Mini-Paper 1 was an informative essay sharing discoveries made while becoming an authority on chosen topic. For Mini-Paper 2, you will identify issues and patterns discovered among your sources and develop your theory through 1-3 patterns of development. You will develop your argument through proving a causal relationship through Cause & Effect, relative evaluation through Comparison & Contrast, or a combination of both. This will serve as the foundation for defending your upcoming proposal.
Through mini-papers 1 & 2, you should begin seeing an issue to be addressed, a problem to be solved, a large question to be answered, etc., thereby setting the groundwork for your Proposal Essay–Major Paper 3. This paper will present a workingarguable claim of fact, value, or policy that will evolve as your body of evidence increases and interacts with previous research.
