expertise with others. While EBP practice is often conducted with unique outcomes in mind, EBP practitioners who share their results can both add to the general body of knowledge and serve as an advocate for the application of EBP.
In this Discussion, you will explore strategies for disseminating EBP within your organization, community, or industry. To Prepare:
Review the Resources and reflect on the various strategies presented throughout the course that may be helpful in disseminating effective and widely cited EBP.This may include: unit-level or organizational-level presentations, poster presentations, and podium presentations at organizational, local, regional, state, and national levels, as well as publication in peer-reviewed journals.
Reflect on which type of dissemination strategy you might use to communicate EBP.
