· The control function of management can be a critical determinant of organizational success. However, control is often discussed solely as a feedback and adjustment process. Often, control is accomplished in three steps: establishing standards, measuring performance against these standards, and correcting deviations from standards and plans. In her article, The Paradox of Coordination and Control, Jodi Gittel argues that “coordination benefits from strengthening the role of supervisors while weakening the role of accountability and performance measurement” (pg.101).
· Prepare an APA-formatted memo in which you discuss the following:
o Which perspective resonates with your own experiences?
o Is adopting agile management methods the key to addressing this contradiction as discussed in the article, What to Expect from Agile?
o What are the merits of holacracy? Is this the solution?
· The memo should be 3-4 pages in length

Title: “Defining American Identity in the Early 20th Century: A Comparative Analysis of Theodore Roosevelt’s ‘True Americanism’ and ‘The Klan Fights for Americanism’”
Primary Document Analysis #2
Hide Assignment Information
Turnitin™
This assignment will be submitted to Turnitin™.
Instructions
You are required to choose ONE single set of documents from one of the following two following options related to Unit II. There is a link to each of the documents/topics followed by a brief summary of the document/topic to help you decide which one interests you the most to read and analyze.
Document Set #1: Defining Who and What an American Was in the Early 20th Century
Theodore Roosevelt’s True Americanism (1894)
The Klan Fights for Americanism (1926)
As the United States became a global power by the early 1900s, international and domestic forces pressed upon American society to begin attempting to redefine exactly who an American was. The 14th Amendment to the Constitution during the Reconstruction Era had defined citizenship in national terms and presumably applied to all those living in newly acquired territories around the globe. Coupled with the massive waves of European immigration, the nation grappled with incorporating so many people of incredibly diverse backgrounds and extending the associated rights and privileges that came with American citizenship. These two documents express the evolution of concerns that were generated through perceived threats (both real and imagined) to American society and culture and propose solutions to the critical question of who and what an American was in the early 20th century.
Answer the following two questions in an essay with a MINIMUM length of TWO (2) FULL PAGES:
1. What are the major arguments contained within each of these two documents? How do they compare to one another?
2. Are there parallels in their arguments to modern debates within American society? If so, in what specific way(s)?
Please remember to use specific evidence from these documents to support your arguments.
