McMinn discussed guidelines when confronting sin during a counseling experience and the lectures reviewed some factors as well. Your thread needs to be answered in two parts:
First, what would be the challenges (based on the lectures) of confronting clearly wrong behavior/ “sin” in the life of your client if you were working in a secular human services setting? Draw in concepts from the lecture to support your position. How might the approach from psychology make it difficult to confront clearly wrong behavior (worldview and perspective on attribution, for instance)?
Second, assume that you counseled in a human services setting in which you could integrate spirituality and a Christian worldview. Review the following brief “case” and answer the following questions:
Based on the lectures and McMinn, why can’t a sensitive Christian counselor just automatically and quickly confront obvious sin in the life of the counselee?
Of the cautions mentioned by the course materials, which ones do you think counselors most often overlook?
From what you learned from the lectures/McMinn, how would you best address the clearly sinful behavior of this client?
Case Study
Jim is a client in your counseling center, who you have seen for about 8 months. He has been cycled through several other counselors and one described him as a “basket case.” Jim has several children, each with a different mother. He casually mentions that he rarely sees them, and since he can’t hold down a job, he provides no financial support. Some of his children are now in foster care. He engages in unprotected sex on a weekly basis. Typical of many of your clients, Jim drinks heavily and abuses street drugs. He comes to counseling only because it is required for him to receive the tangible support services of your agency. You are at the point in your counseling with Jim that you’d like to “let him have it” but your counseling training did not include that as a valid counseling technique. There is obviously much more to Jim’s story but suffice it to say that he is repeating many of the behaviors he learned from his parents’ dysfunctional parenting.
While you are sharing opinion here, you must demonstrate informed opinion by supporting your points with references to the course materials. Utlize rubric posted as well

“Addressing a Public Health Problem in the Community: A Program Proposal for Improving Health, Safety, and Social Justice” “Promoting Public Health: Strategies for Effective Program Evaluation and Considerations for Impact and Future Implications”
18 pages plus cover
and refrences in APA format double spaced 12 point times new roman. Please see attached milestone submissions
Create a program
proposal that seeks to address a public health problem in a given community. By
conducting an assessment of a need in the community and a review of literature,
you will present a convincing argument relative to why the chosen health
problem must be addressed, followed by sound recommendations that illustrate
how your proposal will improve the health, safety, and quality of life for
people in their communities while also promoting social justice.
Specifically, the
following critical elements must be addressed:
I.
Statement
of the Problem
A.
Briefly discuss the
public health problem, including epidemiological patterns, trends, and
populations affected. Is this a population or individual health problem?
B.
Analyze the social
determinants of health- and social justice-related disparities that impact the
distribution of this problem in a community or target population.
C.
Briefly discuss your
program proposal’s objectives and its logic model for planning. Would your
program proposal focus on prevention or treatment?
D.
Conduct an assessment
of a need in your community, ensuring the inclusion of a description of the
community and how this proposed program may improve the health, safety, and
quality of life for people in their communities. Be sure to specify the
ecological framework for health problems within the community. Note that you will
not conduct a full community needs assessment; rather, you will identify a need
through a preliminary review of local newspapers or other relevant sources.
Your instructor is available to review sources and identify ways to obtain
information and navigate the system. From there, you will research what is out
there, what is missing, what others have done to solve the problem, and so on.
This evaluation presents an opportunity for you to engage the community by
contacting appropriate individuals either directly or using the internet or
telephone to interview them about the problem selected.
E.
Based on your program
proposal’s objectives and your assessment of the need in the community,
evaluate project methods such as study/intervention design and statistical issues
related to sampling, measurement, and analysis for their strengths and
weaknesses in addressing the public health problem you have identified.
II.
Literature
Review
Using secondary
sources, analyze how the health problem is being addressed in other
communities. How prevalent is it? Through a review of the literature, evaluate
the social, political, and historical milestones and trends relative to the
identified problem. You should also review interventions that have been
attempted in other communities and their success, or lack thereof.
A.
Provide evidence by
reviewing the scientific literature related to public health problem,
information on the needs of the community, potential interventions or programs,
and appropriate and relevant theoretical framework(s).
B.
Analyze the human
subjects-related concerns and protections that will be established in the
proposal. In other words, what issues must be considered with regard to human
participation research, and how will those issues be not only addressed, but
protected (e.g., Institutional Review Board approval) throughout the proposal?
III.
Recommendations
Based on the statement
of the problem, a thorough review of the literature, and the identification of
potential program/intervention model(s) and theoretical framework(s) related to
the health problem, provide recommendations for addressing the issue through
appropriate public health strategies (including public policy, community mobilization,
patient or provider education, and health communications).
A.
Based on your research
and identified community need, concisely suggest (one paragraph at the most)
appropriate technical and professional communication strategies that will
promote your public health program.
B.
Propose evaluation
methods for determining efficacy of the program. According to the CDC, program
evaluation questions generally fall into several groups. How will you evaluate
your program based on this framework? For example, would you use the
implementation, effectiveness, efficiency, or cost-effectiveness method of
evaluation?
C.
How will you attend to
attribution (i.e., can progress on goals and objectives be shown to relate to
your program, as opposed to other things that are going on at the same time) in
your program?
IV.
Conclusion
A.
Articulate any
limitations of the proposal.
B.
Summarize how the
rights, interests, and freedom of individuals and community interests may be
impacted by the program proposal.
C.
Discuss implications
for future research or related projects or programs. -

“Growing Nannochloropsis Algae: A Low-Cost Method for Live Feed Production and its Relevance to Aquaculture” “Mastering the Conventions of Writing: A Guide to Grammar, Terminology, and Spelling”
What you’re doing:
You will be using your purchased kit for growing algae for this particular assignment and preparing a laboratory notebook style write up. That will include an aerator, algae, culture vessel, and secchi disk. This is a low cost method for you to actually raise a viable live feed. Students will culture this species and document this in an online lab book and create a short reflection on the relevance of this experience.
Why you’re doing it:
This particular assignment relates to the course project in planning for the larval cycle of a finfish or if doing molluscs culture planning for larval nutrition.
What you need to know:
Before beginning this assignment, reflect on the positives and negatives of growing a live feed. Review Chapter 9.1.2 Microalgaes from the textbook (Aquaculture: Farming of Aquatic Animals and Plants). In this chapter they discuss culture methods and commercial production of algaes.
(1) Algae Culture Kit and Growing SuppliesLinks to an external site.
(2) Secchi StickLinks to an external site.
This kit will include the method and supplies for anyone to grow Nannochloropsis an ecologically and industrially important strain of algae. It contains everything you need to grow a laboratory-grade culture at home or at your desk! It includes the following:
Instructions: information about the strain of algae, illustrated growing protocol, culture care lessons, life-cycle background of batch-culture cycles.
Culture flask: tissue culture flask (50 ml volume) with a breathable cap (included in the smallest kit only)
Culture inoculum: 1ml in a dense culture in a 1.5ml micro-centrifuge tube.
Nutrient Fertilizer: our nutrients are a modification of the media formula called f/2 (Guillard and Ryther 1962, Guillard 1975). It uses NaNO3 (sodium nitrate) and NaPO4 (sodium phosphate) as the nitrogen and phosphorus sources.
Culturing Salts: Add salts to a 500ml bottle of drinking water (water not included in the kit).
Using the directions from the kit you will set up the nutrient salt water
Instructions:
Students will culture and provide evidence they have set up and cultured the organisms via an online lab notebook that they create.
Section 1 picture of set up
Section 2 description of methods in step-by-step bullet points and variables related to algae growth(light provided, water type, salt, etc).
Students will measure the density of their algae cultures with a secchi disk by day and present data in table format. This is the best way to measure (turbidity) and a way to extrapolate cell density overall.
Students will reflect in a lab notebook conclusion on the use of this species of algae and its relevance to aquaculture.
This assignment will help you on the course project with thinking about your species profile and considering the larval nutrition stage of your culture or any special requirements needed for live food culture. Will your organism require a live feed at any stage of their life cycle? If not what feed is required for each stage.

Integrating Assessment Tools and Interventions for Effective Mental Healthcare: A Case Study of Tony
Edit and add DO A Client MAP into words to this part of the paper
Counseling and Assessment
If Tony came seeking professional mental healthcare services, the two assessments I would use are similar to Dr. Melfi’s approach. I would use the BDI-II tool to examine the severity of depression symptoms. The BDI-II is a (Krzikalla et al., 2023). Also, I would use the Generalized Anxiety Disorder 7 (GAD-7) scale to examine the severity of his anxiety. Casares et al. (2024) claim that GAD-7 is a brief, reliable, and easy-to-use tool for assessing the severity of self-reported anxiety symptoms. The purpose of using the GAD-7 and BDI-II is to examine the severity of anxiety and depression, respectively. This would aid in screening, diagnosing, and examining the severity of the anxiety and depression disorders for effective intervention. This would enable me to give him a better diagnosis of mental healthcare disorders. Monterrosa-Velescu et al. (2024) argue that GAD-7 uses a 7-item scale to assess psychometric properties and generalized anxiety disorder. I would eventually put Tony under Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and recommend coping strategies such as meditation and physical activities like bicycle racing. -
