b. In Hepburn’s Speed Model, the coefficients of vehicles are indicated for C and D. As the chief of operations in your organization, you are responsible for presenting the yearly budget for the semi trucks in your company’s inventory. Since your safety officer is insisting that each of your drivers must maintain an average speed of 55mph, what would be the vehicle operating cost of your company for each semi-truck in cent per mile? ____(10 points)
c. A taxi driver plans to pick you up at the airport and drop you off at the bank so you can complete some financial transaction before you head home. He notes that the change in vehicle operating cost (VOC) is 42 cents per mile. Given that his fuel consumption per minute is 0.2, what is the approximate price of fuel for this given arrangement if you delayed the driver for 36 minutes at the bank? ____(10 points)
d. The simple interest for buying a passenger transit rail is shown as the product of the principle amount (P), time (in years), and annual rate (R). The City of Phoenix plans to buy five additional mass transit cars for $15 million, and pay off its loan in 30 years. What would the annual percentage rate be if the city plans to make an interest payment of $2 million? ____(10 points)
e. In a box model, the maximum distance to transport particle across a city is calculated as follows: Approximate length of one side is 30 miles, width is 28 miles and the mixing height is 2 miles. To the nearest mile, what will be this distance? ____(10 points)
f. In a box model, the maximum distance to transport particle across a city is calculated as follows: Approximate length of one side is 30 miles, width is 28 miles and the mixing height is 2 miles. For a pollutant particle emitted on one side of the town, what is the maximum time it will take to be transported across the city with wind velocity of 10 miles per hour (to the nearest hour)? ____(12 points)
g. In a box model, the maximum distance to transport particle across a city is calculated as follows: Approximate length of one side is 30 miles, width is 28 miles and the mixing height is 2 miles. These references serve to provide context, add depth to the story, and make connections to real-world events. By exploring these historical references
Directions
Complete this assignment following the steps below.
Download the Fishbone and PDSA Quality Improvement assignment PowerPoint templateLinks to an external site.. Use of the template is required. A 10% deduction will be applied if the template is not used. See the rubric. Type your responses on the template in place of the [Type Here] text. Do not submit handwritten notes. Save the template and include your name in the file name.
Select a quality improvement (QI) problem that requires quality improvement. This should be the same problem you described in the Wednesday Check-In. It may be a real problem you are currently encountering in practice or clinical rotations, a past or future concern, or a problem from the literature you are familiar with. Form a problem statement with that information. Some examples of problem statements include but are not limited to:
The fall rate on the unit is above the benchmark.
The rate of ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) on the unit is above the benchmark.
The central line-associated bloodstream infection (CLABSI) rate is above the benchmark.
Admitted clients boarding in the Emergency Department are experiencing delays in care.
Healthcare providers are experiencing workplace violence with high injury rates.
Gather 1-2 scholarly sources of literature that document this problem in healthcare and provide evidence supporting the need for quality improvement.
Complete the sections in the template outlining the problem, the rationale for the selection of the problem, and the literature documenting the need for a solution. Each section should include 2-3 sentences. Cite sources where specified.
Use the fishbone diagram in the template to complete a root cause analysis of the problem.
Briefly describe the problem
Under each category (People, Environment, Method/Process, and Equipment/Supplies), list at least two contributing factors to the problem. The contributing factors may fall under more than one category. See the example in the lesson.
Mark each contributing factor as a realistic or unrealistic target for improvement efforts using the visual designations on the template. For example, staffing, while a contributing factor to many problems, is not a realistic target for improvement efforts.
Complete the PDSA Quality Improvement Project outline using the spaces provided on the template (replacing the [Type Here] instructions with your text). Write this section acting as if you have completed the QI project.
Select one contributing factor from the fishbone diagram. This should be one of the realistic targets for improvement efforts identified on the fishbone diagram.
List 2-4 interprofessional stakeholders involved in the project (delete any unused [Type Here] text).
Write one SMART goal for the PDSA Quality Improvement Project.
Under the “Plan” phase, write a plan for the quality improvement project to meet the SMART goal. How will you meet your SMART goal? Describe your plan in 2-3 sentences.
Under the “Do” phase, imagine you have completed the project. Briefly describe how the Plan was hypothetically implemented. What were the results? Include hypothetical data. Describe your implementation in 2-3 sentences using past tense.
Under the “Study” phase, imagine that you have completed the project. Briefly evaluate the data. Did your results demonstrate successful implementation? Identify whether the goal was met or not met. Describe your evaluation using 2-3 sentences using past tense.
Under the “Act” phase, imagine that you have completed the project. Briefly describe how to maintain the improvement or revise and repeat the PDSA process based on whether or not the goal was met. Describe your process in 2-3 sentences using past tense. See the example in the lesson.
Click the Submit button at the top of this page to upload your completed assignment.
Correctly cite and reference ideas and information that come from scholarly literature. Sources should be no more than five years old unless they are historical references. Hanging indent is not required.
Follow grammar, spelling, word usage, and punctuation rules consistent with formal, scientific writing. -

“The Right to Counsel: An Analysis of Gideon v Wainwright through Film and Case Law”
Gideon’s Trumpet, which is based upon the actual case of Gideon v Wainwright. It is on
YouTube and it is in several segments. Please watch the entire movie. This is a
terrific dramatization of the development of case law.
Please prepare a written analysis of the
case, either through the movie or read the case itself. As you know it is about
the right to counsel.
1. What was the issue before the Judge in trial?
2.
What was his answer?
3.
Why could or when could Florida’s courts
assign counsel?
4. Why was federalism an issue in this case?
Please pay special attention to the
recreation of the case at the USSC and please review the analysis by the
Justices. One of the first comments from a Justice, played by the actor, Sam
Jaffe, was about whether or not a person could represent himself as well as a
lawyer could. The attorney for Gideon responds in an interesting way. He
asserts that the court is correct, and that a person cannot get a fair trial
without a lawyer.
5.
Do you agree?
6.
Is there a difference between quality of
presentation, the presence of a lawyer and the lack of due process?
7.
Please explain the appellate process and
how this case went from a small crime to a significant Supreme Court Decision.
8.
In looking at the second trial, what if
anything did you see admitted into evidence that was omitted in the first
trial?
9.
Which was correct in your opinion? Please
explain. -
The Power of Persuasion: Analyzing the Use of Ethos, Logos, and Pathos in Dr. Kilbourne’s “Slim Hopes” and Ashley Graham’s TED Talk
This forum requires the viewing of two videos: the first is an excerpt from Dr. Kilbourne’s talk “Slim Hopes” and the second is a TED Talk by Ashley Graham.
Dr. Jean Kilbourne is a renowned speaker who has made a career of presenting on her critical analyses of the effects of advertising on the American culture (ChallengingMedia, 2006). The video is of a brief excerpt (5:10) of Kilbourne’s talk “Slim Hopes,”Links to an external site. where she aims to persuade her audience that our culture’s current obsession with weight stems in part from the powerful influence advertising has on our culture. In fact, she argues that “there is no aspect more pervasive or more persuasive than advertising.” Also, while not required, you may want to view other videos by KilbourneLinks to an external site.which discuss the media’s influence on our culture’s attitudes regarding alcohol, tobacco, and sexuality.
The second video “Plus Size? More Like My Size”Links to an external site. is from a TED Talk by Ashley Graham, a model who is a major voice in the body acceptance movement (TEDx Talks, 2015). Also, study the chapter on persuasive presentations in our textbook. In light of the videos, the text, and your own experiences, respond to the questions below:
How do the speakers effectively address the appeals of ethos, logos, and pathos?
How do the images and data serve to persuade?
With regard to kairos and context, how may modern viewers respond to Kilbourne’s message differently than those who viewed these messages when they were first created (Kilbourne’s videos were made nearly 20 years ago)?
How does seeing Ashley Graham, a modern voice, support the work Kilbourne has been doing?
Finally, what is your personal reaction? Do you relate? Do you find the messages persuasive? Does the context or age of Kilbourne’s videos affect your receptiveness of her message?
Be sure to respond to others. As a reminder, connect to a scholarly source beyond the videos from Kilbourne and Graham.

Title: “The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F***: Chapter Summaries and Discussion Questions”
Summarize every of the 9 chapters of thr book “The subtle art of not giving a f*****” by Mark Manson, and for each of the 9 chapters provide a short summary, plus a question for class discussion . This is an example :
Chapter 4 of the subtle art of not giving a fuck starts off with the story of a Japanese soldier who went off to the pacific islands in the war, and following his superiors order to never come out of the woods, he stayed there for over almost 30 years. The Japanese army looked for him for over 20 years and could not find him, but a hippie did over the span of 4 months.
The reasoning of Suzuki finding Onoda on such a short amount of time is uncertain, but could it be because he couldn’t care less about what people thought of him, that he gave 0 f**** about the odds of finding the missing soldier, my question: Can delusion be the secret ingredient at being successful at a task regardless of how stupidly impossible it may seem?? -
