Hello Everyone,
Here is a properly formatted citation for a peer-reviewed article on the roles of Advanced Nurse Practitioner’s (ARNPs), an area of practice that is of particular interest to me:
Hande, K., & Jackson, H. (2024). Navigating the pathway to advanced practice: A grounded theory of nurse practitioner role transition in a fellowship. Journal of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, 36(4), 221-232.
https://doi.org/10.1097/jxx.0000000000001000
I found this article using Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL) database.
While searching for this article, I encountered a few difficulties. Initially, the challenge in selecting appropriate keywords and search terms to narrow down the many numbers of articles related to ARNP roles. Additionally, I had to use several filters, such as publication date and peer reviewed status, to help find the most relevant and recent studies to meet assignment requirement.
Despite these challenges mentioned, CINAHL is highly useful for my colleagues. It provides access to a wide range of academic and professional literature related to nursing and allied health disciplines, making it a valuable source for finding specialized and comprehensive articles in peer reviewed journal articles, evidence-based care sheets, quick lessons, and continuing education modules, among other resources (Heikkilä & Hopia, 2019). The databases advanced search capabilities, including subject headings and specific filters, help users to effectively locate pertinent research.
I would recommend CINAHL to my colleagues because of its extensive and focused collection of nursing and health related articles. It is particularly beneficial for those needing in depth information on specific topics within nursing and allied health. The quality and relevance of the articles found in CINAHL make it a valuable tool for healthcare professionals and researchers.

Title: “The Truth About Vaccines: Debunking Myths and Promoting Safety and Effectiveness”
Part 1: For this presentation, you will create a 6-8-minute video of the fact that vaccines are safe and effective. This speech needs to have at least five sources from articles written by expert authors. Three of them I have attached as PDFs, While you can use internet articles for the other 2 sources, they must have authors and be evaluated using the CRAAP method. Please have at least one cited in each of your main points during speech. This is a speech that needs to persuade your audience. Your proposition should be what organizes your speech. In other words, all your main points should be in support of your proposition, explaining why it is true, should be believed, or should lead to change.
While this speech can include personal stories, explanations, or hypothetical examples, it should only be used to support your research. If you have a personal story that supports your position, it should only be used if it aligns with your research.
The speech should include all the outlining components that were discussed within Module 2. Your speech should have an attention grab to open up your speech, a clear proposition, a reason for the audience to listen, and a preview in the introduction.
The speech should also include a body with at least 3 main points that support your proposition. Each main point needs to include subpoints that explain or support your main points. Remember, this is not a speech about your personal knowledge, but should be grounded with the research you conducted.
Finally, the speech should also include a conclusion that has a summary of your main points and a clincher to wrap up your speech.
RUBRIC:

-Student summarizes their main points and concludes with an effective closure to the speech.
Part 2: Outline on the speech -The outline should not include full sentences or paragraphs, but phrases or sentence fragments. Each component should just contain enough information to keep you on track and remind you what comes next. (I have attached an example of what the outline should look like). -Includes an attention grab, a thesis/specific purpose, a reason to listen and a preview.
-Includes an attention grab, a thesis/specific purpose, a reason to listen and a preview.

The final component of the persuasive speech will include a PowerPoint to go along with your persuasive research speech. This PowerPoint should utilize the strategies that were discussed in this video (. The PowerPoint needs to have a minimum of 6 slides, including a title slide, an introduction slide, one for each main points (3-5 main points), and a conclusion slide. This assignment is worth 30 points and will be evaluated using the Persuasive Research Speech PowerPoint Rubric.
Rubric: -Has a minimum of 6 slides to cover all the major components. Introduction, main points, and conclusion are well conveyed. -Design is pleasing – not distracting – not just plain white. “The Importance of Arm Span in Sports Performance”
The average arm span or wingspan for adults is approximately equal to their height. The value that is
often used is the ratio of arm span relative to height which is known as the APE index. After 15 years
of age, the normal range of arm span/height or APE index is considered to be 1-1.05 but many people
may fall outside of this range.
Interestingly, “the average ratio of arms to height in the NBA is an astounding 1.06” according to
Sports Illustrated (https://vault.si.com/vault/2012/11/05/the-case-for-wingspan). We often think about
the extraordinary height of basketball players but they often have incredibly long wingspans as well.
Both being tall and having a long wing span are advantageous in this sport. Being tall puts you closer
to the hoop for easier lay-ups and slam dunks on offense. It also helps playing defense to block shots.
It is easy to see that wingspan would also help with these offensive and defensive moves.
Other sports, like swimming, may also have advantages with a long wingspan. Some sports, like
weightlifting, may have advantages with a shorter wingspan considering there would be less distance to
lift. How does your arm span compare with your height

You will write four answers of approximately 1000 words to the questions posed and submit them together in a single document. This constitutes your assessment for this unit. The total word count for the assessment will therefore be 4000 words, plus or minus 10%. “Interactive Storytelling in Spatial.io: Creating a Dynamic and Immersive Narrative Space”
This project aims to harness the power of Spatial.io to create a unique, interactive storytelling space. Your objective is to develop a digital environment that not only tells a compelling story but also engages users through various multimedia elements and interactive features. This project will enhance your skills in digital asset creation, interactive design, and immersive storytelling.
IMPORTANT: Note that with the free version of Spatial you have an upload limit of 500 MB. Therefore, you might only be able to add a few photos, an object or two, and maybe one video. That is enough. The idea of this project is for you to have the experience of creating a 3D space in VR.
Project Assets:
You should a selection of assets (images, videos 3D assets etc) which help to define the story of your space. You do not need to fill the entire space with assets. What is important is to make a careful selection which helps to build the unique story of your space.
Project Goals:
1. Create a Story-based Narrative: Develop a compelling and coherent storyline that can be experienced through your Spatial.io environment. This could include a personal space which shows off your personality, skills, or personal story. It could be a gallery, a museum or an educational space. 2. Multimedia Integration: Incorporate an assortment of images, videos, three-dimensional models, and other digital assets that enhance the narrative.
3. Portals: Create portals that lead users to other related or thematic spaces, expanding the story’s universe and providing a deeper immersive experience.
Project Components:
1. Story Development: – Concept and Theme: Decide on a central theme or concept for your story. Ensure it is clear and engaging.
2. Multimedia Assets: – Images: Source or create high-quality images that align with your story’s theme. Incorporate these images into your space. – Videos: Produce or curate videos that provide dynamic visual and audio elements to enhance storytelling. Incorporate the videos into the space. – 3D Models: Design or obtain three-dimensional models that can be used within the Spatial.io environment to add depth and realism to your story. You can sources these from webpages such as Sketchfab and others. – Sound and Music: Integrate sound effects and music to create an immersive atmosphere.
3. Interactive Design: – Hotspots: Implement hotspots within the space where users can click to reveal more information, view images, or watch videos.
– User Navigation: Ensure the space is easy to navigate and that the flow of the story is intuitive.
4. Portals to Other Spaces: – Design Portals: Create portals that transport users to different spaces within Spatial.io, each related to a part of your story or expanding on the narrative.
Evaluation Criteria:
– Narrative Coherence: The clarity and engagement level of the storyline.
– Multimedia Integration: The use of images, videos, and 3D models.
– User Experience: The overall usability and immersive experience of the space.
– Innovation: The originality and creativity of the storytelling approach.
