Title: Culturally Relevant Teaching in a Low-Performing School with a Predominantly African American Population

I need the following questions answered:Questions to address :
a. Why is culturally relevant teaching important? 
b. How can you make your teaching more culturally relevant? What specific ideas could you try?
A little background knowledge. I teach in what might be considered a low performing school. The population is predominantly African American. Many of my students live in poverty. Also, I teach 7th grade math for students with learning disabilities .
