Title: The Evolution of Section 25 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms: A Critical Analysis of the Dickson Case and its Impact on Indigenous Rights and Reconciliation Introduction The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms (Charter
2. POLITICAL AND LEGAL TRANSFORMATION
The Dickson case (2024) shows a change in the way courts deal with s. 25 of the Charter. Whereas in Kapp (2008), the majority abstained from addressing s. 25 (although Justice Bastarache made a dissenting opinion), in Dickson the court explicitly used s. 25 to protect indigenous difference and promote reconciliation.
Drawing on Dickson (2024), Kapp (2008), and the article by Amy Swiffen (2022) (all available in Ares), write a 2000-word essay on how the use of s. 25 has changed in the courts. Be precise. Ensure you have a clearly argued thesis, supporting points, evidence, thorough citations, and that you edit for clarity and errors. -
Peer Review and Final Draft Submission for Essay Assignment
You will need to post your completed Peer Review Worksheet and peer reviewed essay with any marks and comments to two places: 1) to the Class Questions for your peer to view, and 2) to the digital classroom Assignment box, so the instructor can grade your work.
The final draft of this assignment uses a rubric. Please review the rubric from Topic 4 prior to beginning the peer review assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion. -
Title: The Impact of Technology on Test Scores in Education: A Timeline Analysis
This week, think about the problem in education that you identified back in Week 3. Create a timeline showing how technology has impacted, is impacting, and will impact this problem.
Then write a one-page summary in APA format detailing your findings and responding to all the following prompts:
Do you consider technology to be part of the problem, part of the solution, or a bit of both? Why?
Explain any important dates, events, experts whose work you relied upon, successes, challenges etc.
Some of your evidence will come from library or Internet resources, and some may also come from your workplace. While you should name authors of published resources, you should refer to your colleagues and leaders only in general terms.
For example:
Part I
Timeline showing dates and events with minimal text boxes.
Part II
Excerpt from a one-page summary
At the school where I am employed, test scores in English literature were lower than expected in 2010-2014, and this was a serious concern. In order to improve scores, the administration at my school tested a one to one ratio of computers to students in 2015 and 2016. It was somewhat successful in this aspect (explain briefly) but not in other aspects (explain briefly). Author (2006) conducted a study at a school that had also added computers to improve test scores, but his results were more successful than the results at my school. My school is trying a new intervention at the moment using some specialized reading software. Our district is considering implementing a learning management system in 2020, but we have financial issues, stakeholder resistance etc.
If you are not currently working or not working in education, it is acceptable to invent a scenario that is plausible and covers all the prompts.
You may create a timeline in Microsoft Word or use a free Microsoft Word timeline template that you find online such as the ones from https://www.template.net/business/timeline-templates/.
You should not use other programs like Visio, Excel, or PowerPoint instead.
Use timeline structure with dates, text boxes (required), and additional graphics (optional).
Then use APA essay format for the one-page summary, including in-text citations and references list.
Length: 1 completed timeline and a one-page summary with in-text citations and references list
References: Include a minimum of three credible resources appropriate to your specialization. of which at least one should be from a scholarly journal. -

“Integrating Culture and Humanistic Care: Application of Leininger’s Sunrise Model in Clinical Practice”
The Leininger ‘Sunrise’ model focuses on culture and humanistic care as essential components of all societies. The Leininger model contains three (3) main intervention strategies or approaches. The goal is that the nurse will be continuously mindful of these three interventional strategies and apply them in patient care settings often when, and where appropriate. The three intervention strategies from the model are:
Preservation/maintenance (support / reaffirm patient cultural preference / the situation may remain the same / document the cultural support afforded the patient).
Accommodation/negotiation (support / reaffirm patient cultural preference but compromise must occur/document the agreed-on compromise).
Re-patterning/restructuring (support / but a patient behavioral change needs to occur/document the changed behavior/intended outcome. Note, that ‘teaching’ is not enough. The nurse needs to identify the outcome of the teaching provided/did a change occur).
Write up 3 actual/real examples they used in their clinical setting – one (and only one) example for each of the 3 modes. Section is to be 450-550 words
Culture Care Preservation and/or Maintenance: State what specific culture this patient identifies with and what cultural issue/challenge/need is being addressed in this example: (fill in the example)
Culture Care Accommodation and/or Negotiation: State what specific culture this patient identifies with and what cultural issue/challenge/need is being addressed in this example: (fill in the example)
Culture Care Re-patterning and/or Restructuring: State what specific culture this patient identifies with and what cultural issue/challenge/need is being addressed in this example: (fill in example)
Remember, for ‘re-patterning’ saying you ‘taught’ the patient about a needed change, is not enough. You must also report if the patient agreed, or did not agree, to do what you suggested/asked of them. In other words, was there a change? -
“The Impact of Disability Training and Support on Companies and Employees: A Case Study of Health Equity LLC”
instruction on the papers
Look at other companies with member services specialist positions.
Explain how a company with a trained department on disability and staff that help disability members maintain their jobs is what the federal government benefits.
Explain how the employer struggles to eat and make ends meet when the company is looked at from an employer’s point of view.
The reality of not having staff trained to deal with disabled employees makes a significant impact, and how much money the company is missing in grants and benefits.
Explain how not having sick days only causes suicide and depression on a job.
Explain how Bank of America and all the companies are making money by having a disability department and jobs for those people making at least 50,000 a year.
Explain how health equity is poverty and how their company’s people still get food stamps.
Include a chart for the rate of pay and what other companies are paying, and show that company’s suicide rate, the PTO and the sick leave, the disability program, and how much those companies make.
Make it known to them that instead of taking care of their employees, they are running them away and causing harm to them mentally, physically, and emotionally that the company needs to get their priorities straight and stop looking at employees as money-making machines.
Explain that people are replaceable, but their mental state and trauma are irreversible. no person working for a million-dollar company should be eating out the trash or working two jobs because the company has a let them eat cate mentality.
Inside Treatment of Health Equity LLC Employers 9(All so Known as the Let Them Eat Cake Poverty company)
In side this company, there is no trained management on people with disability. There is no staff on the Survey team trained for people with disability. In this company, the customer and the survey call the FY24, which is why this company has fast and high turnover rates. This is why this company has a high suicide rate. What I mean by letting them eat cake for Health Equity is true. Employees are working at health equity dumpers diving to feed their children and having to buy generators to work for this company. This company’s average salary is at the poverty level. Some single moms work for this company and can’t afford clothes for themself or even a vacation. This company has no sick leave. The upper management has unlimited power, while the little people can’t afford to get sick. The president and CEO eat steak and enjoy a paid expensive vacation. It’s like going inside the wolf pin only to be mistreated, investigated, and treated like trash while you work at health. PTO – Paid time off is only 6 and 16 hours. No sick leave, none of that you are forced to work and live in poverty. With his job, you can only afford a house with two bedrooms, not a car. This company allows the customer and the Survey team to control this company. I have worked here for almost three years, and my kids have not had Christmas. I am on food stamps and in debt because I make the same amount as a fast-food worker.
