It is often described as a “nagging question” or something that remains murky and obscure despite the video or text’s attempt to explain it. 2. Describe at least one example of a “muddiest point” that you continue to have after watching both documentaries and explain what more you would like to know about this to understand it. Peer Response

It was surprising to discover how deeply government organizations were involved in the sale of cocaine to finance illegal actions.
Also the larger socioeconomic effects of these operations by highlighting the different ways in which drug trafficking and advanced politic targets were connected. This just sort of combined my understanding to ties between world politics and the illegal drug trade. The muddiest point
After seeing both documentaries, is knowing the methods that modern drug policy have contributed to prevented the opioid and cocaine crises. I want to know more about how well harm reduction techniques work in comparison to punitive tactics to lower drug-related harm and addiction rates. What effects do these strategies have on vulnerable communities that are more affected by these crises.” -

“Exploring Privileges and Drawbacks in Society: A Critical Examination of Personal and Interpersonal Factors”
Critical Thinking Prompt Writing Assignment Choose one of the prompts and prepare a 1-2 page written analysis using the text book, class lectures, and personal experience/stories for support. Your paper should clearly show that you
have considered all angles of the topic at hand, and carefully applied the topics to “real world” situations. Please make sure that this is typed (Times New Roman, 12 pt. font, double spaced), including your full
name, and the day/time of your class.
1. Critically examine yourself when it comes to your race, ethnicity,
first language spoken, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, ability status, socio-economic status, religion, relationship status, education level, and current living location. List these things out in a
few sentences at the beginning of your paper. For the next few paragraphs examine how the characteristics you listed provide privileges
or drawbacks in current American society. Please elaborate on why you feel certain traits are either a privilege or drawback and cite examples
(something you have seen in your life) if possible. Now that you have thought about yourself in these critical ways, take a minute to consider
your parents (or people who raised you) and their privileges and drawbacks. Do you think this shaped how you were raised? Do you think these experiences will shape how you raise your children?
2. This question is meant for someone in a relationship, and will require your partner’s participation. First, go to this website and watch this 6-minute video together: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=doRMsjoDevY
Links to an external site.
Next, fill out your Love Language Quiz, and have your partner do the same. Save both of your results: https://www.5lovelanguages.com/quizzes/couples-quiz/
What were your top 2 love languages, and what were the percentages? List at least 6 specific things that your partner could
do that would make you feel “loved” according to your top 2 results. Next, do the same for your partner’s top 2 love languages, and determine at least 6 things you could do to make them feel loved. Discuss the results of the quiz and the suggested things you
could each do for one another to feel more loved. Do both of you think this method seems correct? Do you feel you can incorporate these methods
into your relationship on a regular basis? Reflect on the experience and on your conversation with your partner.
3. What are your attitudes about “hooking up?” (no commitment) Be specific. If someone engages in this behavior regularly, is it acceptable to be termed “slutty” or “promiscuous?” Do you feel that hooking up is a good way to boost your self-esteem? Does biological sex,
gender identity or sexual orientation make a difference in how pleasurable the experience might be? (to be clear – does one gender/sex have more pleasure than others?) Does hooking up often include the consumption of alcohol or drugs? Do you think “most people” feel comfortable hooking up? Do you think that everyone does it, but they just don’t talk about it? What are the most important parts of attractiveness that lead to a “hook up?” Do men or women generally enjoy the “hook up” more? Why? How many sexual partners is “normal” and
how many is too many?

“Analyzing an Argument: A Critical Review of a Written Text”
Rerwite the attached essay in your own words so that TurnItIn or other Ai detectors do not detect AI in the paper.
ORIGINAL INSTRUCTIONS: “For our first essay, you will be analyzing a written text, an article. You will need to locate an article that presents an opinion or perspective and perform an analysis on the article. Here are the steps you’ll follow:
1. Locate an article or movie (i.e. documentary) that makes an argument.
The article you use must be an argument or analysis. Begin your Textual Analysis paper with a very brief summary of the article—one small paragraph will be sufficient. This could be in your introduction, though be aware your introduction should still have a solid thesis statement; it may be the paragraph after your introduction.
In this summary, include the title of the article/movie and the author.
Move then to the Argument Analysis. You may analyze an argument in several ways.
The claim or thesis. Evaluate or comment on the merits of the claim. Does the claim make sense? Is it clear? (If you can’t find a claim either it’s a summary or a very poorly written argument.) Is it logical? Does the rest of the article prove the claim, or is the statement left unsubstantiated?
The evidence. Evaluate or comment on the merits of the evidence. Is there sufficient evidence to support the claim? Is the evidence relevant to the claim? Is the evidence credible.
Your essay should still follow good essay structure with an introduction/thesis, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Your essay should have a Works Cited page with at least the article/documentary you are reviewing.
Warning: Be careful! This is an ARGUMENT review. Make sure you understand what is being argued and point out the fallacies or potential problems.” -
“The Journey of a Tennis Player: A Story of Passion, Perseverance, and Adventure” Intro: As a tennis player from Serbia, I have been fortunate enough to travel and compete in various countries around the world. From the beautiful beaches

It should discuss the craft components of your writing in that genre (why you did what you did in that piece from a craft standpoint) rather than summarizing your piece. Again, no summaries, please. “Breaking the Habit: Conquering Crutch Words for Clear and Powerful Communication”
using the knowledge you’ve gained from the link for the article and this chapter, answer the following:
Consider any crutch words or phrases that you use. What do you say repetitively? Are any these crutch words considered jargon or slang?
Why do you believe you use the “crutch words” that you do? Do you perceive your “crutch words” impacting your ability to clearly communicate? How does using these words impact the level of power in your language?
What strategies can you use to eradicate frequent crutch words? How might these strategies help your language become more powerful?
Your initial post should be at least 250 words
then respond to two people with 200 words
1- I think that I use crutch phrases more often than crutch words. Especially in typing when there is a specific number of words that need to be used it is easy to throw a bunch of “fluff” into your piece of writing. My preferred crutch phrases include maybe, I guess, either way and whatever works. I think I use these to try and remain neutral and not have to make decisions. I also use a lot of filler adverbs; my favorites include the words: definitely, for sure, to be honestor honestly. I don’t use a lot of social media so all the new slang and phrases that come off of TikTok, for example, I am oblivious to. I don’t think any of what I previously listed are considered slang, just filler and fluff. I think a lot of people when speaking use “uh” or “um” or some variation of that sound when they need a moment to think. Opposite of that, when I was in 6th grade and 8th grade I had the same English teacher, I loved her she was the best, anyhow, she had a “clicker” and whenever a student would use “um” or “like” she would click her clicker and count how many times you used it during your speech. Instead of saying anything I try and just pause and breath briefly. I think how adamant my 6th/8th grade teacher played an important role in how I speak and use language. She made us make a conscious effort to think about what we were saying and how it came out.
2-I use crutch words all the time. The one crutch word I use repeatedly is umm. If I had to say I would think umm is a slang word, but I could be wrong. An Another word I use a lot that is a slang word is babe.
I use this word all the time because my mouth can not keep up with my brain so I will forget what I am trying to say so I have to literally think on what I am trying to say. Another reason why I use that word is because I get nervous because I do not like talking in front of people. I use babe all the time because that is what I grew up hearing, so I adapt to it, so I call my girlfriend that also.
The strategy I use to not say umm is before I start talking, I think about what I am trying to say, and I take a deep breath and then I talk. When I do that, I do not mess up and I can get everything I want to say out. I did not develop that strategy on my own, but my first speech teacher taught me that and I have been using it ever since.
I have not developed any strategy for babe because I just use it all the time. I do not know what other word to use except her name to fix it. If I use her real name, she is going to be mad at me and look at me like I am crazy. -

“The Artistic Legacy of Ancient Civilizations: A Comparative Analysis of Cultural Context, Artistic Characteristics, and Significance”
Per our discussion in class, the details for The Case study is as follows:
1. (Minimum 750 words but may write more if need) and will be due week 6.
2. Even though these are questions, please follow APA style when writing your answers.
3. Please use at least 2 resources as your references besides your textbook.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
CASE STUDY:
As a student of art history, your task is to analyze and compare artwork from five different ancient civilizations: ancient Egypt, ancient Greece, ancient Rome, Prehistoric Art, and First Civilizations. To complete this task, you will need to write a response on each civilization that addresses the following topics:
Cultural Context: What was the cultural context in which the artwork was produced? What were the religious, political, social, or economic factors that influenced the art of this civilization?
Artistic Characteristics: What were the key stylistic and technical characteristics of the art from this civilization? How did the artists from this civilization use form, color, line, texture, and composition to convey meaning?
Significance: What was the significance of the art from this civilization? How did it contribute to the cultural identity or historical legacy of the civilization?
For each civilization, you will need to choose at least one artwork to analyze and compare to other works from other civilizations. Your analysis should be supported with evidence from scholarly sources and should be written in clear, concise, and well-organized paragraphs.
Here are some examples of artworks you could choose to analyze for each civilization:
Ancient Egypt:
The Great Sphinx of Giza
The Narmer Palette
The Tomb of Tutankhamun
Ancient Greece:
The Parthenon
The Winged Victory of Samothrace
The Laocoon and His Sons
Ancient Rome:
The Colosseum
The Arch of Constantine
The Pantheon
Prehistoric Art:
The Cave Paintings of Lascaux
The Venus of Willendorf
Stonehenge
First Civilizations:
The Ziggurat of Ur
The Stele of Hammurabi
Remember, the purpose of this case study is to compare and contrast the artwork from these civilizations and to provide an analysis of their cultural context, artistic characteristics, and significance. By the end of the study, you should be able to identify the similarities and differences between the art from these civilizations and understand how they contribute to the broader narrative of human history.
Credit will be given based on sufficient exploration and comprehensiveness in your responses -
