    In Chapter 7, deviance is defined as” behavior that violates the standards of conduct or expectations of a group or society”. As I included in my audio recordings, “the one characteristic shared by those who are widely regarded as deviant is a stigma – “the mark of social disgrace that set the deviant apart from those who consider themselves normal”. Your book defines stigma as “a label used to devalue members of certain social groups”. 3. This entire topic and social issue of children for sale is considered both criminal and deviant by sociologists.
