Title: “The Role of Elections in Democracy: Lessons from Ancient Athens”

When we think of democracy today, we think of elections being the most important part. However, as you will see in the following video, elections are by no means necessary for a democracy to work:

After watching this video, answer these questions in a few sentences each:
1. How did Athenians choose their leaders and by what means? Compare the Athenian way of selecting their leaders to ours. What are the strengths and weaknesses of each system? Which system do you think would be better for representing all the people in a diverse population? 
2. Module Review. What made Athens and Sparta different? How did the war fought between them, the Peloponnesian War, play out and how did it end?
