Adapting Coleridge’s “The Nightingale” for Film: Casting, Setting, and Plot Choices

Imagine you are going to adapt one of the works on the syllabus for film. Write an essay describing and explaining your choices. Consider the following:
• Casting – Whom would you select to play the major roles? Why?
• Setting – Would you try to maintain the original setting or would you use contemporary costumes, places, etc?
• Plot – Would you update any aspect of the plot to fit contemporary social issues?
