Prepare a two-page analysis of your insurance needs, particularly your life insurance program, but possibly including home, auto, health, and so forth. Submit the paper to this dropbox.
While consulting any of various insurance agents (life, health, property, and casualty) would be helpful for this portion of your Personal Financial Plan, consider the following simple exercise to gain perspective on life insurance, particularly how to know what level of coverage is sufficient.
To conceptualize the practical value of one’s life insurance death benefit, begin by writing out the face amount of a life insurance contract. Let’s assume that the death-benefit amount is $100,000. This exercise requires that you cross off the first four zeros starting from the right ($100,000). Multiply the remaining numbers by 2 ($10 x 2). The product or result of this calculation is the amount effectually made available to beneficiaries in terms of a daily value (in this case = $20). This assumes that none of the death benefit is used to pay debts, nor invested for other purposes. Rather, this amount would be used for daily living expenses. In other words, a $100,000 death benefit conceptually provides $20 in living expenses per day to a beneficiary. Furthermore, this $20 benefit would last for approximately 13.6 years (again, assuming no other purpose for the death benefit). This gives perspective on the value of a life insurance payout.
Students should use Worksheet 12 in the BUS-241 Resources folder on Moodle to evaluate their life insurance need. (I ATTACHED THEM BELOW)

Title: Assessing Risks, Rewards, and Impact for Proposed Management Solutions
Instructions
Instructions: Read the material at the sites listed in the Week 4 and 5 Content Section to help guide you assess the risks/rewards and impact identification related to the solution(s) to the management problem you are exploring. Complete a 4-6 page paper discussing the risks/rewards and impact identification to your client as they relate to the management problem you chose.
Submission Instructions: Upload the paper to your Week 5 Assignment folder. While these are not all-inclusive questions, they can provide guidance and clarity when developing the Risk Assessment. Risk analysis should be completed for each proposed solution.
Part 1: Risks and Rewards
What changes in roles and responsibilities would be required with personnel changes?
What is the succession plan?
What new systems or skills will employees need to gain? What is the financial cost?
What interdepartmental changes need to be made (manufacturing, sales, delivery, financial, and IT)?
Would communication barriers increase or decrease?
How would the proposed solutions impact clients? Would it increase their engagement level?
Would the changes impact the brand or reputation in the industry?
Part 2: Impact Identification
As you do your analysis (BIA), consider both short-term and long-term impacts and how employees, clients, and stakeholders will respond to the potential changes in the business environment. Identifying the short and long-term consequences can help make the necessary adjustment to your plan. -

Papers must be written in APA style format (12 point, Times New Roman font; double spaced, 1” margins, title page).
A rubric will be provided but we will discuss this in more detail in class.

The Benefits and Importance of Implementing an HRIS at Organic Goodies: A Case Study Analysis
Denise Wright was recently hired as the Director of Human Resources for Organic Goodies, a mid-sized, family-owned, manufacturer of healthy, organic snacks. The company has experienced significant growth over the past two years, almost doubling in size, and they have been struggling to fill open positions. Denise was brought in to develop a recruiting plan and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the HR team. It didn’t take Denise long to realize she had a mess on her hands. There was no HRIS so almost all HR functions were done manually. A few examples include:
Candidates had to submit paper applications or resumes
Benefit elections were recorded on paper and manually entered into the vendor’s website
Timecards were manually calculated and entered into the payroll system
Performance reviews were completed on paper
Additionally, without an HRIS, this means there is no data available to effectively analyze HR problems. Denise knew these manual processes were costing the organization money and wasting the talents of the HR team. They were spending so much time on administrative duties they had no time to be strategic or forward-thinking. She knew to be successful in her new role, she had to convince the executive team they needed to invest in a Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
Instructions
Respond to the following points and questions using the criteria below.
Identify three ways Denise and her team can benefit from the implementation of an HRIS. Be sure to defend your response.
Identify the five HRIS decision steps involved in selecting an HRIS (as stated in the text).
Of the five decision steps, which do you think is the most important? Be sure to defend your response.
Prepare an argument Denise can use to convince the executive team to invest in a new HRIS.
Case Study Requirements
Your response be at least three (3) pages long. Remember the formatting in APA Style: 12-point Times New Roman font, double-spacing, first-line indent, and one-inch margins.
Use a minimum of two credible resources, which may include this week’s supplemental reading and other sources, to support your findings and conclusions. Please refer to the grading criteria listed below. Click on View longer description for more details on how you are graded.
Submit your assignment using the instructions below. Please include the name of the assignment in the title. Example: JSmith_W1_Case. -

“Ensuring Alignment: Revising the Problem Statement and Finding Evidence for the Capstone Study”
As you continue revising your problem statement and finding evidence for the problem, you need to make sure that these components are aligned. Using the same wording for your main concepts, populations, study, etc. helps.
To complete:
By Day 7 of Week 3, post your revised one-sentence problem statement and three bullet points (do not post your paragraphs into the discussion) noting where you will find or have already found the evidence that support your problem.
Keep deliberating about the feedback on your problem statement and keep reading peer-reviewed research articles about the particular problem you have selected. Not only do you have to provide solid evidence that the problem exists, but also that this is a topic relevant to the educational community.
For example:
The problem to be addressed through this study is that approximately 60% of 9th grader do not score proficient on the reading comprehension subscale of the Georgia Milestone Assessment System (GMAS) at Georgia High School (GHS, a pseudonym).
The solid evidence for this problem statement is the actual reading comprehension 9th grade GMAS scores at GHS for the last 5 years as well as peer-reviewed studies that investigated low reading comprehension scores in Georgia and other states. And here is how you provide a table with the actual test scores in APA7: https://academicguides.waldenu.edu/formandstyle/apa/tablesfiguresLinks to an external site.
A note of caution: Providing solid evidence for the problem of your study takes time and effort. Do not give up if you cannot find evidence right away. Only reading multiple articles will get you there.
And once again, confirm that the problem you have selected falls within the specialization of your doctoral program.
Please remember that you are a few terms away from starting your actual capstone. If you receive a high score on your assignments, that means ONLY that you tried and that you are making progress. It does NOT mean that your problem statement is approved! All you are doing at this point is starting the doctoral journey.
