“A Journey to Achieve My Passion: Overcoming Challenges and Pursuing My Nursing Career”

Please draw from your personal experiences and write a one-page essay following this outline:
Introduction (1 paragraph): Introduce yourself to the committee. Make sure to answer these questions: What are you studying at NTCC? Why does this field of study interest you? What are your career goals?
Body (1 or more paragraphs): Elaborate on why you could benefit from a Foundation scholarship. Make sure to answer these questions: What challenges are you facing that could prevent you from achieving your college goals? (Examples could include family or work responsibilities, financial hardship, etc.) In what way could a scholarship help you overcome those challenges? What personal attributes make you deserving of a scholarship?
Conclusion (1 paragraph): Summarize the points you made in your body. This is a good opportunity to thank the committee for their consideration and add anything that might make you stand out as an applicant.  This is just some information to help with answering the questions that need to be answered. Please add to this or correct whatever makes this sound better or more professional. Thank you!
my name is Brittney Dennis, I am 33 years old. I am a mother of two beautiful children a 8 y/o daughter and 11 year old son. Im currently a LVN and have been one for 6 years. I was a certified medical assistant for 6 years prior to becoming a nurse. Im studying transitional nursing at ntcc to advance my career from Lvn to RN. My goal since i was a little girl has always been to become a nurse. As a young girl i used to help my aunt prick her finger and check her blood sugar and i enjoyed that and assisting her with things she struggled with as a elderly women. It made me feel good to be able to help her and just seeing the impression it made on her life. My reasoning for wanting to become a nurse is because i enjoy taking care of others, i feel like nurses make a difference in a persons life, and it leave a lasting impression. My career goals are to finish RN school start and manage my own hospice home health company.
some challenges i face is being a single parent of two. I have no financial support or receive not financial assistance. I have to pay 100 percent out of pocket for school, work full time to pay bills, pay for school and financially provide for my children. This scholarship would be very beneficial for me and would help me pay for tuition, books, uniforms, and school supplies.
