Identify a social issue that’s important to you. Identify actionable steps that you can take to address the cause. Write a 3 – 4 page double place advocacy plan that details how you will address the issue.

Assignment
Background
This first half of the paper should provide background information on the issue. You should include the following:
·      What is the issue?
·      Why is the issue important?
·      Who is most being impacted by the issue?
·      What are ramifications or potential ramifications?
·      How are people impacted by the issue?
·      What’s the current state? (laws, policies, current events, unfolding, rulings/ media coverage)
·      Identify at least one advocacy organization that is addressing the issue.
·      How is the issue currently being addressed?
Plan
The second half of the paper should include the following:
Come up with an implementable plan to address the issue.
Identify at actions that will be taken. (Can include more than one.)
Who will the plan impact? Be specific
Who are the stakeholders needed to carry out the plan?
With what organizations/entities can you partner to implement plan?
What’s the timeframe for implementing plan?
How will you evaluate the effectiveness/success of plan?
