  • “The Illusion of Self and Moral Responsibility: A Philosophical Debate between David Hume and John Locke” Thesis statement: While both David Hume and John Locke have differing views on the concept of self, their ideas can be applied to

Write a 750 word essay Your answer should directly respond to the prompt in complete sentences.
    • your response must heavily discuss the issue in connection with these two philosophers and their work : David Hume and John Locke
    • Your answer should have a thesis statement that clearly states the position you take on the debate presented in your chosen prompt.
    • Your answer should also be complete enough to score 10 points(7-8 paragraphs).
Prompt: You and your friend discuss a high-profile case in the news of a person who was just convicted of a horrendous murder. Your friend argues that the conviction makes no sense because the person is not morally responsible for their actions. After all, your friend argues, the idea of someone being responsible for their actions assumes that there is such a thing as the self to begin with! Your friend assures you that, in fact, there is no such thing as the self, no underlying persistent person. The self is merely an illusion. If there is no self, then there can be no moral responsibility. At best, we should imprison violent individuals not to punish them for any moral wrong-doing, but only to keep the rest of society safe. How would you respond to your friend?

  • Title: The Impact of Innovation and Fintech on Credit Risk Levels in US Financial Institutions: A Literature Review

    Literature Review
The Master’s Thesis topic is the impact of Innovation and Fintech on Credit Risk levels in financials in the USA, but we struggle to find relevant data so it’s still subject to change (not just financials but all US public companies).
I need a literature review for this topic containing at least 20 papers from academic, peer- reviewed journals and one reference book (not a textbook). The research question is not yet strictly defined (let’s say something like: How does the adoption of fintech solutions influence the credit risk levels of financial institutions in the USA?) but to give you better idea what the literature review should be about, our research methodology would be to find and use the following parameters representing innovation and fintech as X variables throughout a given decade:
    R&D spending
Whether implement blockchain or not (statista)
    Whether holding/investing any tokenized projects
Whether they mention tokenization in their annual shareholder reports (13-F)
We also need market return, market size, book-to-market ratio
And then use 3 different credit risk measures and compute regression models to see what is the relationship.
You will find an Excel file with academic papers that we found relevant to the topic and potentially as reference. You can use them but you are absolutely free to use other papers if you think they are more valuable, I even encourage you to do so.
The Master Thesis should be formatted in Times New Roman 12 (or equivalent) with 1.5 line spacing and 2.5cm margins. Text should be justified. In text-references and the bibliography should use an internationally recognized system of referencing.
    References rules:
The References section should typically contain only the works consulted and found relevant and thus cited by the author in the report. The inclusion of an irrelevant item is as much a defect as the exclusion of a relevant one. Each item should be a full reference. All references should be listed in alphabetical order (and numerical order for several references of the same author).
When referring in the text of the research project to items in the bibliography the author’s name and the date of publication should be cited: e.g. “Surveys conducted by Smith (1988) showed ….”
    or “A recent study (Smith, 1988, p. 17), has shown …”
For publications by two authors, both are given: e.g .”A recent study (Smith & Jones, 1988) showed …” For publications by three and more authors, the first author is given, followed by et al. A recent study (Smith et al., 1988) showed …”

Calculate and display the mean LAST_GIFT_AMT by LAST_GIFT_YEAR.
    6. Using SAS: Handling Missing Values for DONOR_AGE
Perform a data integrity check on DONOR_AGE.
Discuss whether to remove records with missing values and provide a rationale.
    7. Using SAS: Missing Values Imputation for DONOR_AGE
Observe the current values and apply various imputation methods: mean, hot-deck, stochastic regression, and predictive mean matching (PMM).
Provide a detailed analysis and recommendation based on the imputation results.
    8. Using SAS: Handling Missing Values for Categorical Variables

Identify and apply the appropriate transformation to address skewness.
Use the BoxCox transformation method to discuss the optimal lambda and new skewness value.
    10. Using SAS and R: Advanced Statistical Techniques
Calculate the median origination date in years and format as MM/DD/YYYY.
Implement kNN imputation in R and evaluate if the results alter any recommendations.
This assignment emphasizes the practical application of SAS and R programming in data management, specifically in handling dates, analyzing distributions, and imputing missing data.
