In this module, we’ve learned about the various ways that technology is being leveraged to improve patient care. Now, you’re going to identify a patient problem that you think can be improved through the use of technology.
Step 1: As an example, learn how smartphones are being used to treat diabetes & by reading the linked ADA journal article.
Step 2: Your submitted assignment must be in response to the questions asked. Support your answers with evidence from the literature. Please ensure your written assignment:
• Meets the word count of 500-750 words (2-3 pages double-spaced).
• Addresses and answers each question pertaining to the assignment.
• Correctly uses paragraphs with an introduction, a body, and a conclusion.
• Is free of grammatical errors, and adheres to proper APA formatting for citations, paraphrasing, and the reference list.
Step 3: Select a patient problem (other than Diabetes) that can be improved by a mobile application or technology.
Step 4: Written Assignment: In a well-developed robust manner, fully answer and address the following questions and content. Your response must be between 500 – 750 words. The word count must not include the references, in-text citations, and reiteration of the question.
• Describe the patient’s problem in detail – include pertinent patient information that supports your choice.
• Describe the mobile application or technology solution and how it addresses the needs of your patient.
• This may require a bit of internet research to understand what solutions exist – if the technology does not appear to exist yet, feel free to propose your own idea for a solution.
• Relative to the technology solution, how would you address these teaching concerns?
• Privacy and confidentiality
