Fundamentals of Supply Chain Final Assessment: Outline and Rubric Purpose of this Assessment The purpose of this assignment is to assess your ability to perform a process map and to evaluate an existing process in the supply chain. Items Required for Submission 1. 10-20 slide Voice Over Powerpoint. Step ONE: Preparation This assessment has two parts. The first requires you to identify, discuss and create a process map for the supply chain process that occurs at a company you know well. Depending upon your position, you may have to speculate some (supported by research) but you should also be able to speak with others at the company to better understand the supply chain for the item you select. Once you have completed the process map, you will then evaluate the efficiency of the supply chain and make recommendations specific to outsourcing and offshoring considerations. Do either of these strategies make business sense for the company? If so, why? If not, why and what should be done if the strategies already exist within the supply chain for that item? Final Assessment: Outline and Rubric 1 Fundamentals of Supply Chain Final Assessment: Outline and Rubric Step TWO: Supply Chain Process Think about a supply chain process that occurs at a company you know well. It does not have to be a large process. To make this assignment more manageable, you are encouraged to select a single item produced or sold by the company or a process that happens for a single department within the company. This assessment also requires you to select two external scholarly sources that you will use in your presentation to evaluate the supply chain process. You will need: ● two sources for process mapping ● two sources for outsourcing ● two sources for offshoring Step THREE: Evaluate and Make Recommendations Once you have completed the first two steps, create a visual illustration of the supply chain (SC) you selected for the process mapping. This illustration can be in the form of a flowchart or any visual depiction you desire that makes sense. Evaluate the supply chain and make recommendations regarding the efficiency of the supply chain and whether offshoring or outsourcing is a valid strategy for the supply chain you selected. Be sure to complete your voice over Powerpoint. If you do not know how to do this, there are many videos available on Youtube that you can watch to learn how to do it. Note: You are encouraged to have a slide or three for each of the criteria in the grading rubric. Use the criterion for the slide headings. Step FOUR: Complete Checklist for Submission Before you submit your work, check to see if you have met the criteria noted below. Did you: ✓ Identify and clearly describe the supply chain process you are evaluating for this project? ✓ Create a visual representation of the supply chain for process mapping? ✓ Collect the six scholarly sources required for your evaluation? More sources can be used. ✓ Clearly discuss the supply chain process by discussing what it is, what makes it efficient, what works wells, can something different be done? If so what? etc. ✓ Evaluate the management of the supply chain? ✓ Discuss offshoring and/or outsourcing strategies? ✓ Follow APA guidelines where appropriate to include a reference slide? ✓ Complete a Voice Over presentation? ✓ Used the grading rubric below to ensure your project ranks at the proficient or exemplary level for each criterion?
