Formative Assessment: Employee Development Plans
In this formative assessment, conduct research into the current practices in your organization related to employee development. Most organizations have some type of plan to develop their employees at all levels.
Prepare an outline that features the components of your organization’s employee development plan.
Consider these questions:
What types of activities are available for employees to enhance their skills?
How do employees learn about these activities or opportunities? Are they listed on the website? Is it part of the hiring/onboarding process? Are they emailed to the entire team?
Are these opportunities available monthly? Quarterly? Yearly?
What opportunities are available for high-performing employees who want to move up the ranks?
What are the strengths and weaknesses in this plan?
What leadership approaches do you notice as you research the various activities?
I work for the VETERANS HEALTHCARE ADMINISTRATION IN THE HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT.
