Pick only one questions, you DO NOT have to answer both questions:
Discussion Question 1:
Lee Corporation releases its financial statements with a simple capital structure for EPS. This period has seen a significant rise in stock price, and to make more shares available at a lower price, the company has planned on a two-for-one stock split.
What effect would this have on EPS, net assets, and WASO?
Do you recommend that Lee Corporation go ahead with the two-for-one split?
Why or why not?
Discussion Question 2:
There are times when a company has a convertible security that is considered to be antidilutive.
What is the proper accounting treatment of these securities with regard to EPS calculations?
What effect do antidilutive securities have on EPS?
Do you think that they should or should not be included in the calculation of EPS?
Why or why not?
Do the antidilutive securities have an effect on the stakeholder’s perspective of the company’s financial position?
Notes from Professor:
The questions this week will give you the chance to explore more involved issues related to earnings per share. It will have a lot of focus in the world of investing business. Managers need to understand EPS and all the different ratifications.

Title: Enhancing National Security and Business Value through Public-Private Partnerships in Cybersecurity
During Week 1 assignments and study, we initially examined the significance of maintaining public-private partnerships in combatting various threats to organization assets. We focused on private security operatives and public law enforcement agencies and the ways these entities can share information and work together to achieve mutually successful threat prevention and risk mitigation strategies and goals, particularly relating to all types of traditional criminal behavior, emergency management preparedness, and terrorism.
Our Week 6 assignments and study focus specifically on how security and intelligence units for private organizations (as described in Week 4 assignments) and government agencies, such as the Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), can maintain collaborative efforts to prevent, mitigate, and manage risk in a way that protects an organization’s assets and indeed those of the United States more effectively.
In this regard, employing this week’s reading assignments, and ensuring your written responses are distinguishable from each other and follow the same sequence and order the questions are presented:
Explain how an organization’s cybersecurity program, particularly those operating in the DHS 16 critical infrastructure sectors, support our national security interests and, at the same time, add business value to its own assets. Use examples to enhance your response.
Discuss how organizations can partner with CISA to build a stronger cybersecurity workforce that serves both national and organizational pursuits.
Describe the technological advances that could potentially be exploited through such public – private partnerships to more effectively protect assets. Provide examples using authoritative resources to support your response.
From this week’s assigned readings, select one example of a public-private partnership. Describe what goals the partnership has, what industries it supports, and whether you believe the partnership serves its goals or meets its mission and how it does or does not serve its goals or meet its mission. -

“Exploring Bias and Cultural Competence in Early Childhood Education” Exploring Bias and Cultural Competence in Early Childhood Education In the field of early childhood education, it is essential to recognize and address our own biases when working with children and families
Module 05 Content
Background
Cultural and linguistic differences can be seen as deficits, or they can be seen as strengths. Whether or not these differences are seen as deficits or resources is based on our own biases. Recognizing these biases, explicit or implicit, is critical to providing an environment which is developmentally, culturally, and linguistically appropriate for each child. Review the “Case Study – Family Cultures and Values” about Ethan and the Moradoro family. Explore how your own biases may influence your interactions and expectations for their behavior if you were Ethan.
Case Study-Family Cultures and Values.pdf
Directions
Review the “Case Study – Family Cultures and Values” involving Ethan and the Moradoro family located in your Module 05 Lesson Content folder, or review the PDF file located directly above. Write a 2-3-page reflective essay by addressing the prompts and questions below.
Why do you think Ethan was quick to judge this family and their situation?
What do you think informed Ethan to make this judgment and bias?
Describe the kind of bias Ethan holds. Implicit or explicit?
Do you think Ethan’s bias originally got in the way of creating a positive solution for Nicolas? Why or why not?
Describe the bias you might hold for the situation. Where might this bias come from?
Is your bias implicit or explicit? How might your bias influence the situation and solution?
What might you need to do to counteract your own biases or potential biases surrounding children in your program?
Make sure to include:
Include APA citations to all sources used for this assignment, and include a reference page, if necessary. Cited sources should be relevant, credible, and appropriate.
All work should be formatted professionally and use correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation. -

COMMUNITY HEALTH INC. 222 BRIDGE STREET SUGARTOWN, NY 13363
TO: COUNSEL’S OFFICE FROM: James Sugarman, Human Resources
RE: ACCOMMODATING A PERSON WITH DIABETES
Dear __________:(student name)
I recently received a request from an employee who suffers from Type 1 diabetes. She presently works in the cafeteria as the Director of Dietary. She has asked us to accommodate her both in her office job, as well as, when she is working in the cafeteria serving meals. She complains that it is difficult for her to stand for long periods of time and has difficulty balancing reading text and the computer screen due to diabetic retinopathy. She is asking for us to accommodate her under Title 1 of the ADA.
Questions Presented:
1-Is she a person with a disability as defined under Title 1 of the ADA? (Community Health Inc. employs more than 15 employees)
2-If so, what kind of accommodations would be appropriate for her and do not pose an undue hardship on Community Health Inc.?
Please read the case and brief attached below so you have an understanding of the ADA historical background. Please also review the ADA amendment excerpt and the link to the American Diabetes Association link to current caselaw paste below.

*ADA Amendment Update:
Notice Concerning The Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) Amendments Act of 2008
On September 25, 2008, the President signed the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act of 2008 (“ADA Amendments Act” or “Act”). The Act emphasizes that the definition of disability should be construed in favor of broad coverage of individuals to the maximum extent permitted by the terms of the ADA and generally shall not require extensive analysis.
The Act makes important changes to the definition of the term “disability” by rejecting the holdings in several Supreme Court decisions and portions of EEOC’s ADA regulations. The effect of these changes is to make it easier for an individual seeking protection under the ADA to establish that he or she has a disability within the meaning of the ADA.
The Act retains the ADA’s basic definition of “disability” as an impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities, a record of such an impairment, or being regarded as having such an impairment. However, it changes the way that these statutory terms should be interpreted in several ways. Most significantly, the Act:
directs EEOC to revise that portion of its regulations defining the term “substantially limits”;
expands the definition of “major life activities” by including two non-exhaustive lists:
the first list includes many activities that the EEOC has recognized (e.g., walking) as well as activities that EEOC has not specifically recognized (e.g., reading, bending, and communicating);
the second list includes major bodily functions (e.g., “functions of the immune system, normal cell growth, digestive, bowel, bladder, neurological, brain, respiratory, circulatory, endocrine, and reproductive functions”);
states that mitigating measures other than “ordinary eyeglasses or contact lenses” shall not be considered in assessing whether an individual has a disability;
clarifies that an impairment that is episodic or in remission is a disability if it would substantially limit a major life activity when active;
changes the definition of “regarded as” so that it no longer requires a showing that the employer perceived the individual to be substantially limited in a major life activity, and instead says that an applicant or employee is “regarded as” disabled if he or she is subject to an action prohibited by the ADA (e.g., failure to hire or termination) based on an impairment that is not transitory and minor;
provides that individuals covered only under the “regarded as” prong are not entitled to reasonable accommodation.
EEOC will be evaluating the impact of these changes on its enforcement guidances and other publications addressing the ADA.
Effective Date:
The ADA Amendments Act is effective as of January 1, 2009. EEOC’s regulations to implement the equal employment provisions of the ADA Amendments Act are effective as of March 25, 2011.
