Fact Pattern
Consider again Acme, Inc, the company discussed in the first two modules. As noted in the two modules above, the company faces fairly frequent litigation of several different types. These include, as noted, disputes by suppliers and disputes involving delivery of products to customers. In addition, Acme has occasionally been sued by its employees, for complaints including breach of the employment contract.
As a way to lessen the risks posed by these forms of litigation, Acme is considering putting arbitration clauses in its contracts with suppliers, customers, and employees.
Acme is very interested in the potential that these clauses might have to reduce costs and improve litigation outcomes for Acme.
Questions
Your boss has asked you to prepare another very brief, two page (double-spaced) memo addressing the following:
How arbitration differs from litigation
What advantages arbitration might provide over the courts for Acme
What kinds of risks (if any) the use of arbitration clauses might pose for Acme.
Whether you would recommend the inclusion of arbitration clauses by Acme in some or all of the contracts it has with suppliers, customers, and employees.

CREATE AN INFOGRAPHIC PLEASE WITH COLORS AND A GOOD THEME AND THEN CREATE A BRIEF EESSAY I WILL LEAVE YOU A TIP ALSO!!!!!!!
Create an infographic that explains a crime/criminal using one of the individual level theories we have discussed. You should have at least 5 visual elements and the text in the infographic should narrate the graphics. You can use AI to assist you in this project but you will need to acknowledge the use of AI and you will need to make the majority of the decisions about what to include in your infographic. You will also submit a separate brief essay explaining your choices in what to include and in design of your infographic (template, colors, page setup, etc.)

“Designing a Human-Powered Water Pump for Developing Countries: A Case Study in Meeting Customer Requirements and Project Management”
You work as a design engineer for a developing manufacturing company and have been asked to meet with a potential customer. The customer is a charity that provides and installs fresh water bore holes in developing countries. You have been asked to provide a mechanism for pumping water out of a bore hole.
It should be assumed that the bore holes are likely to be located in remote areas. As such they should be human-powered only, and should be designed for ease of installation in mind. Once installed, the charity is not located within the communities, therefore any ongoing maintenance will need to be managed within the community. As such ease of use, and availability of parts/materials needs to be considered.
It should be expected that the pump is used daily for a minimum of 10 years, and could be a life-line for a small community (up to 50 people). Some critical design features:
● Depth of the bore hole to the water surface is minimum of 1.5m.
● Pump should be powered only by human input (no electrical power available), and should be capable of being operated by a 95 percentile male or female within the age ranges of 14 to 65 with regards to size and strength.
● The pump should be capable of providing 1L of water in a 2 minute period of operation, but could be used for extended periods of 30minutes at a time.
Task:
Produce a report which contains the follow sections:
● Outline of the problem and understanding of the customer brief ● Research the current designs of human powered driven pumps ● Detailed Design Specification which meets all the customer requirements
● Present project schedule for the design of the product (including sequence and timing of each activity)
To achieve a Merit, the report should also:
● Evaluate which design methodology you are using and explain why
● Identify the critical path activities on your plan and what impact they may have on the project
● To achieve a Distinction, the report should also:
● Critically analysis other industry standard design briefs (on any product), and compare them with your own
Submission Format:
A formal report with appropriate use of structure and referencing. I already submitted the work, and here is the feedback I received: Overall, you have provided a detailed background on human-powered pumps. Your review of the literature was adequate. However, the major aspect of the assignment has not been addressed, which is focusing on the case-study problem, where you act as a design engineer for a developing manufacturing company and have been asked to meet with a potential customer.
In addressing this scenario, you are expected to provide the following:
1. Design brief, giving the details and technical requirements of the project.
2. state of the art on the current design of human-driven pumps. (your work covers this part).
3. specifications for the design. Preferably, this can be made in a tabular format.
4. You need to provide the project schedule and critical paths. You have a project schedule in your report; however, a critical path must also be provided, as detailed by the tutor.
Finally, you are commended for the references and bibliography provided. -

Questions:
1. Pietro Nivola seems to strike a counterintuitive note on partisanship. What is the basis for his argument that partisanship in Washington could be beneficial in certain ways? One of the assertions is about the United States becoming more “parliamentary” as a result, which begs the question: If Nivola thinks this is beneficial, should the United States not shift to a parliamentary system of government? Do you believe the United States should d so, and why or why not?
2. The pieces in this section ( Nivola, Risen and Friedman) illustrate different party systems. How do you think the structure of these party systems (such as single party vs multi-party systems) affects how interest groups participate in the political process differently? What about the citizenry at large? Do single-party and dominante party systems (like China) imply that individuals and interest groups don’t really matter in politics, since the same party always wins elections? Why or why not?
3. Consider the two-party system in the United States, in which the Democrats and Republicans routinely win nearly all national elections, even as Congress and the parties themselves are often unpopular and many people wish for a third party to emerge. What about the electoral system and the social realities in the United States raises obstacles to third parties? Or, why do you think the existing two-party system is so stable, seemingly making it impossible for a multi-party system?
4. Pick one of the case studies in the Module: Mexico and France. What do we learn about the nature of political parties in the above two countries? Apply the concepts from the readings in our textbook as well as the readings in Dickovick and Eastwood.
