Overview
For this milestone, you will submit a PowerPoint with voice-over narration (or alternative) presentation. The purpose of this presentation is to make a venture capital pitch in which you are asking for resources from a potential investor. The pitch should include the details you think are important for a potential investor to understand so they can decide whether to invest in your company or idea. PowerPoint voice-over narration (or alternative software) will be used to create a voice recording that corresponds to your PowerPoint slides. There is no requirement to show video during this presentation, but audio is required.
Directions
Create a venture capital pitch presentation as a PowerPoint with voice-over narration (or alternative) presentation. Your presentation should be 3–5 minutes in length. It should include slides with voice-over narration (or alternative software) or other material to properly “pitch” the idea to potential investors. There are no limits on how many slides to use, and you may also choose to show various websites or screenshots of other resources to maximize the value and impact of the pitch.
The presentation should address the following main elements:

Title: Ethical Considerations in the Care of a Patient with Dysphagia: A Case Study Analysis
Case Study:
In Estate of Travaglini v. Ingalls Health (2009), an 84-year-old patient was admitted to the hospital
with general complaints of “not feeling well.” At the time of his admission, the physician told the admitting nurse that the patient had dysphagia and must be observed whenever he was eating or trying to
swallow liquids. At 10:00 that evening, an aide came to the patient’s room and left a sandwich for him to eat. Shortly afterward, the patient’s roommate heard the patient choking and summoned help.
At autopsy, it was confirmed that he had aspirated the turkey sandwich, and that this was the cause
of the cardiopulmonary arrest that killed the patient. Though liability was found against the aide and
her supervisor, the court also upheld a verdict of $500,000 against the hospital.
Instruction:
this client care scenario is viewed from a legal lens and how the UAP, the supervisor, and the hospital were found negligent. Because ethics and legal principles often overlap, consider the same scenario from an ethical standpoint. Answer the following questions, record your answers on a Word document, and upload it below. Always give credit to your sources.
Define beneficence and non-maleficence. Discuss how they are similar, yet different, and give examples of each.
How were both of these ethical principles not upheld in the given scenario?
Rewrite the scenario of this client with dysphagia to uphold these ethical principles. Consider the rights of delegation. What could the provider, admitting nurse, and the UAP do differently to ‘do good’ while also ‘doing no harm’? What provider orders should be included?
Start your scenario with the same opening sentence: An 84-year-old patient was admitted to the hospital with general complaints of “not feeling well.” -

Title: Exploring Carver’s Style and the Themes of Discontent and Trapped Relationships in “What We Talk About When We Talk About Love” and “Inés of My Soul”
What do you think about Carver’s style? The story is almost entirely dialogue, so it isn’t necessarily easy to see where things start to go wrong. What do you think of the characters, Wayne and Caroline? Their dinner out is supposed to be the “first of the extravagances they had planned.” Do you think they made it to the other things they’d planned? What sort of man is Wayne? What sort of job do you imagine he does? What about Caroline, what seems to be going on with her?
Inés is cooking dinner as we come into García’s story and Inés’s thoughts are interspersed with the preparations she is making. There is a sort of indirect quality to the story. What do you think of this style, compared to Carver’s more direct style? Read carefully the cooking moments, are they symbolic at all? What do you think of Richard? Why do you think he doesn’t appear in the story except in Inés’s thoughts? What do you think of Inés?
Do either of these stories’ couples have a good future ahead of them? Explain.
Think about how different these two approaches are, and yet look at how they write about similar feelings: discontent, feeling trapped or unable to alter a downward spiral. -

Title: Legal Considerations for Hiring Susan Florence at Bird Dog Freight
You are the human resource manager of Bird Dog Freight, a large, long-haul trucking company. It is your responsibility to ensure you consider all legal ramifications of hiring, or not hiring, candidates for employment to protect and balance the rights of both the company and the candidate.
You are looking to hire Susan Florence as a new long-haul driver. Susan is a 58-year-old African American with an exceptional resume and extensive long-haul experience.
Your company required a physical as part of the hiring process and during the physical, Susan revealed she has lupus. In his evaluation, the doctor stated concerns that her age and health may affect her driving ability.
First, provide a detailed, written assessment to the Bird Dog Freight CEO describing potential legal concerns regarding Susan’s hiring or non-hiring. This may be in either email or memorandum format. Be sure to explicitly indicate any statutes and laws (federal or from your own state) concerning discrimination that are applicable in this case.
Next, recommend a course of action to the CEO regarding the hiring of Susan, and fully explain your position. Be sure to indicate how Affirmative Action policies may factor into Susan’s hiring or non-hiring. Your recommendation must paint a picture for the CEO so he fully understands the ramifications of hiring or not hiring Susan.
Your project must be a minimum of three written pages. You must use at least two academically reliable sources to support your analysis and recommendation. All sources used must have citations and references formatted in APA Style. APA formatting of your project is otherwise not required. -

“The Impact of Social Media on Perceptions and Communication”
Consider each prompt and respond to all.
How do you form perceptions about others when you primarily rely on social media to make these perceptions? What do you focus on?
How accurate do you think your perceptions of others are on social media and how do you know? What types of errors do you believe you might commit when forming perceptions online?
While using social media, how can perception/attribution errors impact the perception of others and negatively affect communication?
Your initial post should be at least 250 words
then respond to a classmate with 200 words
1- How I form my perception on someone on social media is the first thing I look at is pictures. If the person is dressed in a suit, then that person is very sophisticated. If a guy posts a body picture, then that could mean he loves to workout. Same goes for the females but there is one thing I look at is when females stick out their butt then I know she could be more on the other side. The next thing I look at is what they post. What they post is who they are in my opinion. You post stuff because either you found it funny, or you truly believe in it.
My accuracy on this is pretty accurate. I know it is accurate because when I talk to them, I can tell. I can also tell when my friends talk about them. It’s not hard to tell how someone is. Look at their post and they will tell you a lot about the person. I did not have any errors in my perception of someone. My strategy has always worked for me, and I haven’t run into any errors yet so that is a good thing.
Having the wrong perception can negatively affect you on your communication with the person. Just because a person is wearing a suit in their pictures does not mean they have a really nice job. They could be wearing it for a nice occasion. That is why I said you must look on what they post because that will tell you.
2- i form perceptions about others using social media based on their posts. I look at things like what they are doing in the posts, or the comment that is associated along with the social media post. I can also look at what, or who they are following to see what kind of things they like or what kind of group they might belong to.
I don’t follow anyone that I don’t know personally or have met in real life, of course excluding celebrities or organizations I might like. But if I were to go off solely on their social media, I don’t think that my perception of them would be that accurate, because I am different from other people as I have different likes and dislikes. So, if I go just off what I can see on social media I’d be biased towards my own likes and dislikes and can lead me to have a negative perception on someone without knowing more about them. Some errors that I might commit when forming perceptions online is focusing on only one thing rather than the full picture. I also probably form a perception on someone too quickly if I only see them online as I am missing a whole different side to them. As they can only show the side of them that they want to.
Perception errors can impact communication negatively according to the primacy effect, which is where our first impression of a person can overshadow impressions later. I feel this can happen a lot with social media, as you may think a person is going to be a certain way because of what they post or comment about on their social media account. -
